I've been playing since I was about (now 20) and I've tried numerous blades and flexes and lately I've found myself pretty comfortable with and 85 flex P88 (Kane) curve. But I'm curious what blade and flex you would suggest for me. I'm 5'11", 190lbs, Center, Huge on wrist/snapshots, only slap shots I take are one-timers, very confident handling the puck, quick release. Very curious on your input. Love IW Hockey!!

Been using P88 for a couple years, like it but am thinking of trying P92 on a mx3. Primarily like to take quick shots of the toe, do you think a little more open blade will help? (Liked the E28, but done with Easton's for a while)

Ok, I'm a 5'1 bantam AA player moving onto varsity next year. I have an extremely hard shot for my age and I have the best on my team. 45 snap shot and 70 slap shot. (Been timed before). Anyways. I had an eq 10 for my first stick and I loved it. E3 curve was amazing for me. Then I got a Ribcor 25k with a Bergeron. And my shots were kinda muffins and they weren't accurate and always missed the net. Then I got an x90 with a backstrom. And I kinda like it. But it seemed heavy. I want a curve that I can pick corners with all types of shots. Oh and btw. I can dangle. What type of curve should I get and what top of the line stick would u recommend. Thanks,

I didn't arrive to make the puck fly on the ice but I made it at street hockey

Hi, I need some help choosing a curve. I'm going to get the Bauer TotalONE NXG stick, and I have to choose between the PM9 and the P88 curve. I'm a center/winger that plays with speed, some stickhandling (not a whole lot, mostly relying on angles and speed to shake defenders), I take wrist and snap shots as well as one-timers and slapshots. I basically play a well-rounded game with speed and strength and finesse (I'm also a girl). I don't know which one to choose, I've had PM9 my whole life, but I want to consider making the switch. Which one should I choose, or how would changing to the P88 affect my game? Thanks!

Hey I have a question. I use a ccm Rbz Nugent Hopkings P19 curve. Its a good stick but I sometimes have trouble making it go in a specific direction. It seems like the curve of the stick makes the shot go to the right. I know its not me because ive been able be very accurate with a p88 curve. so i saw the new ccm reckoner...i think my 40ks graphics (&i love the actual ribs lol) im not sure if my next twig will be ribcor. im a small guy, 5'6, play wing and prefer a longer stick but still like to dangle when i can on break outs or whatever. im currently usinging an intermediate vapor 1x pm9 and my back up is my ribcor 40k p87a or rbk ribcor p874a. love the vapor 1x, super light and and great release on snappers and clappers for me at least, but the pm9 is a pretty flat curve and now that i dont play in a league with much contact, i find with the pm9 i can place my shot wherever i wsnt (i shoot from close to my toe a lot in quick game situations cuz im 5 inches shorter than everyone else lol but stamkos is the only lie 5 i can find) im willing to branch on on brands, i just am looking for a curve thats got a tad more curve than the pm9 but not as much as p88 (its a lie 6 and that causes problems for a short forward who likes a longer twig lol) i love my ribcors p97a's for break outs, puck control and dangles (alot of the time i can deke the goalie but fuck my shot up cuz the open curve and toe is not touching the ice) i was thinking maybe eastons iginla curve may have be that mix of pm9 and p88 (i def realised for shooting i need a closed curve for my accuracy) like i said im happy with my vap 1X and stamkos curve, is just hard to toe drag with or protect the puck comepared to when im using to my ribcor 40k with p87as curve lol i can handle, protect and deke better witu my ribcor, but with my 1X i can pick my spots and have a much better shot but cant handle/protect the puck aswell. i need a lie 5 and im willing to switch around brands, and curve suggestions? im basicslly looking for a pm9 with a tad more curve in it, off my head closest thing i was thinking was eastons cx iggy curve? but you know more than me lol so i was wondering what you think

I'd expect this video to be older than 2014 if you're saying that Toe curves are the least popular, they are absolutely dominating the industry up here in Canada, Mid Curves are sold second most and Mid-Heel's third most
Heel curve sales are very minimal in some parts of the country here. That's why they only offer it in the top end retail sticks and even then they are always beaten out by Toe and Mid curves

  • @NavyPanther54

What's the most similar curve to the Sherwood Coffey one? I don't care what brand, it's just hard to find a composite Coffey curve around here. I'm new to skating, but this is the one stick I've ever had and I love it, so I don't want to differ from it too much. It made me go from never touching a stick before to being a better shot in ball/floor hockey than some of my friends who played for years. I never take slapshots, I may eventually but that will be a while from now. I pretty much only take wrist shots at the moment. I guess I take a few snapshots, but since I'm not great at balancing on ice it's hard to lean into it and take a proper shot. Thanks for the help!
    Curve: Mid 9/16
    Face: open
    Toe: round
    Length: long
    Lie: 5.5
"Large mid curve helps cradle the puck while puck handling and passing. Excellent for wrist shots and snap shots."

