Rob Halford is one of the most extraordinary vocalists of all time, and this is one of my favorite Judas Priest songs. Many thanks for your reaction, and welcome to church!
Ain't nothing like that old school Priest sound! I love how Rob uses 3 distinct vocal styles in this one (two). This is also a great illustration of the different styles of Glenn and KK. Glenn has that long & extremely soulful first solo, and then KK comes in tearing down the walls! "Victim of Changes" is another AWESOME song from this album
Early Priest is awesome! I've always thought that they did Painkiller as a to let all the young Thrash bands know that they were still the baddest band around.
I'd go so far as to say that Sad Wings of Destiny is a magnum opus, one of the greatest metal albums ever, everyone else that came after were pale imitations of this brilliance,IMO
This whole album is 🔥. Check out ,The Ripper, Victim of Changes, Tyrent, Genocide.Island of Domination, and Epitaph (this one Tipton plays the piano). Then listen to the "Unleashed in the East" live in Japan album from 1979. Halford in his prime. In 1976 I was 16 and my cousin played for me Sad Wings of Destiny album while we were visiting for a Easter holiday. Since that time I seen them live every time they came to San Diego, first with the " Hell Bent for Leather" tour then" British Steel", "Point of Entry"," Screaming for vengeance", "Defenders of the Faith" "Turbo"then "Painkiller " and The most recent was The Epitaph world tour.when Halford left I seen them with Tim( The Ripper) Owens. in 1997 Jugulator tour. Tim was in a Priest tribute band before becoming a member. Now he is the Vocalist in KK's PRIEST and you should check them out. it has more of a old school priest sound.
Judas Priest was my favorite band growing up. This album is worth listening to from start to finish. Prelude/Tyrant the first tracks on it blew my mind as a young teen when I bought the album in 85. Please do more! Peace and love brother.
Love how Rob Halford has such phenomenal control over his many different voices. The guitar work is beautiful, this is pure artwork just like the cover of the album. The singing and the instruments blend in such a beautiful way. This is such a gem of a reaction.🤘🏻
Having been a metal fan for over 40 years now. It really brings me so much joy of people experiencing the music for the first time, something I'm really sad about since I cannot anymore ;)
dude, there's a live performance of this from a British TV show back in the day you really gotta check out at your leisure. It's a phenomenal performance
I agree with the user who recommended "Beyond The Realms Of Death". My favorite Priest song ever. You must do it! There is a live version from Japan that is pretty good. But just any version live of or not is a must listen.
Just a little FYI "Dreamer Deceiver" & "Deceiver" are 2 different songs commonly played together, even live. The commercial actually cut in at the end of "Dreamer Deceiver". There are 2 other songs on that album commonly played together are "Victim of Changes" & "Epitaph"
"Run Of The Mill" from Judas Priest's first album "Rocka Rolla" was THE song that showed us how high Halford could go. Like, six octaves. "Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver" was just a show-off of Halford's proclevity and the difference between his low and high voice. The guy was/is a phenomenon. Maybe not the greatest singer that ever lived, but surely the guyy with the greatest voice, ever. Cheerio T, warm geetings from Belgium.
Released in 1974 ! Halfords vocal range is unmatched in Metal ! You heard proof ! From alto to soprano at the drop of a hat ! He climbs higher with every verse ! Could probably break a wine glass by the end of the first part before it changes
This was early Priest and this was the foundation of a 50+ year carrier. This is why they are still selling out venues 50 years later. Their sound has changed and evolved but when they were young….damn!
If you enjoyed Dreamer Deceiver you must listen to Beyond the realms of death, one of my favorite Priest songs and I have been listening to them since the release of Sad Wings.
