yo so i just started i’m 13 and i don’t know if a 75 flex is good for me i can barely flex it so should i stay with this stick and get stronger or should i get a lower flex stick like 65
It depends on how much you cut off of the stick, I have an 85 flex stick, I cut about 9 inches off of it and it's now 107 flex, so it all depends on your size and weight and how long you want your stick to be, also take what type and brand stick your using into consideration, for example some sticks are made whippier and some made stiffer depending on the type and brand that you use, just take those ideas into consideration and you'll know what type of stick is best for you.
Every season I come up with 2 things I must do. This Winter season is learn how to ice skate backwards and learn how to play hockey. Should be fun lol.
if you are a senior i would sujest a 70 - 83 flex... the guy in the video said 70 - 85 but it actually goes from 70 to 83. good luck with your stick choose :)
Hey bud, im 5'8" and 140 too. I have always used an 75, I love a short stick so when I cut it down, depending on the brand I normally am left with between and 85-90 flex. This is just a tip, seeing as we are very similar in size/weight. Good luck, thats just my little information.
That rebok is so nice.. a guy at a store told me 102flex was ok for me.. im only 155lbs i can barely use it.. and i have another one that is 87 flex it is still hard for me to even use that 1.. im tempted to use my easton Z bubble from like 8 years ago and it has 50 flex!!!
I got the warrior dolomite DD stick with grip, 75 flex with draper curve. My best advice is if your going to cut off a couple inches, go with a 75 flex, because getting a 85 then cutting some off is going to leave you with a stiff stick..
Thanks for replying so fast! Also for my height and weight should i get a senior or should i stick with intermediate for a couple more months? I'm 5'6 121 pounds and 13.
Ive noticed hockey is similar to snowboarding, skateboarding, and baseball. You measure the stick length just like a snowboards and theres a factor of flex, they're both in cold areas and use wax. I seen hockey players hit their sticks on stuff like how skaters bang their boards when their friend lands a trick. And with roller hockey and skating theres the wheel durometer and size and bearing abec's and stuff. And for the skates they have this oven bake form fit thing like they do sometimes for baseball gloves. Hockey seems to have its own little thing like baseball also with similar videos. Like these "whats in my equipment bag" videos n stuff.
@@HandsOfCinderblock the flex wouldnt matter considering how trash I was at skating lol Just started playing again right before covid, now with much worse knees and wrists 🤷♂️
@icehockeywarehouse Hi Erik, thanks for your fast reply! As the scratch is really going into the deeper parts of the blade, I'm going to send the stick back to get a new one. Once again, thanks for your help! :-)
@jonge95 I'm a big fan of bauer vapor's. They are amazing sticks. Ive heard people say the the blade breaks on slapshots. But i'm much like you, as i mostly use wristers and snapshots and havent experienced any problems. Super accurate stick.
@xcardkingx go with something between a 65-100. If you take more slapshots then go with a stiffer flex. More wrist shots, go with a lower flex. I use only composite sticks, and I've never broken one. First find a cheap stick on clearance, test the flex, and choose which one I guess lol. Try to find an Easton synergy on clearance. I got a 160$ synergy for 50$ at johnny macs. I'm also bout the same size as you, so I'd choose bout a 100 flex.
Respond to this video... just sayin, im 5'11 and around 115-120 and im using a 59inch stick with a 100 flex, honestly its the best stick ive ever used, so dont always take someones word. choose what feels best, flex a few sticks to find the best one
I tried my 50 flex junior stick to mess around at open ice, and i had way better stick handling w/ it b/c of the flex or b/c the blade was heavy and separated. Idk if the stick is supposed to flex wen you puck handle but it def helps me .. the 87 is to stiff and feels rly uncomfortable to stick handle unlss im playing D

same prob, I tried out a junior and an intermediate, the intermediate performed much better for me. I recommend probably a high jr flex or the lowest intermediate flex. I weighed about 15 pounds more than u as a 12 yr. 5'5 120. I would recommend u to get an intermediate, it will last much longer, and will perform better
Depends on what kind of player you are. I'd research nhl players and see what they use and divide it by their body weight. I.e. Ovechkin uses a 79 flex and is 235lbs (79÷235=34%) which is similar to you using a 35 flex at 105lbs (35÷105=33%)

The stick arrived with a huge scratch on the blade (about 6cm long, I'm about to contact the dealer) which is quite deep. I just wondered whether this mark will have any effect on the durability of the stick? I heard about blades that broke because of water inside?
Hey guys, i just recently purchased an Easton Mako Shaft at a great price from your company. It's a 100 flex, it seemed a little short to me so I added a 2 inch extension to it. I'm 6'2"/245lbs. What flex should I be at and by adding the 2 inch extension to my 100 flex shaft what would the new flex of it be? Thanks for being such a great company. These videos rock!
Im 16, weigh 120 pounds, and my height is 5' 11" What flex should I have and should i get Senior or Intermediate? I feel like i should have an intermediate stick because of my weight, but a senior stick because of my height. So what flex in which category? thank!
Im 15, 130, 5'5 playing AAA and I use a 50 flex and a 65 flex. Its more preference and hand size. Senior shafts are far to thick and I find them impossible to flex. No point in using it if you have to shoot with your hands and not let the stick do some of the work.
Ok I'm sure your tired of getting Q's, but I'm 19 and barely on the 5'6" mark, literally like 5'5" and weigh bout 119lbs (8.5 stone) and just getting into actually PLAYING hockey (I'm English and starting recreational hockey lol). Now I'm assuming I'd go for a senior size stick as I'm on the brink of it and hopefully have a bit more growth in me, just wanted to see if that's the best idea. Oh and also as I'm quite light I'm assuming mid-flex? Thanks, Rob :)
Quick question, if I weigh around 135 pounds and take mostly snapshots and am in an intermediate stick length what should I get? Also, is a stiffer or whippier stick better for snapshots/quickly elevating the puck?
Generally speaking, the butt end of the stick should be between your chin and your nose when you're in your skates. A whippier stick will be easier to lift the puck with compared to a stiffer stick. Chase at IW Hockey

I am looking af the shafts on IW web site but...I am not sure which shaft to buy.
I do not know since when the low kick shaft is on the market.
When I looked at the traditional shafts, I want to buy the CCM U+ Crazy, and it has low kick design.........I actually do not know what make it different from the low kick shafts...
if I measure 5.7 and weighs 105 ? What flex I should choose between 60 , 65 and 67 ?
