The bear charge animation looks like a mobile game
It reminds me of those old arcade games you’d find in bowling alleys from back in the 90’s.
the whole trailer looks like an arcade game... if its not then they made the trailer for the wrong audience

The animal animations, beside the bear, looked good and the overall appearance of the animals was great, but the movement and such flinter talked about was exactly this! Looked cheap. 🤷♂️
looks like another garbage Unreal Engine 5 game. Trying to blend reality with gaming and falling as short as possible.

CotW has lost too many players over the years. Dropping the ball too many times, poor game files management, and far too many DLC's now. I stopped playing it in 2020 when I was transferring files from my C drive and somehow my entire game save data got deleted because it's stored in your C drive rather than in your steam account.
@Crazy_Sue I played on consoles and the DLCs are actually a plus. They added so much content to the game and it's decently priced. I switched to Way of the Hunter but It's because Cotw is more of an arcade shooter than a simulation but it depends on preference
Im not gonna put my full thoughts here but ill say one thing... That elk and lion looked absolutely amazing.
Compared to the elk in COTW, which are in desperate need of a rework, poor models, colors and antlers all around…
@@largeman1624 They made a rework with one of the last updates. They have done a lot of reworks of existing animals. Water buffalo, fox etc.

One thing that caught my eye was during the Coming Soon end of the trailer, you've got hoof tracks going across the screen, along with a horse neigh. Sounds like we'll get a game with horses as a mode of transportation. Curious, if like the elk in the back of the truck, would we be able to put our trophy on the back of a horse though.
I was wondering if that was even part of the trailer? It felt out of place so I didnt talk about it xD I like the way you're thinking tho! RDR2 esque!

I've been following this game for years now, I wish i could say i'm still interested but the lukewarm sporadic posts and lack of clarity or information from the devs has killed the interest for me. I hope it is a great game and i still kinda hope it lives up to its promise but man they should have waited before anouncing it...

Games are sometimes advertised 5 years before they are released......like Wukong.....it happens. only ahunting game with elephants.....definitely getting it....
I mean just forget about it until it comes out lol. Better than to keep anticipating and having expectations when they still just wanna work on it.
One of the biggest things to me is the .416 Rigby rifle. I love rifles and cartridges and one of the things I consider most in a hunting game is the variety of rifle and cartridge options. .416 Rigby just happens to be one of my favorites as well lol

The Muleys do look like a mobile game, while the ducks look like the ones in WOTH, but it’s a stunning use of UE5
I thought the mulies looked alright tbh. Those are the same models as WOTH. The antlers aren’t my favorite
@@Flintergaming There is ghosting on the trailer which means they are running DLSS from Nvidia or the FSR from AMD. This being said if their computer cannot run the game at a playable rate without that our will certainly run it even worst. I'm all in for a new hunting game, but this one smells
Kinda gives me Cabela's vibes, and that's not a compliment. It's pretty, and claims some cool features, but something just seems a little "Call of Duty but with deer" to me. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Last I had heard of this game was close to 3 years ago when ZaggiDK was covering the dev cycle for this game after it was announced
I hope this will be good. I'm back to playing Classic after over 2000 hours in COW and about 1500 in WOTH. For me Classic is the best hunting game. I will be waiting for Flinter to bring us more information in 2025. Thanks.
Ultimate hunting looks so good. The scoope screen i remeber the developer explained on facebook a few years ago that you can choose if you want a more classic look like COTW. Or seen in the trailer where you can see allot around the scope. Personally i like it. I never close my left eye when shooting IRL so i like it. I just learned to shoot that way as a kid because i started out with shootgun on small game targets.
It took so long I'm happy
Ultimate Hunting looks incredibly good. That Africa map has all the species I wish were on Vurhonga!

I think (not completely sure) the scope is changeable in settings. so you can choose the scope shown in the trailer, or the woth cotw type scope zooms.

It looks ok. The animals look amazing but certain things are definitely in question.

The animals look so much worse then other hunting games. Especially that africa reserve. it genuinely just looks like the zoo tycoon 2 pre rendered intro.
animal models look great, that elk shudder to the gun shot right at the start was fantastic. Animation of the bear running near the boar was off. It has a lot to like and runs rings around theHunter visually, especially the redwood forest.
Being able to utilize vehicles for more than just a method for opening up maps and getting to a spot quickly is something all of these games need. I play COTW and WOTH and don't use vehicles at all after I've unlocked all the fast travel locations.
Something else I'd love to see are monopods and being able to use backpacks to steady your aim.
Silencers are a cool thing to have but I don't feel like I'd use them. I prefer to use bows and crossbows for those intense silent hunts but each to their own, it's really nice to have the choice.
Imagine having to haul your hunt back to the shop or where someone for taxidermy would be super cool. Where you can’t just stack animals and claim them all. You have to actually transport your hunt back to camp or wherever it may be.
I like how he uses the same gun on the elephant on the baboon lol
These are very true statements on what you’re talking about and hope they do something to make it improve it better!
The small scope in the beginning is the "quick scope". Every scope has that ability and all scopes have the ability to also have a normal scope in like the 2nd one you showed.
I remember old hunting games in the early 2000's had bullet cam, it would be so awesome to have that option again

Pro: Great that they are realistic about this being a game and hunting virtually.
Con: Anything not right in front of you, animal, vegetation etc looks like a green screen backdrop image, fake as hell.
Hope it gets some more tweaks before release. Still won't beat Classic or cotw

I think it would be cool if when you down a big animal, you can just ask for people to come and collect it, but it takes a bit of time, and a low risk of losing the animal or some part of it. So when you have a trophy animal, you want to retrieve it yourself with the truck.
Cant wait for this game. Gives me early 2000's cabela vibes and the range of different animals is amazing

Didn't quite get close enough to eye relief. there's still a dark ring obscuring the view inside the scope so it is a little too far from the eye.
Recoil could've been a small bit heavier as well.