Dude so glad youre doing this.I was born in 1966 and been a fan since first listen.I have been to every concert theyve had here(Detroit)during the eighties and nineties.Theese years are my favorite though,If you get a chance go back to the last album(Rocka Rolla) and check out-Dying to meet You. Killer vocals and one of Glens best solos trust me
Glenn Tipton said when he joined Judas Priest in 1974, there was so much potential... and u can hear it here. Back in 1975, they looked like a cross between Lynyrd Skynyrd and Rush 😂 This 1976 album 'Sad wings of destiny' was an improvement over their 1975 debut 'Rocka rolla'... but both were released on an indie UK label Gull Records... In 1976, punk rock was becoming huge in the UK, and fans did not want another heavy band like Judas Priest... so both albums flopped at the time. It got to a point where Priest was about to break up from lack of finances. It was a surprise for a US label to offer Judas Priest a contract, cos 'Sad wings of destiny' was selling well in America in the disco age! So they left Gull records in 1977 and signed w/ CBS Records to release their 3rd album 'Sin after sin' and tour the US for the first time... However, after Judas Priest became big in the 80's, Gull marketed & promoted those 2 Priest albums to ca$h in. Even today, Judas Priest gets zero royalties from their 1st two records... They even released 2 'best of Priest' records to make more money, which infuriated Priest...
Nice reaction...serve a feats for your ears...Start with this album, Sad Wings of Destiny...move to Sin after Sin then Stained Class...3 collections that really showcase JP's early years...Rocka Rolla is worth a listen but JP really began to come into their own with Sad Wings......I'm in my 60's & still get goosebumps hearing Rob's Range & the Twin axe attacks of KK & Glen....don't want to dis their Bassman as he's been there thru it all
Oh definitely most singers are affected pretty hard by age especially the ones who are very hard on their voice like Rob Halford, but somehow he has managed to maintain it to a very respectable level while performing for like 50 years
@@collinnicholasns I agree, I've seen Judas Priest about 21 times between 1981 and today. As a singer myself Rob Halford has always been one of the vocalists I look up to the most. He has lowered the key and sings the songs differently, but still effective I'm still able to convey the emotion contained in the songs.
@@neillenet291 ok definitely jealous now I have been listening to them for years but living in a small town and being broke I have never had a chance to see them live. I'm hoping to get the chance soon. Hopefully in the next couple years. I have watched many of the live videos and they are all extremely well done.
Just check out Stained Class allready! The song or the album, doesn't matter! Their second best album after Screaming For Vengance IMO. Been A fan since I was under 1 year old, now I'm 35. Rock on!
I’d love to see your reaction to the new Metal Piano Music’s channel of their Judas Priest songs. They just released a piano arrangement of The Sentinel and I cannot stop playing it 😍
OMG, you finally got around to Dreamer Deceiver. It is a Priest classic.
Arguably the best vocal performance & arguably best guitar solo in metal history combined in one metal song.
No argument, fact!
@@jonmallek7746 Hands down!!
Fantastic bass line under the first solo too.
Fatos! 🤷🏻♂️ Essa música é tão foda, que pessoas tentaram suicídio ao ouvi-la.
It's still amazing to me how many styles both musically and vocally this band can pull off.
They’re the best
I love all JP styles older and newer
This song is a perfect example of Rob Halfords vocal abilities
Rob Halford is one of the most extraordinary vocalists of all time, and this is one of my favorite Judas Priest songs. Many thanks for your reaction, and welcome to church!
One of the highest notes ever hit by a man!!!
😂😂😂
Epic song and will live for ever
Song proves why Glenn Tipton is the Greatest Solo Guitar writer and player on the Planet!
Rob and that range!!! He’s the absolute best!
I'm not kidding when I say this, no one comes close.
Ain't nothing like that old school Priest sound! I love how Rob uses 3 distinct vocal styles in this one (two). This is also a great illustration of the different styles of Glenn and KK. Glenn has that long & extremely soulful first solo, and then KK comes in tearing down the walls!

