You can see the board he removed. It is a vertical component mount. At 10:51 The initial flyover shows both segments. One is at the upper right of the PCB, likely the input pre-amp section from the location. The other stares you in the face at the above noted timestamp. Vertical PCB sub-assembly mounts conserve main PCB "real estate", and are also useful if the original circuit gets 'massaged' after it initial release without the needed space to implement it and not wanting to perform an entire new layout. They look the same size as the missing pieces you referenced. Easier pick and place and a simple breakout once the PCB gets to the customer for final assembly. Many of these get their thru hole parts put on by hand since the count is not very high and the labor is not very costly.

Those break points on the pcb are known as 'mouse bites'. They route the board as normal (the smooth part) and then drill the tab ... then break the board out of the panel after it rides through the reflow line.
Those "missing" tabs on the main board were populated and soldered to the main board in a vertical orientation. You can see both of the "missing" sections in your video. One is located near the power input and the other is soldered to the main board near the place where it was "removed."

Those missing sections ARE actually on the amp. They do things like this so that those knock out sections can all get soldered in the same process through the wave solder machine. Then all the have to do is knock them out, and solder the knock out boards in the appropriate places manually.

Thank you for all your testing and insight. I am searching for an amp to power two Dayton Audio 12” HO DVC subs. They are rated at 700 RMS. Based upon your experience, what two or three options would you suggest?
The two cuts are a way to save money on manufacturing. If you look closely, there are two "daughter boards" soldered vertically inside the amp motherboard. Those sizes seems to correspond to them. So its likely they just snap them, and solder them where they need to go. 3 boards in 1
10:40 the answer to this question is looking you in the face They have the pcb manufactured with those snapped/snapoff sections which are themselves small pcbs which you can see mounted vertically at the top right and the other is right next to the snap recesses
I mean, a lot of what is checked on this channel is wayyy off. But at 4 ohms, it's still less than 20% off(18 and 14% under), then at 2 ohms, it's only 6.7 and .11% under. Do any of these provide variances at all? these may still be within what should be epxected.
The missing board parts are standing soldered vertically smaller piece right by where the chunks are missing in the other piece down to the output side of the amp

He was the Pioneer rep here back in the daze... His FIRST CELL BILL was over 1200,00 dollars...... I remember his distress...LOL.... Hawaii was the TEST BED for Cellular technology thus.... it came here first them... BOOM.... more BOOM....LOL.... WELL It's 2021 and the cheap POWER is WUDI... and the other end... Love the channel, have a question for everyone. Ok so most cars with sunroofs have those pressure vents in the rear corner panels near the trunk and bumper. Now im running 6.5ft3 enclosure with 2 sa15d4rev3 in a 2020 koa Optima special edition. Took my intire trunk. Those little vents vibrate so bad and is very annoying. Cant block them and you dont want to remove them as they are extremely important. Has anyone come up with a solution to slow the flow of air without blocking them but killing the vibrating flap noise. Thought about fiberglass batting of some sort or a mesh that allow air flow but very slow?
The two pieces that are clipped off of the circuit board inside or actually the input filter and the other part on the board that Clips in, it's all made in an assembly line and then all they do is click the pieces off the circuit board and plug them in and it's good to go
No it didn't reach the rated power, But the amp is only around $80 I believe. There's a 5800W (not really) Wu monoblock for that amount. So really given the amps overall output, that ain't too bad. Though it is kinda sneaky using same amp model numbers as Skar. But that's China for ya.

