Love the look of these tyres on jimny without any speedo error or touching with mudgaurds. I couldn’t have chosen for anything better!
See both are good and working options! My reasons for WHY 225? Are explained in the video and 225s definitely gives off a better overall appeal of the car than 215s.
You chose 225/70r15 instead of 215 or 235/75r15... Good choice.. The size of Stock tyres is 27.3 inch & this one is 27.4 inch .. So, almost the same size... Only the difference is tyre width..
Are you sure that all 235 will touch the cladding? The Goodyear does that's for sure, but what about the others? Personally the 235 looks the best but if all of them will rub then I will have to go with the 225.
Hi! Since i am using a hard upgraded suspension, I like to keep mine at 26-27 psi. Suzuki recommends 26 psi stock but you can go upto 29 psi also since the suspension is very soft.
Nice video brother .....Just wanted to ask regarding the profile of the apollos as 70 while on the yokohama's they are 75 soo is there any difference in height or does it come to the same height ?
70 and 75 are both the length of the side wall of the tyre which is given in percentage to of the tyre width. For example in 225/70 the width of the tyre is 225mm and the side wall of the tyre is 70% of 225mm which come out as 157.5mm and for 215/75 the tyre side wall length is 75% of 215 which is the width of the tyre and here the side wall comes out as 161.25mm so there is difference of 3.75mm in both the tyre and side wall length of the tyre ultimately affects the height of the tyre also. Hope this resolved your query and if not then feel free to ask again.
Sure, I’ll make a video for this specifically soon but know that that any manufacturer cannot void the warranty after upsizing/downsizing the tires unless they prove that changing the tires was the reason behind any damage occurring to the vehicle. Also, going way off the OEM specs is not a good idea in general thats why i opted for 225/70/r15 and made this video. Hope this resolves your query.
Thank you 🙏🏼 and its not a good decision as you will increase the width by 10mm but as the height percentage is 65 of 205mm i.e. 133.25mm whereas stock height is 80 percent of 195mm i.e. 156mm as stock tyre is 195/80/15. This means you will end up decreasing the overall height of the tyre by 22.75mm which is not good in any application that i can think of.
Sorry but being from Delhi i cannot answer that! Although almost all shops exchange but the price may differ on how much you have used the stock tyres and also depends on dealer
See, first of then none of them puts any uncalled pressure on the suspension! I went with 225/70 because they were wider and essentially no speedo error and tbh way too many speed traps in Delhi! If you are fine with little speedo error and 215 width does your job then go for it otherwise i would suggest 225
Hi, I have a doubt. You are using a 70mm profile tyre instead of 80 mm. Which means per rotation of the tyre you are travelling 10mm less distance than what is being shown in odometer. How then do you say that there's no difference? In my opinion 75 mm profile tyres are better suited
Hey! I would suggest you to please google on how tyre Diameter is calculated as thats what affects the ODO reading. What are talking about 70-75 in mm is not actually in mm instead its an aspect ratio.

Hii bro loved your new jimny look with opting for 225/70/15 which is best without getting any error. I want to ask if the spare wheel comes with an alloy or steel rim.
For the Alpha Model All 5 tyres are alloys, even the spare and in Zeta all are steel rims and the tyre size on both mentioned above stays similar. Hope This Helped.

Congratulations for your car brother. Very nice and in depth video. I too have booked alpha auto in grey as well. Will take a couple months to come in Goa. Only one question. By any chance did you weigh your stock and the upgraded tyre with and without the alloy before you took the decision for upsizing. Thank you 🙏🏼 also I didn’t do a weight comparison before installing the tyre but if fuel economy is your concern then fortunately the fuel economy remained largely similar to what it was before the tyre upgrade but the new tyres did being a lot of stability to the vehicle and bumps and pot holes go unnoticed even more.
@@Bikegrammer Hi. Thanks for replying. Not really, mileage is not my primary concern. But the unsprung weight which adds to the factory architecture and geometry which will be transmitted through the drive train to transfer case via drive shafts, and the overall load on the suspension. Since i have booked an automatic and it will be my daily drive and long term car. Do you think brother it will be any significant difference and problem in long run. What is your take on this. Sorry to bother you and take up your time. Much thanks.
thanks for the concern sir but stock alloys can take up to 235s and that's according to experts from all over the world, its just that anything over 225 requires mud gaurd & flap modifications.
Yes i considered them but 215/75 increase the circumference of the tires by more than 2% which will give you an incorrect speedometer reading and they didn’t increase the width enough to look distinctive in my opinion.
No considerable change in the mileage but definitely feels a lot more comfortable over bumps and feels more planted on the road, do consider subscribing as i will upload a off road impressions video soon.