Early Priest is awesome! I've always thought that they did Painkiller as a to let all the young Thrash bands know that they were still the baddest band around.
When Pavarotti was asked who is the greatest vocalist in history, without hesitation he replied "Rob Halford"
Your joking?😮
Nice try.
It’s official 😂I’m binge watching your metal vids 🎉
Yea, man. I fell deep into the metal pit doing these videos. Now it’s the only thing I can listen to.
My favorite Priest album...❤️
The very first Priest album I got was this. I wore it out.
Dreamer Deciever is a Masterpiece in Music History.
I'd go so far as to say that Sad Wings of Destiny is a magnum opus, one of the greatest metal albums ever, everyone else that came after were pale imitations of this brilliance,IMO
Agreed @@scottgalloway345
I love Sad wings, Sin after sin, and stained class. Amazing how they transitioned from that to painkiller.
if played this and painkiller back to back most people would think it's a completely different band
even the transition from Rocka Rolla to Sad Wings is really amazing
Every groove of this album is worthy..
TRUTH

I love the many voices and levels halford has always had

That whole album is a masterpiece. Especially the music
This is the best era for judas priest !!!!!

i grew up with this at 14 in 77,do sin after sin.glad u discovered this. They predated maiden.
It was funny when you almost mentioned Pink Floyd that's one of the influences I hear big time too. Early Pink Floyd.
So cool dude! My favorite album
Song is a masterpiece

Beyond The Realms Of Death. Great Priest song. The first solo is one of Glen’s best, even though it’s slower. Faster doesn’t always mean better.
70"s Judas Priest....one of the best things ever happened to music industry
MONSTER MASSIVE POWER VOCALS !!! OLD SCHOOL JUDAS PRIEST !!!
Priest are the nr 1.. you hear a huge variety on highest quality...

Nobody can pull off that voice like he can. Deep to high.
Dreamer Deceiver - best song in the universe!
My second favorite Priest song, Run of the Mill is the best.
The greatest song ever recorded.
Fantastic you got around to doing this classic thanks for this.Beyond the Realms of Death and Genocide should be next on your list
"Run Of The Mill" from Judas Priest's first album "Rocka Rolla" was THE song that showed us how high Halford could go. Like, six octaves. I don't listen to a lot of Priest, but I love SWOD. Halford's vocals here are absolutely incredible.
One of, if not the BEST Judas Priest record 🤘⚡🤘
This is the best rob vocal ever
Great song.... You will also love Diamonds and Rust. Amazing old school Priest there.
Been my favorite Priest song for a long long time
Greatest guitar solo of all time

There is an arpeggio that sounds a lot like pink floyd
"Epitaph/Island Of Domination" Next!🔥🔥🔥
Goosebumps from Halford... this album is great... 🤘🤘🤘
Old Priest = 🔥🔥🔥
Glen and KK. What a duo.
Beyond the realms of death and Victim of chances are two early priest song that are definitely worth checking out.
Love Sad Wings and Sin After Sin, some of the best Judas Priest songs of their whole catalog
This was early Priest and this was the foundation of a 50+ year carrier. This is why they are still selling out venues 50 years later. Their sound has changed and evolved but when they were young….damn!
there gonna be at MGM GRAND CASINO AT THE NATIONAL HARBOR MD. OCT. 28TH 2021
I started Judas Priest with British Steel but quickly dived in and started listening to earlier stuff.
Love it, keep it up. Much greetings from Norway. Judas Priest is amazing..

This 1976 album is a classic heavy metal gem.... some killer tracks , try VICTIM OF CHANGES from that album
One of my favorite Priest albums.
Try “Turning Circles” off of Point of Entry. Criminally underrated Priest song imho.
Master Class of classic metal. Yeah Painkiller to this is their A to Z.
Really great reaction. Victim of Changes should really be next from the classic Priest.
Stained Class is also a Masterpiece of an album that you must check out for beginning to end.
"Grinder" live! At the hard rock!🤘
"Steeler" live! At the hard rock!🤘
Listen to The Rage one of Halfords best. Mid old school
Listen to Run of the Mill, beautiful ballad too
if your diggin the early epic Preist you gotta hit the 1978 Beyond The Realms Of Death ...youll go crazy its a true epic gem ;)
Beyond the Realms of Death 🔥🔥🔥
Now everyone can hear why this is the best band.
Victim of changes next please 🙏
Do One Shot at Glory!
Beyond the realms of death studio version you will love it two guitar solos. A melodic song that will eventually rip your face off !
Rob was amazing
The end of Deceiver is the greatest musical orgasm...
Judas Priest invented thrash metal in the 70s.
I'll argue that Blue Oyster Cult did that before them. Check out The Red And The Black from Tyranny And Mutation, and Teen Archer.
@@donlebo6824 I'll check it out, I'm pretty sure I've heard it but years ago
Epitaph and Island Of Domination from the same album next?

Im not familiar with their music at all, but this was quite good
Try Saints in Hell, you will dig it !

Check out Sinner. The live version from 1982 is fucking incredible
it's wicked cool!
Rob Halford had a six octave range back then.