I think you should include a watt per dollar category in your videos for all those new amps that you test 😁😁 so its easyer to see whitch is most cost effective,...just a suggestion 🙋
I second the motion D-Wiz
3rd!
4th 👍🏽
A buck a watt is only valid for a sound quality amp.. at least itis I.M.H.O....( thinkin bout those 90's Vintage - Alpine/Fosgate/Orion/PPI/ the list goes WAAAY on lol)
Class D amps are efficient, cheap power that i would use for subs that need GOBBS of power on a budget ...
Class A or A/B amps i use for my
Tweeters, and my upper midrange..
Lower midrange and subs can be ran with class d amps...
Sub bass needs 20x the power for humans to be even cause of our hearing efficiency..
Now these are ONLY MY preferences...
I need to have my highs and mids ran with A or A/B power ....
It can be NO other way...
LMFAO...
If you cant hear the difference between Any of these things anyway. WELL then EFFF it man..
Lol
Crank it ..
Pffft
Until the price triples once big d tests it lol
Big D, Wudi saw your dyno of their other amp and said "Naw man we can't go out like that". Enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Go Gamecocks
@@escalerajermel That's right. Go Cocks!
Things have changed, 1300 watts at 1 ohm would've been 1300 skins back in the day this is 100 - ish shipped
This is a win for guys like me who just want some bass. And not trying to shake windows
I bought one of these widi 8808.1D amps thanks to your tutorial. I must say I'm impressed. I paid a hundred bucks on eBay and the amount of bass it produces I had to buy another one
Is it still working?!
@@mrfkyobitch6282 u talking about a rz1-2500d? If so your crqzy I have 3 of em and they are good but even at 1 ohm they only put out 750-900watts rms. Don't get me wrong I love this little amp hence why I have 3 but the amp in the video is alot more powerful
So reminds me of the Old school Punch45 ❤
I'm talking about the early 90s Punch 45s
Excellent review,
Back on fleab for $112 and Amaz for $233 wow
Honestly this budget amp kicks lots of name brand amps you know what.
They adv a remote bass knob but is Not.
Again Excellent Review on this amp.
Even at 1ohm beats namebrands that cant handle the loads. Wow wow wow .
a c note for rated at 2 ohms/clip is still decent. and it gets close enough for that price. even if the finish quality is.. rough. i'd rank it a flea market king though.
100 bucks is a win. My question is how long would you suspect it would last? I got a 92 rockford fosgate 800.2 still going
I'd check your caps and stuff to make sure they don't fry on ya. Age even gets to quality stuff over time.
I've been using a ZR 1000 for over 20 years.
700s on sub's,400s on mids, highs still pounding since 2002. Fosgate got my Respect.
I def would not run this thing in a vehicle without adding an external fuse, as it doesn't come with one.
Vintage fosgate power is on point for real. I had 2 turtle shell punch power 200x2's trans Anna running 4 - 12's. Also had some vintage alpine anps running my mids and highs..
Man I miss that system..I had a hifi alpine head unit too...
It sounded fn excellent..

Can't find the amp anywhere just 4-channel a/b 😒
Those broken off peices are the daughterboards on the amp, just easier to print it all at once
Was going to say the exact thing.. those boards are in the amp.. just have to look for them :D
the chunks out of the board are the driver cards , its a way to save cost in making them i guess .
I love the way you explained everything bad or wrong or good about those cheap amp.
I try to do that in every video 👍
Can you do some 20hz or 25hz tests on your amp dynos to see which amps can really slam the lows and which ones fall on their face?
I don't really see why that would matter. In a Hifi amp running on AC it would show how much power the power supply can store but here with DC it should be the same at 40 Hz in my world.
Every full bridge amp dives below 50 hz. Check out emf audio great vid
@@christopherparis6841 just curious how different brands perform at lower frequencies. I know theyll all reproduce those frequencies but i want to see which ones really push the lows amd which ones push less at the lower frequencies.

same brand of caps as the D'amore amp you just tested.👍
Yes it was your right ! I didn’t notice it until you said that and D’amore is suppose to be nice stuff far as I know !
@E Dud interesting, thanks for the comment. I have wondered if the more the more budget friendly D' Amore amplifiers were using cheaper parts & materials... Figured they had to be considering they are priced as low as the $200 range. I had been looking at one of the D' Amore 4 channel amps think it was like $230 or right around that price. (I don't remember the exact price but you can find the on the D' amore site) Idk if I should pass on it & look for a better 4 channel, just curious about the quality of a D' Amore amp priced in the $200 range brand new. 🤔

So where do they get the 6800 watt rating? Is there any amplifier companies out there that tells the truth? Do a video on that.
Just an update. Had this installed basic 4ohm load for over a year. This thing has taken all the abuse. Set gains with a scope so it's been loud and clean driving a single 10 in my truck. Every time people hear it they say no way that is just a 10... So far it's lasted longer then my old school Kenwood monoblock.. very happy I found this guy on YT.. what should I upgrade to next
Another 10 in parallel 😊

