Same I was recommended her quitting corporate one she did a week or so back and I want to be on the same path and this is such a nice and chill channel.
I feel oddly at home watching your videos, maybe because we share a lot of common experiences. I graduated from the US and went back to my home country. Currently struggling with a difficult mother-daughter relationship while also quitting my corporate job to study. I was a serial job hopper. This is my first time quitting a job to work towards another goal.😅Really love the aesthetic and the content in your vlogs. The city seems lovely, and you have a great fashion sense.
I’m so happy the algo led me to your channel! I’ve been binging your videos and love seeing the world through your eyes - your outlook is so refreshing ☺️

Hi Evelyn! Just wanted to drop by and say hi! I love love love your videos. Your videos are very calming, soothing and easy to watch. It's nice to sit back and "experience" a day in China through your lens. There's not much China content on youtube or just the Western media in general so finding your channel and you giving us a glimpse of your life and also how life is like in China is refreshing. Your videos are very well done, the music perfectly compliments each scene, you are very well spoken, and the transitions are so nice and smooth. I hope this message gives courage and strength to keep going and creating these wonderful videos. I wish you well and lots of luck. Looking forward to your next video! PS - I just binged just about all of your Guangzhou videos and starting on your Beijing ones now.
I’m still amazed on how quitting your job worked out for you. Look at you now, living the dream, doing what you love and growing your RUclips channel 🎉 You are an inspiration ✨
Hi friend! I literally found your chanel an hour ago and watched a couple of your videos! They are absolutely wonderful, you give off such a warm and lovely energy, I'm very happy your videos are being shown to more people, you totally deserve it. I send you lots of love! Thanks for sharing your adventures 🥰
Stumbled onto a video of yours while I was working from home and felt this certain pull or attraction that led me to clicking onto other videos. I guess it's the fact that I related to a lot of things you said and was also surprised that you ended up in Guangzhou due to the pandemic while I ended up back in my home country too (you lived and worked in Chicago while I was doing the same in Guangzhou!). Eventhough my partner (who's from China) and I now have settled down in my home country, we're always excited to go back to Guangzhou and have plans to retire there in the future. ps. I also quit my main job and am now helping my family business. Happy that I found your channel and am excited for your future adventures! Wishing you the best in everything you do 💌
I graduated from IU Bloomington too! So so happy I found your videos, as someone who just quit tech but has no clue what is next, you really inspire me! I am trying to find my passions and how I can use those to make positive contributions to this world like you!
I am new here and tuning in with glass of white wine, making pasta and having you propped up (phone on a holder) 🧡🧡 prefect home alone evening after a long Tuesday workday! Perfect

Thank you for sharing this. Came to my concious after hard time surviving corporate life, I had to end it and remarkably I got back my period after a whole year (thought had early menopause.) It was really sacrificing my mental and physical well being. Dunno what future hold but I will learn to be optimistic. This channel is Inspiring❤
I’m glad you were able to prioritize your health and well-being…a lot of us here on this channel are trying to figure it out. we’ll lift each other up:)
I do love your videos! You will blow up! Keep going. I have been on a binge on your channel. Maybe it’s because I am 29 also about to quit my job and go back Nigeria and a beginner RUclipsr
so, I'm from Nepal. It is my dream to live in China one day as an artist. Currently, due to my weak financial background, I've not been able to pursue this dream. But one day, it will happen. I'm going to learn Mandarin, move to China and learn art there. Maybe that will be the place I truly belong to. Fingers crossed. So glad to have run into your channel. You are very straightforward and i think I can trust your information. And you are super beautiful too. ❤
Aww . . . hearing these things made me a little sad for you. Wishing the best for you, Evelyn. Thank you for sharing such personal and touching things. Kind thoughts always
hi Evelyn ! didn't realize Beijing has mosquito issues in the city . Good to know as I hope visit again in the Fall or late Winter in a year or the next .
i think i found you in a depressive episode like back in March or April, think it was the bedroom makeover video, and i was like "huh, idk anything about living in China, let's watch!"
it’s crazy how the algorithm bring us to each other…sending love, hope you were able to find small comforts in my life - on the other side of the world!
I'm an Asian American born and raised in the states and I still don't truly feel like I belong here. This may sound funny, but I feel most at home when I'm at Chinatown in the city.
hi evelyn sis, such a candid description. sis, u and dave bro are requested to attend my sisters's Chinese Tea ceremony( Chinese wedding ) in Shanxi province, China. I will ask my Aunt to mail u the card. The wedding is in January 2024. The Indian ceremony is in Dec 2023.

