I love this set so much even though I never owned it... My best friend at that time got it as a present when were little kids, but he couldn't figure out how to build it, so I built it for him since I was the ultimate LEGO geek in the neighbourhood! LOL One day I'd like to get it if I can find one in decent shape. Congrats. :)
Almost the same story as me! :) although I eventually bought a copy of it a few years ago! It's a little fragile, in the swooshability dept, compared to modern sets.. but still packs a lot in a small model!
Hi Milan, these old sets had a thin stiff plastic inner cover that was glued around the edge in a dotted pattern. This cover was shaped to match the entire inner plastic part(s) as well as the contents of those trays! Packaging was really nice, but as you can see the pile of Lego compared to the box size is... smaller.
I s tím plastovým deklem s prolisy.
1 of my first sets! (i was about 8 when this came out) It came with a hard ^plastic sheet on top of the plastic insert, preformed to hold the gears and such.
This is one of the coolest sets of my youth, which I then never had. Luckily I could buy a MISB one a few years ago. Still very nice model with great functions. Could it be that you used 1 chain link too many? In my model there is not so much slack in the landing gear mechanism. Also, if you put the rear landing wheel just one tooth (of the small bush/connector combo) forward, the rear side is higher when the gear is down. Which looks cooler imho
Excellent ! Keep going!

Thanks for the explanation.
Diato is spot on.

I have this set from when I was young, well I think 90% of it. I need to bricklink my missing pieces.
Could you do a video of your lego collection of built sets

Possibly. Thanks for letting me know.
