Those pedals and tires look good. put some fenders and a rear rack and it'll be perfect for rando

I wouldn't think of using the word "elegant" when describing a mountain bike. Beautiful resto/build. This checks all the boxes!

That Sir is a very satisfying result and an impressive restoration. Who’d of thought it would transform into such a cool bike.

Very clean build! I have an Elevation 400 as a summer commuter. I put a bmx stem and bars on for comfort along with a custom front rack with milk crate so I don't have to wear a backpack. With 26x1.5" tires it rolls very well and rides great as most steel bikes do.

love the restoration. I just made the exact single chainring and 7 speed cassette setup for my daughter's bike.

Great find and super job restoring it! I gotta learn how to do that when I install tires! Cool! Snapping that dork disk looked satisfying... LOL.

It's very satisfying to watch you bring these beauties back to life, this one in particular. I'm not familiar with this brand (Mivata?), but it's a beautiful bike. Cheers.

would it be easier to just pressure wash the bike frame at a car wash ?

What would a bike like this be worth? I own the exact one. It was maybe $300 30+ years ago

I just bought one and I'm turning it into A rat ride commuter thing, I guess. Anyways. I have a 91 in the mystic blue. I'm going to ride it with a triple and I need a front derailleur, the back of the seat tube near the front derailleur area has a pulley wheel, I've never seen this before. What is it for? And, does this bike use a top or side pull derailleur? I have an old suntour I was going to use. Trying to keep it japanese ya know. Thanks.

If it has a pully below where the front derailleur mounts, the derailleur is a bottom pulls and the cable comes from above and goes around the pully.
