What I got from this video is an appreciation of that beautifully designed and constructed frame. In fact as I’ve aged, the finished bike is close to my idea of the perfect bike.

Wow. This bicycle is 38 years old and it's chrome plating is pretty much in pristine condition! It's previous owner must've really cared for it.
The bike I'm working on right now is less than one third of this one's age and it's chrome is a rust peppered mess already...
was about to comment the same. Someone loved this bicycle. Or maybe it was stored dry and safe. The parts look in good condition. maybe it wasn't riden much. or had a new cassette chain drivetrain at some point :)
This guy is so game. He has all the tools for any task. I like the colour you gave it.

Rock star bike - I love this. I would want the stem lower, but that would mess with the basket, so that's a tough one.

I still ride from time to time my 1981 miyata 912. 600ex components. I bought in New back in 1981 and will never give it up.
Very nice. I had that series of Dura Ace derailleur and cranks (7400) on my old race bike in the 1990s.

A friend of mine had an early 80's Team Miyata Blue race bike with full 6 speed Dura Ace, including the Dyno-drive cranks and pedals and bar/stem. It might of even had the Dura Ace seat post. (I can't remember when that came out)...PS. If you don't "clear coat" that seat post after sanding it, it will start to oxidize and turn black within a few months. PSS. Those dual pivot brake calipers are from the very late 80's.

I have a steel grey frame gold head set Miyata Seven Ten bought new in 1985. Still have the leather suede saddle in fantastic condition. A quality frame and workmanship. I'll never sell it

Typical parts mash-up from the 80ies. I would at least consider to upgrade the front derailleur to 600 or DA. Are these SunTour shifters indexed for 8gears?
