I might be in the minority but a like 70’s priest more than later priest. This album in particular.

@@rba8904 You can throw in all the '70s albums but, for me, the best 5 would be: Sad Wings of Destiny, Stained Class, Killing Machine, Unleashed in the East, and British Steel (fair enough, this was released in '80 but was written and started recording in '79). That's a highly impressive body of metal work that is.

The range Halford's vocie goes through in Dreamer alone is astounding.
In most other bands it'd take four different singers each specializing in a range to do that.

Priest was the 1st band to exit the blues based heavy sound (after this album)......and create the "metal" sound we know today??
Serious music critics say the "Sin after Sin" album (77) is the first true "metal" album, & one of the top 5 ever pressed??
And I agree!!!.... (after 35 yrs of listening to metal)....it is a Masterpiece... (with maybe 1 filler song)!
"Dissident Aggressor" - best "thrash metal" song ever! ....Might have been the first as well? You should check it out!

Actually Metallica sounded like Judas Priest many bands were influenced by Judas it is a known fact. Judas are the ones who gave birth to heavy metal in ‘78 with Hell bent for Leather. I have a strong suggestion for you but I’m sure you won’t bother but an all female metal band out of Japan called Lovebites, any song you check out will blow you away ruclips.net/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/видео.html

Nice review. References to Purple and Sabbath - definitely, even some Zeppelin . All that was going on at that time.
Sounds like Metallica - nope, nope, can’t agree. This came out in 1976. Metallica were still pooping in their diapers. Metallica being obviously influenced by JP (and obviously others) - yes. Metallica defining their own sound based on that influence - definitely, definitely yes. I only say this cauz I hear this a lot - JP and others sounds like Metallica when the influence is the other way around.
That said, love both bands (and 100 others) cauz Metal is the best. And, keep doing your review as I think your reviews are interesting!

Thanks! With the whole Metallica thing, i just worded it wrong, but its just the way i think, it sounds similar to the X band because i heard that song or band before hearing the song or band that influenced band X. No dissrespect meant towards it. and im not even a Metallica fan.
