Rented this car for a road trip all around Tasmania last yr for 2 wks. Strong contender for that purpose in my opinion. Only negatives needs a better sound system and software interface system.
@xayvath5221 The new Pajero will be a completely new package, new interior, new tech and a total overhaul of the old one. I think it will be the best of both worlds with shininess and capability.
I've owned a Pajero Sport Exceed for 2 years and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good family sized 4WD. The only negative for me is the standard Toyo Open Country A32 tyres (these are not A/T tyres)... they are absolutely crap in wet weather in 2WD, but the ESC improves grip if used in 4WD mode. I just upgraded to a new set of Falken Wildpeak AT3W All terrains... problem solved!
I also have the Falken Wild peak tires, but on an outlander and they are awesome tires.. I wish Mitsubishi brings the pajero to the US. Sadly we don't have it here.
I have brought it, 100% Amazing exterior and interior design, reliable, built quality, SUV 4x4, mileage, luxury’s feel with impressive leather interior but not a cheap hard plastic like other SUV’s. Pajero sport with excellent Engine and performance, great off-road experience.. no price cheat, worth having it.
Great to hear a journalist acknowledge that there are some advantages to having a 4*4 that’s a more practical size than the current batch of obese tanks
Customers complain about unreliability german cars loaded with tech and redundant features that break and fail way before you get your moneys worth, but they dont like a car that has none of those tech feature but will last forever

I have not heard of that problem with the Triton or the PS. My friend with other brands who had issues were from short town/city driving & a simple blast out the road seemed to rectify the issue
Driving around town what are your thoughts on the Pajero Sport VS Outlander? I like the size of the PS especially in the 3rd row but since its an older platform compared to the Outlander not sure if its worth spending a bit more to get the PS.

I own this car and a prado 120 I find the Pajero sport great my Prado feels like a truck and I don’t agree with a lot (most)of your statements but you may interests elsewhere
Not really in every point. Sport have solid rear axle and it's body on frame which is the way Mitsubishi should've stay with their main suv. Other than that, even eliminating the frame won't stop the rust, which is another issue with the previous Prado competitor. I'd rather have them make new Sport, based on new Triton which got slightly bigger (especiall width) and as a result - improved interior space. The only missing thing is short wheelbase option.
@@Kierdziol They do plan to produce a 2026 Pajero Sport based on the new Triton. Mitsu said that their Next real Pajero will still be its own breed so probably still an unibody design similar to the new Land Rover.
Dated? Really? OOOhh it's plastic panels are not a plasticky as they could be. If a model has been around 30 - 40 years I'm thinking they got it right, change every 2 years I think I'm SOL if I buy it.
It's discontinued buddy. If you want fancy interior why would you choose the pajero (which looks more outdated than the pajero sport) and go for the shiny land/range rover. Not sure I’d say about to be. The new gen hasn’t been revealed, so we’re at minimum six months from the new model arriving in Australia - probably more
Nice review, I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the updated Pajero Sport, hopefully they style it well, and keep it reasonably priced. I’d do it’s likely to be my next car.
Yes, I see a lot of people in the Emergency department after rollovers with 4wds. Minor injuries usually. You would definitely be silly to get a 4wd if you are going to drive at high speed or don't need an off-road vehicle. If you are driving behind one you can see them lean just going around a corner.