I love the idea of having to transport your kill, weapon customization, animals fighting. If only COTW would add these it would be perfect!

I like the idea of having need zones u can place but I'm not a huge fan of baiting in general

@@joostosan The way of dumping the food onto the field and then using a tree stand and waiting for the animal to come. That's how I hunt irl.

I have similar concerns. But I wasn’t high on Way of the Hunter before it came out! So hopefully it’s similar with this, only hands on with the game will tell.
The sight picture of the .416 is bit wrong the front sight should be lower , keep the bead in level in the rear V
Looks good, gameplay and mechanics will tell the rest. Definetly gets a spot on my games to purchase list, if the independent gameplay reviews are good.

Im getting more convinced that games with UE5 engine feels all the same now. These games; snow simulator, recycle simulator, pax diem, ships at sea and many more seems like all the developers got together to release unfinished demos as early access to make a fast buck. I get studios are not AAA production but steam summer fest seemed like more than half the games had similar bugs, design layout, and animations. Check it out. there are so many negative and mixed reviews floating in 2024.

Really like the preview of that game, i think it will be decent. What i dream for tho, is a hunting game similar to CotW that i can play in VR. The quality of the VR should be similar or better than Horizon Call of the mountain on PSVR2. That would be sick to feel like we are on the field hunting.
If this isn't like way of the hunter, having to manage every single animal, this will probably become my second hunting game after thehunter cotw.

Really like the fact that a hunting game finally adds surpressors. Whats the best about this tho, is that you can Pick a caliber to go with different rifles. Some graphics look kinda like a phone game tho lol

I think it is a rendered Clip! at 1:28 it looks like HD Doom Guy Hunting. And that entire Perfect Angle, Perfect Point Aiming is nothing what a Player do. To the Scope you see that the Hands and the Weapon is Layering over a other Clip, first it dosen't zoom in and Secound the Character is in a Foggy Swamp at Dawn surrounded by Fallen Trees. In the Scope is no Fog and it is Day time. And lastly that Baboon Animation..i think i saw it the last time in the 1993 Game the 7 Guest.
If they can just get the ballistics right I'll be happy. Big game animals should not be shrugging off a vital hit from a high caliber rifle.

Another game that`ll have realistic game engine. I can`t wait to see. I still miss turkeys from Way of the Hunter. Why don`t we have turkeys there yet? Maybe on the new map, we`ll see that in August. Or maybe they`ll give us a more realistic tiger hunt too. :D Who knows.

All I want to know is: Do they have flintlock muskets, flintlock rifles, wheellock rifles, matchlock harquebuses, wooden self bows, javelins, atlatls, slings, and 16th century hunting crossbows. Preferably one with a cranequin... But ah well. I guess it'll be modern firearms and plastic bows all over again.
No modern bows are made with plastic, it’s all either aluminum or carbon fiber

500 S&W and 700 Nitro Express is confirmed same with .357 and .44 plus there are different calibers and types such as hollow points and soft points (ballistics will be realistic unlike COTW)

Like you say, the animations are not too smooth for my taste, they are kinda clunky, and the scope looks like you are not even aiming with it, graphics and models are amazing, but i won't confirm anything until they show some full gameplay and see how it looks like.
i am hyped but i want leave a reminder here: DO NOT EXPECT ANYTHING
if this game is even close to what i looks like right now, there is no way that current games keep a playerbase other than potato users (no offense, my pc is slowly growing sprouts too lol)
i have the feeling this game will end up kind of "arcadie?" and underwhelming but my hopes are still up.
it also could be a real evolution for the genre, who knows.

I am very disappointed with the stiff animation, plastic guns and equipment, and at times very low quality terrain and very VERY flat textures but, I am hoping with time (and less cryptic marketing) they can really turn the game around. The animal models are top notch tho

I'm glad this game is actually gonna let you hunt animals like elephants, baboons, hippos, etc. this is not real life, who cares about conservation when you are in a game where you're going to be hunting 100s of animals likely just in a single species alone.
I mean you can legally hunt all those animals.Botswana had a overpopulation of elephants,Zambia the hippos and all over South Africa baboons are considered agricultural pests

@@i_s_u-c_l_o_n_e637 You don't hear about it, but they make lots of money off it. Hunts even end up killing more than the tags because if they aggro an elephant the guy doesn't want they just put it down and keep looking. Think it's bush elephants. Plains elephants are the ones ppl can't hunt.

I don’t know about the elephant looking “off”, but to me the monkey from the blind looked kind of “off”. Its scale looks too big, and… I don’t know, it just looks “off” to me. That said, I’ve always been pretty bad with proportionalities.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still hoping the game comes out great, and massive props to the dev(s) for making it to this point, but I think I’ll wait for more of a “gameplay trailer” before I’m sold. I’m kinda’ scared for this project.
You are right about the elephant. I believe they're using GiM for some of the species and are making modifications along the way (they will be replaced with in-house models if the game does well). Reason being they're an extremely small team of only five people. The baboon is great, though, and yes, they really do get that big.

I have spoke with then year ago bout the scopes theres a setting, dont be turned away from these none filled screen ones. i will send a msg to Flinter as proof and he can comment back here, as proof.