***** Thanks for the help Chase, but I got lucky and found a Coffey curve on sale when I went with my friend!
I got the Sherwood Rekker EK9. You did a review on it as well so I figured it was worth it! Normal before tax was $85 canadian, and I got it on sale for $55. Which came to $62 after tax. Love the stick so far! The blade isn't as soft as my old one, but that's fine. I also got it in 85 flex which is better than what I had with a 90 cut short. I also love how it's not too light, and still has some weight to it. The blade looks a little bit taller than my old one, but that's perfect because I actually felt mine was a bit thin. The toe is also more squared than my old one, but I kinda like the squareness as well. So all in all I think it was a fine deal for the first stick I purchased myself. Again thanks for the backup curve!

Here is the best stick advice you can get...... Get a wood blade with three cheaper shafts, an 85, 95, 105 flex. Buy a heat gun, fool around with different curves, even chop up the blades if you need to feel a cut off toe, make sure your lie is good which you can also play around with. When you find the curve, lie, flex that fits you, you have still spent less than a 1 piece costs. You can then blow your money on a 1 piece.

Hello how are you? I have a question, I am looking for a curve that has
    Heel curve
    Open face blade
    And a square toe
By any chance do you know a curve that has all of those features? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

***** I have been using the backstom well now ovechkin all my life playing
I shoot off my toe having that technique down. I heard a p14 or p28 would be better for me what would you recommend? A p14, P28, or stick with the ovechkin curve

Hi, i used to strickly use PM9 curves, past year ive had some high end stick gifts, and ive come to decide i like the p88 and the p87a (ccm/rbk). Just wondering a comparison on the p88 vs. p87a vs. pm9 (i felt like i could pick corners and place my shots where i wanted them with my pm9, but i was looking to change to something that sort or cups the puck better and makes it a little easier for stickhandling, without sacraficings my accuracy too much. I mainly make passed and set up plays, when i shoot, mainly wrist shots/snap shots and odd one-timere/clappers if they're T'd up for me lol, only thing i noticed was the p88 was hard for me to lift the pick, and sometimes with the p87a i either get a flutter puck or shoot it a few inches over the net. Out of all the curves i used PM9 the longest but as my game is devoloping and i have more access to good sticks, just wondering out of the 3 curves what theyre pros/cons are lol finding it hard to pick one lol i dont lean much into my shots snd recently moved to low kicks

hey thanks alot, i thought the new P87a was the new crosby curve since RBK is moving over to CCM? isnt the P87a similar to the P92 and ccm's Nug-Hops?, ive never tried the original crosby, is it much different than the P87a i have on my CCM Ribcor 40k?

    • @user-cd2cz3tv3u

and yes ive tried a nexus 8000 and tacks 50, but they were way to tall for me and im light so i tried moving to an intermediate stick lol which has been going well for me so far since i can actually flex it lol ( i weigh 135 and take quick shots rather than load up )

***** hey thanks for the reply and explaining that for me. sounds like a nice curve, minus the length being a little longer (i always like short-med curves) as far as it being a little more closed and having a little more curve, it sounds like if the P88 and the P87A had children, the P29 would be the product haha (never seen the P29, just going off the description), btw when you said "Technically the P92 is a toe curve" did you mean the P29 curve? because to me the bauer P92, CCMs P19 (nug-hops) and CCM/RBK P87A all look very very similar to me. Are the P29's available? i know when CCM releases their new RBZ and UT, i wanna grab one of them for next season and ill def keep the P29 in mind. Thanks A lot, and off topic but are their any outstanding sticks i should save up for coming out this spring/summer? only new sticks ive seen coming out are the RBZ SB and the Ultra Tacks (out of the two which would be better for a small light guy like me who lets off quick shots, currently using ccm ribcor 40k and i love it) is there any talk of a new CCM RIbcor, or will the 40k be the top of the line for next year as well?
thanks a lot…sorry to get off topic, just really curious about this P29 curve and CCM's new Sticks (Bauer used to be my favourite, but it seem's like CCM is going over the top these days with some of their features)

    • @user-cd2cz3tv3u

ahh i had a feeling a new ribcor would be coming shortly after the new RBZ and UT. I know you said you cant say much, but has CCM offically realased any info about the new ribcor or as to when it will be coming out? i just want to avoid spending $300 on a new stick and not being crazy about it, and then 1 month later have the new Ribcor coming out (cuz im sure ill be picking that up, the 40k has been one of my favourite sticks ive used..i more or less want to try different curves on it, which is why you got me excited for this new ribcor stick with possibly the P29 curve ;)
      thanks!

Hey I'm a 5ft 7in 150lbs defencemen who take a decent amount off clappers and some writers/snappers I'm getting an apx2 and I was wonder inf the pm9 092 or p88 would suit me better I'm generally two way but I do jump up on the rush a decent amount. Thanks

***** I disagree getting a Kane curve as a defensemen on my Nexus 1000 was the worst decision I ever made. It is terrible for clappers, also a 6 lie is too big for defensemen imo. I just got a Stamkos MX3 and I love it.

    • @SavantusRBLX
      @SavantusRBLX 9 лет назад

***** Well the problem with Kane's curve also for me is that it's a lie 6. I play very low as it helps me skate faster and I just don't think it fits me.

    • @SavantusRBLX
      @SavantusRBLX 9 лет назад

***** Would a lie 6 be too big of a jump for someone who uses lie 5?

I like pattioretty’s curve, but sadly they don’t make them anymore so I got a P28 curve by Bauer. It’s pretty similar.