Hi.. Many congratulations on your Jimny. I am expecting mine in a couple of days. If I'm not mistaken, this tyre in your video is designated as an LT (Light Truck) tyre? Can you tell me what pressures you have kept on the tyres and your experience with ride quality on them.. Thanks very much.
Hi, sorry but there is no info provided by apollo on the tyre being LT but this AT2 is sold as a car/suv tyre so i do not think that this is an LT. Whereas when it comes to pressures i like to keep mine at 25 psi as it ensures a smooth ride without any difference to steering heaviness or fuel economy, you can easily go upto 27-28 without too much difference in ride quality but anything above will give you a bumpy ride with occasional thuds from rear suspension on deep/bit potholes. The ride quality has been superb so far and everyone who sits for the first time commended the ride quality especially on bumpy roads. I really hope you enjoy your jimny as much as i am. Cheers!
@@Bikegrammer Thanks man.. I have got the Jimny and i've installed these tyres.. Many thanks to you for recommending this and bringing it to my notice. @@dutt9883 yes please try 26 and the ride will get so much smoother without any harm to the tyres! Company suggested 26 for stocks but as yours are bigger you can go for 25 also! Haven’t done that yet but as the tyre sits well inside the fender, I expect no difference in the articulation from the OEMs but will update you on this with an upcoming video.
@@Bikegrammer yeah pls do that!! I'll be taking the delivery in a month and will the change the tyres on day 1!! So a articulation test will clear alll the doubts!! Also pls test it on a muddy track!! Cheers
Such good idea!!!!
Glad you think so! :)
What exchange value you got for stock tyres?
Approx 4k per tyre.
@@Bikegrammer wow that's awesome bargain. Care to share the store details, I put up in Noida, so I can ride there.
Store name is Narang tyres, karol bagh but please confirm with them beforehand and also tyres can be exchanged at every good tyre shop just purchase new ones with em and make a deal for the old ones at the same time. I drove the car to the tyre shop before driving it to home lol.
Congratulations for your car brother.
Very nice and in depth video.
I too have booked alpha auto in grey as well. Will take a couple months to come in Goa.
Only one question. By any chance did you weigh your stock and the upgraded tyre with and without the alloy before you took the decision for upsizing.
Looking forward for more of your user reviews for both the car and tyre performance.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Have a safe and adventurous life.
Not sure if it's a good idea to have 225 width on stock rims
thanks for the concern sir but stock alloys can take up to 235s and that's according to experts from all over the world, its just that anything over 225 requires mud gaurd & flap modifications.
@@Bikegrammer did you consider 215,75,15? Any reason you preferred 225,70?
Yes i considered them but 215/75 increase the circumference of the tires by more than 2% which will give you an incorrect speedometer reading and they didn’t increase the width enough to look distinctive in my opinion.
@@Bikegrammer did u notice any drop in pickup, handling, mileage etc?
I am currently maintaining 28, but i think i will come down to 26 and see if there is any difference.
I always wanted a white lettering tyre and was about to go for the Yokohama Geolandar 215s.. however noticed last minute that it was an LT rated tyre which meant I have to keep much higher pressures for the same load rating. Would definitely compromise on the ride quality...
By the way, at 25 are you seeing any bulging of these tyres at 25 psi? I hope the 'deflated' look isnt coming at these pressures..
Keep the tyre pressure at 27
@@dutt9883 yes please try 26 and the ride will get so much smoother without any harm to the tyres! Company suggested 26 for stocks but as yours are bigger you can go for 25 also! Just DO NOT TRUST THE PETROL PUMPS OR TYRE SHOPS GAUGE! Get yourself a decent air pump with digital meter and auto stop function and you’ll never find better 2-3k spent on something.
We need some off-roading videos with these new tyres
Soon!
any deviation in the milegae
No not really! Maybe half a kmpl but almost same figures as other jimnys with stocks
215 would have been better, No??
Well, First I’d like to know why you think so?
Price
Hi, don’t know current prices, please ask nearest apollo dear or look up on their website.
Sir How much did u pay for these tyre ? Also how much value did u get for the stock tyres .
The apollos costed me about 7500 and the humble guy at Narang Tyres, Karol Bagh, Delhi took away the stocks at a really good price of about 4k per tyre but mentioned that the this price is always floating.
@@Bikegrammer thanks sir :)
❤❤
Mileage kya dera hai?
Largely remained the same.
Will the warranty get void with just tire upgrade from stock to 215 or 225? Does anyone know what are the warranty condition on tire upgrade for Jimny??
I do not know in detail or dont quote me on this either but I don’t think there will be any problem with the warranty of car or any part.
@@Bikegrammer Thank you. On a different note, if you have crossed 1000 + kms on these tires, would you like to feedback please one more time if these Apollo Aptera AT2 tires are noisy? And your avg highway best mileage till date? Many Thanks
@@sanjaymu74 I will upload a video on it shortly.
