Don't sleep on the 10th anniversary blue one - it's got a Torsen, the 6-speed, it came on Michelin Pilot Sports from factory and the engine has better pistons, flywheel and conrods (supposed to be the RS grade Japan got). It's got some of the later chassis bracing, the paint is unique, got bilsteins, and it does come with the factory tupperware bodykit. I believe the 6-speed on it is special or the Torsen, it's some weird ratio, or maybe not the gearbox but at least the LSD is a 3.9 or something. I think US market regular sixes are 3.6 instead of 4.1 like the rest of the world? Or maybe that's just Australia.
i dont think any USA cars got the 3.6 from factory, could be wrong but I think thats an AUS only deal. you can order the 3.6 ring gear from mazda still though.
Do you have a link to any more info on this? I just bought a 10AE and have never heard of the RS Grade before. Curious if the internals are any stronger or better, or any other differences.

That 9k one is perfect. It's not hard to find oem seats which will come with the rails already on them. I would add a non-airbag seatbelt though so its not just harnesses. So long as your head isnt taller than the seats, you're fine. You can just keep the comfy seats in and switch to buckets if youre going to the track. I know "mods don't add value" but those are pretty desirable and tasteful mods imo. If you already want to go to the track you don't have to spent $$$ on sourcing wheels, tires, rollbar, and safety equipment. Plus the aftermarket head unit looks nice and prolly adds bluetooth, backup cam, and maps. Huge plus in a car with no space to put your phone. Plus its a vvti model with the 5 speed and LSD, second best nb spec after the mazdaspeed. Plus the custom gauge cluster is cool and I'd wouldnt spend the $140 on it myself. I think 9k is very reasonable. Perfect balance between street/track car.

NB is absolutely the sweet spot of all Miatas. Still related to the NA, simple, but with thoughtful additions. Anyone who says the NC is better is smoking crack.
The problem is the stock seats sit super high up and basically runs anyone over 5'8" into the top. The "foamectomy" doesn't do nearly enough for most average or above average height men. So you're mostly stuck with racing bucket seats that aren't compatable with the 3 point belt. If you have some money to spend you can get Lotus Elise or Elise rep seats. But then those are uncomfortable and unsupportive. Personally I just take my chances with the roll bar, racing bucket, and 5 points.
The reason the NB looks good and the NC looks gross is because they coincided w/ the RX's of their time. The NB was meant to share styling cues of the FD RX-7 and the NC with the RX-8.
netgears wrong on the trackish miata. It's not all or nothing when it comes to these dailyable track toys. Yes you can have double dins, AC, and a spongebob air freshener and still be in compliance with a track, have your fun and drive back home with your AC and tunes. (as bad as NB AC is). As someone who seemed to be more aware than this, I'm a little dissapointed. In fact, ripping out carpets and stereo is far more annoying if you're trying to sell.
You missed the point, I'm saying that doing track oriented mods on a street car is dumb. A street car will never be a track car, unless you completely make it a track car.
@@carfriendsimulator9981 There's probably a lot more cars that see track use on track days than there are competition built shells that see races.