I actually recently found your channel as I was watching julia fei and itsyuyan's China vlogs. I was so happy that you were a creator actually currently living in China as it is hard to find creators on RUclips who are Chinese and living in China but speak English (for obvious reasons). And I was even more elated to hear that you love reading!! When you said your inspirations are moya and bestdressed I can totally see that but actually you really remind me a lot of twirlingpages. Would you consider doing some content in Mandarin with English subtitles? I am trying to learn Chinese and it helps to watch videos of people speaking Chinese casually in a vlog format (it's like practicing with a friend) 🥰
Lots of love from India! I have loved every piece of your content and the editing is so on point! I also just quit my big girl job at Google(unimaginable if I thought of this 4-5 years back) and your videos have been like a warm embrace for me.
I can relate to what you say .When covid came I started questionning myself .As a consultant I often found myself working for big Chinese or Russian corporations .Covid came and most of my projects when down but I felt relieved because I felt bad working for these corporations .I think it's good to make money but it's to do it in a meaningful way.Nowdays I am working on how to do fair trade by helping myself and communities in Madagascar and Ukraine grow together.I think what is important in life is too be happy ,true to oneself and be authentic whatever way you choose. We have one life and we shouldn't waste it.
ahh...what a journey. Thanks for sharing! It's an inspiring move to break away from the big money and support fair trade instead. We all aspire to do it, but it takes a lot of courage and conviction to take it to action. Thank you for doing what you do!

Hello from Brazil ❤ I absolutely LOVE your vídeos, thank you for sharing your life with us. I lived in China (Chengdu) for a year in 2014, and I really miss this country. I want to go back to visit someday. You make me miss China a little bit more in every video! ♡
This grabbed my attention " I share my life as a corporate dropout, ditching my job in tech for a journey of growth and self-discovery, to (hopefully) figure out what I want to do, and where I want to be." I am hooked to your channel now.
I really love how people get inspired from there fav creators which reflects in their own vlogs...oh I just love it. Hopefully I would be there soon...
This was such a chill and fun episode! I found you from your last video about life after quitting your corporate job which I want to do eventually myself. I also love matcha lattes. It was nice to learn more about you. I also struggle with focus too and use a adhd timer and I’m in a productivity discord server it’s small and I love it. We have virtual workspaces and something about seeing others work motivates me. I also break down goals into smaller tasks as I get overwhelmed. I try to start my day early too with journaling and walking or working out. Starting your day with routine and a good mentality can help you!
The book battlefield of the mind is so great, and the Bible, for all things involving our mind, and heart. There’s a very good side to supernatural too. ❤ Good not evil. ❤ Keep up the great work! You’re very good at introspection and knowing yourself. 😊
Other than obviously loving your self-reflections as per usual, LOVE you braving taking us to the streets and this time, a boat ride in Beihai. I know you’ll do great and hope you remember to enjoy the (literal) ride too.
I only realized when editing that I was on a literal boat when I answered the question about “jumping on the resigning boat”hahaha…could have been a great pun😂
I love your vibes! I'm glad youtube is working out for you. I know you said you can't stay consistent but it really shows on camera you love what you do when you upload a video so I think this is the best part about this journey and something worth focusing on to keep going. You're building your community and momentum with your uploads, no need to rush, good things will come!
Hi Evelyn, I was actually also born in Shenyang (working on the east coast now tho) and of the same age! Think we might actually have some common friends lol would love to connect and hear more about your stories in Chicago and back in China.
Im so happy to have stumbled upon your channel last week, I’ve been binge watching your videos ❤ and i also quit corporate to focus on personal grow and dream following 🥰 much love from Mexico ✨
I read that same Me, Myself and I book in my senior year before university, and it's the same catalyst to me majoring in psychology! And I ended up in tech lol
Thanks for the informative video, you actually say some really wise things baout navigating careers and being between places and cultures. I moved to NYC from Beijing in 2011; it's been good but I've made a living mostly with freelance translation work--and freelance, as you know, has a lot of challenges. Anyway, one other thing: there's a Post Post in NY too :)
I came across your channel recently too and it has been a joy to see your journey here and on insta! I enjoy your style of storytelling/vlogging and wish you all the best! I’m about to leave a full time position for personal endeavours soon and boy is it nervewracking… but I feel I came across your channel at the perfect time! 😂✨
You are such an inspiration! Watched your video since the infp video ❤ I’ve been losing life purposes and goals. Watching your video always refresh my mind 😊
I’m so happy my question got here 😂 it really helped me right now having career crisis at the age of 24. your tips and life shared experience gave me a better and wider perspective! i feel so inspired to start trying again ❤😊 Thank you, Evelyn! I’m so happy you’re channel is growing so fast! more power 🎉
Hi Evelyn, I’m Navie, a new follower of yours 😊 I scrolled through your Life without a job video today and felt really thankful for that. I also quit my corp job in EU 5 months ago, back to Vietnam starting my content creator path and lately been through doubts 🥲 That video is truly soothing for me at the moment. I just want to tell you that I believe you and I will be successful in this difficult journey we chose!! Keep up the good work 🥰 and pls tell me if you will ever visit Saigon. And if you don’t mind, we can try to find a chance to collab or work together 🤩 Thanks for reading my message. Have a good night!
dave here! I was pretty terrible at Chinese for the first 5 years of living here. Working as an English teacher, in an English language immersive environment, you don't get many opportunities to speak Chinese, and you're so tired every day coming home from work, too tired to study effectively.. Later, I opened a small bar called nugget, where I could talk to customers every day, having interesting conversations in Chinese about politics, culture, life, love, etc. This was a HUGE help to learning! I still have such a long way to go, but I'm finally at a stage where I can be comfortable in different language environments. So, if you want to learn, just find a way to really throw yourself into situations where you HAVE to speak it!
Hi Evelyn, It is such a comfort to watch your vlogs.❤ Your smile is always sweet and inspiring. I can also relate to your experience as I am about to quit my job in Beijing by the end of this month and consider to work as a freelancer. Thank you for sharing so much interesting places in Beijing. Hope I will have the chance to explore before leaving!❤

