I wanted to say thank you so much for the info now as a teen student my ipod classic is now fix just took time to open the device but it was easy to follow
This was the only video on RUclips that helped me fix the center button on my new to me (used) 5th Gen iPod Classic. I have never taken an iPod apart before and this video guided me through the process very easily with the help of a simple pc tool repair kit. You explained things very well and didn't skip around or edit out important parts of the video. This video will also come in handy if i feel the need to mod the iPod in the possible near future as it is a good representation of how to tear down an iPod classic. Thank you.
Trying to find correct battery for .....Ipod classic, Dec Late 09 thin, 160GB , Model # A1238, Confident I can do this myself after watching you. Just want to get proper battery first time. Great posts and very informative.
This video was extremely helpful, and it helped me fix up my 5th gen iPod classic. After a few weeks though the center button stopped working again because the black pad thing drifted off center again. Do you have any recommendations to fix this issue? Like with an adhesive or something
Hi. I'm loving this series of videos and thanks for going to the trouble. I'm trying to upgrade my much loved 6th generation iPod. I've gone down the iFlash/SD and ZIF SSD routes and hit a wall - I'm leaning towards motherboard now. One thing that is driving me mad - bearing in mind that I am a complete technophobe - you keep referring to an 'oxport' (aux port or something else?) Thanks again for your efforts.
This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I thought for sure I would've had to order a brand new logic board but thank goodness it was this simple!

you can try some double sided tape. i wouldn't do an adhesive as it could cause a bigger problem.
