You could also try wrapping the blade normally, then use something to poke through the holes. Possibly use a torch to melt the tape on a bit better.
Just a thought.
The stick is sick
Instead of tape put some sort of adhesive on the inside of the wrap-around. Tapes just going to scrape off anyways.