dude I love this channel. shame I hadn't known about it before. will support u and buy some merchandise
this amp is a repairmans dream come true if you know what to look for. the audio output generation circuit is isolated by optocouplers from the actual drivers and final stage hence damage never goes further than the optocouplers!
in my experience its the closest ive seen to modularity in an amp build. this board design is quite generic and generally makes 1500w @1ohm. there are weak spots tho and could and should be beefed up before use.
if anybody has Perrys guide, its generic class D type 4
Beefed up how?
@@FreeStyle786 this one has some good glue on the transformer winds to minimize vibration. also the board is screwed down the middle which helps a ton in the long run. both the driver card will need supports tho. other than that looks like the amp will do well in the long run
Just reliving some old dyno’s. A lot of people don’t know this but I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese. I know what that certificate said. It said “YOU BUY NOW!!!!”.
😂👍
Those break points on the pcb are known as 'mouse bites'. They route the board as normal (the smooth part) and then drill the tab ... then break the board out of the panel after it rides through the reflow line.
The Low Pass/ Subsonic filter comment killed me! I LOL'd.
899 lmfao they ain’t right! I guessed 1200 when I saw the 4ohm load definitely worth the $$$
Those "missing" tabs on the main board were populated and soldered to the main board in a vertical orientation. You can see both of the "missing" sections in your video. One is located near the power input and the other is soldered to the main board near the place where it was "removed."
Pink Panther boom tube is the bomb:) wish I ownd the cd from back in the day
thank god for this guy, can't trust power ratings on any amps anymore kinda sad.
How often does your test equipment need recalibration/recertification?
Not to shabby! I just bought a little budget system with 2 10" Sundowns Ev3. Needs around 1000 @1. This is definitely an option for a Benjamin. Thanks!
They are sold out at the moment but yeah hopefully they come back at the same price
They just came back on eBay 122 to 126$ I hada try it! I'm a low budget no budget guy, doing the impossible! Anyone been there?? I appreciate your vids Big D! Really doing a huge service,my man! Drive on!
I usually think of long term when buying an amp on impulse. That amp may have performed good but what if it only has one or two good bumps in it then shyts the bed? Sending back to China is a pain. I will only purchase on good reputation amps. Enjoyed the video though 👍
Same here, after my pioneer 5 channel amp Big D tested blew up twice i decided to go with proven quality
Those missing sections ARE actually on the amp. They do things like this so that those knock out sections can all get soldered in the same process through the wave solder machine. Then all the have to do is knock them out, and solder the knock out boards in the appropriate places manually.
They used the cutout sections of the main circuit board are use3d for the smaller vertical circuit boards in the amp. That way they can manufacture it all at once (in wave soldering) and save
I had this amp at the time labeled Mr. Musicman. It was very reliable and powerful and only met it's demise when exposed to water during a rainstorm when I opened my trunk. My bad
I used to push my fosgate power back in 2002? .5 ohm. When you pounded it it would make a full song before she thermaled. Never quit. Still have it.
Early 90's my buddy had 2) blaupunkt 12" subs ( only pair I ever saw) powered by a huge PPI amp. It carried a long ways..we were Into loud outside the vehicle and making the roof dance. Not really into max spl. I had 2) 10's behind my seat and 2) 12's in my bed with the pass through and a camper shell. In a regular cab mini truck..those were the days..bean bag chairs in the bed and glow in the dark stars on the roof of the shell

Depends on your budget.
The cutouts missing from the amp board was a money saver. I'm sure the missing pieces are parts for the 4 check version
What the WUDI redemption is going on here? I expect to see 2 of these in the Hot Rod!
Put some paneling on the sides it could be the WUDI wagon
The broken off/"missing" parts of the PCB are used for the two vertical daughter boards.
that one vertical daughterboard is snapped off of the main and used for... something on there built on the vertical chip
Those chunks missing are your vertical boards so they don't have to print those separately. Notice how they are the same size as the slots missing
I think you are right in that observation.
I looked like for that price it's worth it and it would be great if the saying was more compact I love your channel I'm also old school
👌😬👍
The two cuts are a way to save money on manufacturing. If you look closely, there are two "daughter boards" soldered vertically inside the amp motherboard. Those sizes seems to correspond to them. So its likely they just snap them, and solder them where they need to go. 3 boards in 1
10:40 the answer to this question is looking you in the face
They have the pcb manufactured with those snapped/snapoff sections which are themselves small pcbs which you can see mounted vertically at the top right and the other is right next to the snap recesses
Love the video. Wish I could find a amp there all sold out lol. Keep it up man doing great.
WUDI owes me some commissions!
I mean, a lot of what is checked on this channel is wayyy off. But at 4 ohms, it's still less than 20% off(18 and 14% under), then at 2 ohms, it's only 6.7 and .11% under. Do any of these provide variances at all? these may still be within what should be epxected.
Makes me want a wudi over blowpunk for my first upgrade. Impressive.
Awesome review. I would love to see you testing one of the new U1 SoundQubed amps.
The missing board parts are standing soldered vertically smaller piece right by where the chunks are missing in the other piece down to the output side of the amp

10:43 - They cut those pieces out to make the two attached upright boards saving copper and money. Clever idea.