Hello from Brazil ❤ I absolutely LOVE your vídeos, thank you for sharing your life with us. I lived in China (Chengdu) for a year in 2014, and I really miss this country. I want to go back to visit someday. You make me miss China a little bit more in every video! ♡
This grabbed my attention " I share my life as a corporate dropout, ditching my job in tech for a journey of growth and self-discovery, to (hopefully) figure out what I want to do, and where I want to be."
I am hooked to your channel now.
i love your channel! it’s so calming to watch💗🥺
Hey Evelyn you are beautiful and have an amazing voice
new subs here love your content ☺️❤ and i love moya too
Nice - 22k+ subs! Finally getting the attention you deserve. Rooting for you!
Thank you John🫶
Have you ever traveled with any of your YT followers
Other than obviously loving your self-reflections as per usual, LOVE you braving taking us to the streets and this time, a boat ride in Beihai. I know you’ll do great and hope you remember to enjoy the (literal) ride too.
I only realized when editing that I was on a literal boat when I answered the question about “jumping on the resigning boat”hahaha…could have been a great pun😂
I love how you speak. Subscribed.
Tours of the city are interesting. Especially for us that will probably never be able to visit China.
Really glad I “found” or you “popped” up in my suggestions. Love your content! Keep going ❤
Thank you🫶💕
I love your vibes! I'm glad youtube is working out for you. I know you said you can't stay consistent but it really shows on camera you love what you do when you upload a video so I think this is the best part about this journey and something worth focusing on to keep going. You're building your community and momentum with your uploads, no need to rush, good things will come!
Hello from an indiana viewer !!
Hi Evelyn, I was actually also born in Shenyang (working on the east coast now tho) and of the same age! Think we might actually have some common friends lol would love to connect and hear more about your stories in Chicago and back in China.
She reminds me of bestdressed!
So cool to see you growing so fast in the Last week or so!
Im so happy to have stumbled upon your channel last week, I’ve been binge watching your videos ❤ and i also quit corporate to focus on personal grow and dream following 🥰 much love from Mexico ✨
Ahhh we got this✨all the best with your journey!
Good luck !. 🙏🤞 !.

Hi Evelyn,
I’m Navie, a new follower of yours 😊
I scrolled through your Life without a job video today and felt really thankful for that. And if you don’t mind, we can try to find a chance to collab or work together 🤩
Thanks for reading my message. Have a good night!
Hmm, Beijing, did you follow my advice? I hear Shenyang, another opportunity...🤣🤣🤣
I love watching you cause there seems to be a certain genuinity in the way you talk!
You're so cool!! I have a question, how did David learn Chinese?
He’s lived in China for 8 years - he’s more of a Beijing native than I am!
@@lostmemorymachine wow!! That's quite the accomplishment, imho!!
@@tapiocapress you guys are great together!! 😍😍
I noticed the resemblance with Ashley's editing style (and I love it)! Also love that you take us along your creative journey 💌
Hope I will have the chance to explore before leaving!❤
all the best with your next adventure! wish I could visit beijing again soon
