This video restores an old Cannondale bike. It seems to be a 1996-1998 model year, but I searched it, but I don't know the exact name.
If anyone knows, please reply.
It is a pity that the drivetrain is not all XTR grade.

What about the Acera front and rear derailleur, and the steerer tube extender!!!
Was hoping the Acera RD would be magically polished into an XTR or XT ;).
Don´t want so sound like a bike snob, but same for me. Acera stuff works, we all know this. But this bike would have deserved an XTR rear derailleur. Otherwise, great job als always and i really do envy your paint skills! Two thumbs way up!
Yeah, the full xtr group set would have really pulled it together. I would also have liked if they had dropped the steerer tube extender, it makes it look more like a hybrid cruiser than a retro xc race bike. The paint is really nice tho, same color scheme and design of the Volvo sponsored bikes. Cool belle overall.
@@paulywogtheburnin8r364 The paint rocks, I have an m900 cad3 and wish it was that classic colour scheme too. This bike might have been a customer's so it was left sized as they wished.
Hard to find some good condition mech
That lube, repack, repaint and decal must cost more than the bike was worth, but the end result is a bike that is bomb proof that looks presentable. Thank you for keeping 26'ers alive and ripping! They are the do it all bikes of the world. Gravel, BMX, Touring, Riding Dad Style at the park, getting to a job at McDonald's, Dirt Jumping, and Bombing DH.
The elastomers are more than dead and there is no more oil inside the damper. Fork plunger are probably rusted, and all the seal dry.
Without serving the fork this is just a restoration for display.
Very nice restoration. I would like the fork to be serviced and painted, though.
Those XTR rim brakes are the best rim brakes, I bought an old mtb that came with them and they're so smooth they almost feel hydraulic
Indeed fully agree.. i remember my brother had a GT bike full XTR gear line but after a year he replace both XTR V-Brakes on his bike with a new set of Magura V-brakes hydraulics, so i fit the XTR V-brakes on my bike which had Alivio v-brakes but the rest of my bike had the first gen deore LX drive gear components and with XTR brakes from my brother the bike ride changed and improved drastically it got so precise, no squeeking noise to rims pads in rain nothing just fast smooth, strong and very precise stopping and with stronger confidence in brakes i could control way much better the bike ride.. ;0)
Such a nice rebuild but the acera RD kills it...this would be like combining formula 1 components with a tractor drivetrain
i think acera isn't that bad , i have acera Rd and its doing well
@@onurscofield5178 Of course not. Even Tourney derailleurs can shift very well if adjusted properly. But given every single other component is XTR, it would have matched much more beautifully.
@@onurscofield5178 This only might be in case of 2 possible options the customer has the full XTR line with front and rear deraileur but since it use that bike daily to hit three branches or stuck up- roots from forest trails on front / rear deraileur so in this case it makes sense if Acera parts get stuck & broke are much cheaper to replace than XTR, the other possible option is they really did not have or find the XTR parts to complete the line.. so clean, grease and put back Acera parts to make the bike functional as it is..

Buen trabajo, pero deberías haber reemplazado esos componentes de referencia Shimano Acera (que se nota fueron de refacción) por unos que estuvieran a la altura de los de referencia Shimano XTR para que quedara más original.
Would probably shortened that steerer tube, repainted some of the XTR kit and not put an Acera rear mech on and repainted the fork. Nice job on the frame paint job though
Sinceramente me encanta como la has dejado, ha quedado estupenda, la verdad es que aunque sea una máquina antigua, sigue siendo una bici muy valida y vigente, la verdad , es que es una máquina estupenda para el día a día.

I have my own cannondale delta v700 1996, bought it from 0 km, I ve changed all the equipment, with hollowtech, wheels 27.50, with v-brakes, its my best bike althoug I have 3 29ers more... hugs from argentina

THIS IS NOT A CANNONDALE Los ciadros cannondale tienen las soldaduras pulidas y el cableado va por debajo. Se ve en muchos detalles que no es una cannondale, como las vainas, tirantes,..TODO en el cuadro dice que no es una cannondale

Todo bien pero por el tipo de soldadura esa bicicleta no es cannondale,desde los modeos 80s las soldaduras están pulidas,una característica de las bicis cannondale.

This is not Cannondale frame. Cannondale from that era had welds grinded and sanded smooth.
I agree. The CNC'd chainstays aren't Cannondale either.

It is not a cannondale. If it was a C'dale it would have a wishbone, another tubes and for that models some headshock forks, with its special headset tube diameter. The cable to the derailleur is way too long.
I think the same... that's not a cdale, not even an M series.

the v-brake booster if she had put it gold or yellow it would have been great to harmonize with the Volvo team color.
the rear and front derailleurs at least I would have gotten some used Xt, well... it overshadowed the restoration.
It's really a Mongoose IBOC from around 1996.
The cable housing is long because there's no housing stop on the frame.

The restoration of the Canondale Bicycle Mark is amazing. But why do you remove the Samchully bicycle mark thoroughly every time when restoring the Samchully bicycle?

It looks like somehow the original XTR rear derailleur was replaced with a 2012 Acera M360 RD.
Those pulley wheels for the rear derailleur are quite worn, and wondered whether you checked the sidewall of the rims??

This isn´t an old Cannondale, Cannondale never build such a frame (btw...see the weldings - definitely not C). It has a different chainstay and the shiftcables on the toptube (C has on downtube).

Really nice paintjob! Why is the rear derailleur hose complete from top tube to down. Polished CODA handlebar and stem with yellow grips would be hice. Acera front and rear mechs... Agggrrr. More videos please!

You forget the fork service. It's nice all the bike parts are clean and regrease.

the cranks was self extracting so why did you remove that cap in the end and use crank puller instead?
did u skip the suspension fork restoration? pitty. so easy and so necessary. Also, it`d b good to place some grease onto RD springs, instead of one that was washed out, cause RD won`t work well and won't keep alive for a long. Speaking about the paint job, it'd b good 2 use an acid primer or something to get rid of aluminum oxide and make the paint stay on the frame. Anyway, thanks 4 the video, that was the nice one)
Got a missing nut, look inside one of the plastic disks covering the bolts. I was looking for one for an hour, and had to cut it out with an ax

The yellow on the fork needs some touch up needs grease on driver body and crank axle the head set spacers are WAY to Many but other than that it’s a good looking Bicycle
MIght be 1997 M1000 because it came in polished silver and 1-1/8 headtube