It's numbers closely mirror the numbers for the old school audio pipe 1500.1
There are several variations of this model. Look for "F83532" as the model number and it will narrow your search for the same amp Big "D" tested. It's the only one that has 1/0 power cable connections.

Looks like they snapped out the board parts and used them in other parts of amp - you can see the missing parts attached as risers.
Exactly, not sure how I missed this
No man .... they nested same boards mirrored to save space while manufacturing....
Hey Big D any possibility you doing a dyno on the Jensen XDA91RB 1200 watt mono amp, I got one for Christmas havent hooked it up yet but curious to see what it could do. Its $98 at walmart which is a steal.

Greetings Big D Wiz.... from another Big D..... BIGDOGBRODAVE of ONE CALL INSTALL here out of Honolulu Hawaii... I started installing here in 1973 when the BIG CHEAP AMP.... was a underdash EQ box with 25 watts... and a FADER!!!!.... I came along at a time when cars typically had only one speaker in the dash and a AM radio so.... quite the improvement. I am currently building an AUDIOMOBILE RACK system.... for fun. I have been watching your videos and I wonder HOW the REAL old school amps actually perform on that Dyno there. I am sure the readings would be underwhelming to most viewers of these times but back in the late 70's to actually have 100 WATTS to power them "100 watt" Jensen TRIAXIALS.... well... People knew.... I owned a pair of MINDBLOWER 6x9 speakers back in the 70's in my 70 Challenger. PERFECT TRUNK for them.... Hunting for them as of late as well as AUDIOMOBILE GEAR. That being said, I recall YOU have a SA 1600 system amp. I wonder if that could be tested. I am IMPRESSED with this WUDI as it appears to be the modern version of the JET SOUND product. Coming from Asia BUT on the low end, I recognize that FONT... in my nightmares..LOL..... JET SOUND products were synonymous with ENGINE NOISE.... I learned a lot of tricks to eliminate engine noise thanks to JET SOUND..... ugggggg..... I LOVE this video so I came out of hiding to give it and YOU a BIG TWO THUMBS UP...... Love your work... Great narration... YOU BIG DUMMY!!!!!!....LOL..... Keep up the great work and you be SAFE and BOOM on... TEST an old AUDIOMOBILE and a ZAPCO... a CRAIG... the 72 watt Powerplay... that thing... and a 500 watt CONCORD if ya can find one.... they blew up a lot.... SANYO... was a VERY EARLY contributor as well as PIONEER... that GM-120 was the best... the Component PIONEER..... back in the 70's... I installed the very FIRST CD PLAYER ever made for a CAR in America, a CDX-P1 made by Pioneer... in Art Rubensteins car a Mercedes, Later I installed the very first CELLULAR PHONE in Art's car. CRITICAL MASS and maybe ABYSS... a few others... It still amazes me how much power engineers these days squeek out of a 12 volt antique... POWER ON!!!!!! Aloha BDBD
I'm impressed for sure! I will order a couple of those asap. Thanks big d
You order any?

That's sweet for 100 bucks. 2 of these on a set of 12s will have you jamming.
For the price, it’s a steal!
no it's not, because the real price is at least $200.
Flirting with 5 cents per watt here. Impressive. Looks like there are four left at $110 apiece as if 1:15mst. Good luck folks!
The two pieces that are clipped off of the circuit board inside or actually the input filter and the other part on the board that Clips in, it's all made in an assembly line and then all they do is click the pieces off the circuit board and plug them in and it's good to go
Yeah I’m blind apparently

arent those cutouts the 2 little vertical circuit boards that are cut out and moved to shorten or make pathing easier ?
No it didn't reach the rated power, But the amp is only around $80 I believe. There's a 5800W (not really) Wu monoblock for that amount. So really given the amps overall output, that ain't too bad. Though it is kinda sneaky using same amp model numbers as Skar. But that's China for ya.
Hey Big D can you explain the differences in Amps? The first 840 certified run at 2 ohms had a 92.8 A draw but when you measured the efficiency you showed a 79 A draw. I think I noticed this on several of your tests. What am I missing? Are you doing a special efficiency test in the background or something? Why didn't you just measure teh efficiency with the first run of 92.8 amps? Thanks Bro! As always, I enjoy your reviews.
