- UPDATE: TUDOR REPLACED MY WATCH! See follow up video: • Tudor made things righ...
My experience buying a Tudor from an Authorized Dealer was overall extremely poor. In this video I explain why. Timeline consists of me buying the watch in May 2021, sending it back to Tudor Service Center in July 2021 due to a faulty movement, and finally receiving the watch back from Tudor in January 2022. Upon receiving it back I realized there was superficial damage to the bezel. At this point, I have been without my brand new watch for 6 months and can’t stomach sending it back to Tudor yet again, for possibly some new issue to come up.
Tudor reached out and replaced my watch!!
See follow up video: ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
I am happy for you receiving a replacement. But honestly: you and your watch should have been treated more professionally in the first place!
Seems like they did this for yo ubecause they saw your video. IMO you shouldn't have to produce media about them to get them to help you.
👏👏👏👏
Great result finally, good to know you are happy now once Tudor replaced it with the brand new watch.
I appreciate your openess and honesty by telling us how it was for you. What a horrible experience. I'll stick with my 2007 Omega Seamaster that has never let me down.
all that time and frustration. treating you like that. not a good company.
Thanks for sharing this. I understand your frustration, this is truly unacceptable! I'm glad you went public with this, they shouldn't get away with this.
He could just bring it back to the AD..
@@mplsmnpiDid you even watch the video? Dummy
There will always be duds coming out of manufacturers; what matters is how they handle such issues when they occur. In this case they failed miserably. Very disappointing to hear.
Exactly. They had a chance to resolve the situation. If I had been given a brand new watch in perfect condition after maybe 2 months even, I would have been content. But to wait 6 months to get a damaged replacement watch. Unacceptable. Tudor is dead to me.
You already waited months and now you are unhappy with the watch so you should just bring it back again, let them replace the bezel and then sell it. As it is now every time you look look at it it will bring up the bad experience and you will never be happy with it.
I dont understand why they didn't give u a new piece i would demand that
Rolex, Tudor….overrated!
What sweat shop in China did this come from?
I want to say thank you for taking your time and making this video, i don't even know you and i got so heated watching this video. I was on the fence on buying a Tudor and you made my decision clear, i went with longines instead and it costed me a third of the price.
Thank you for sharing your experience. You're absolutely right. This is unacceptable from Tudor.
thanks for your story. I literally was about to pull the trigger on a tudor BB58 . the black one. now I have looked elsewhere! Never had a Tudor before so I was interested but not now. FYI Breitling and Omega customer service for me has been totally top notch.
Thanks for your honest review for saving my hard earned money. I was planning for Tudor BBB but now i will go for Grand Seiko.
Thank you for going public and not keeping quiet, or rolling over. You've done a calm and honest assessment.
*Note: You needed to have called out that AD by name.
I didn’t feel like trashing them by name, but didn’t hide their name in paperwork. Btw, Tudor replaced the watch. I posted a follow up video:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
I’m glad I found this video. I went with Breitling over Tudor a couple of years ago. Had a similar problem and sent it away. It came back perfect. Same watch but totally reviewed and has worked since then (1 year) without problem. The warrantee was extended from the moment of repair, they threw in an extra rubber strap and this was all done in three weeks. What with that and Breitling’s online ownership cert, they’ve really upped their game lately.
Tudor did end up replacing the watch:

Thank you for sharing your story. As much as I love my Tudor gmt I definitely hasn’t been a smooth journey.I purchased it from my local AD and decided to get it resized.Once I got home I realised that the screw head had been worn away ,completely rendering it useless. Luckily I was able to get it fixed since they had parts on hand however not everyone would have been so lucky.
Take care
Thanks for commenting. Yes I feel Tudor really needs to improve their customer experience. They spend so much money on advertisements, yet their customer is left feeling like crap.
Sounds like you have more issues with your AD than the watch itself. Absolutely love my BB58 Blue, and my AD has always been very helpful and receptive to general questions/concerns on my purchases. Sorry to hear how this whole experience has put a sour taste in your mouth for the brand, but know there are some good ADs out there!
No it’s both the AD and Tudor. Tudor’s communication (see their letter) is super vague. Tudor’s service time of 6 months was unacceptable for a brand new watch that was defective out of the get go. The brand lost me as a customer.
The problem with the AD is the lack of interest in keeping as a customer. They could have offered me something out of their own pocket to make it sting less (such as a free strap), but they refused. So they lost me as a customer.
Very depend on the local AD/service centre. I sent my watch to local Seiko SC for 2 years interval service. Although the movement is adjusted to COSC rate, I've got another bonus - deep scratches on the caseback, lugs & bezel, and torn rubber straps. I think they're using mjolnir as a tool.
I'm really sorry to hear this happened to you. I bought mine through a Grey dealer and after the first year the movement completely siezed. I couldn't turn the crown and you could tell it was internallt bound up pretty bad. Luckily I contacted the online grey dealer they and they told me they contacted the AD which was in Italy and that they were going to send me the original warranty card. Again I was lucky because I live in Fort Worth so I set up an appointment with the Corporate Rolex service center in downtown Dallas and I went there and dropped it off. 30 days later I had the watch and the notes stated that the movement received a complete overhaul. My watch was pristine when i dropped it off and I received it in the same condition. I did sell it last month but I'm planning on buying the S&G version.
This might be one of the reasons Tudor’s are selling for less. I’ve heard a lot about the inner issues with Tudor’s.
As soon as you said Dallas Service center, I understood; I have read so many posts and watched many videos of people having bad experiences with both Tudor and Rolex when their watch was sent to the Dallas service center. Seems to be a quality control issue out of Dallas. There are two other service centers, one in New York and one in California and I have not seen any posts or videos about problems out of those service centers. That does not mean they don't have problems, it just means that they have far fewer problems so the posts and videos are scarce. I can't speak for others, but my experiences with every brand I've dealt with has been good to exceptional. I think your experience really starts with the AD. If your AD is not willing to step in for you and get your issue resolved to your satisfaction, within reason of course, then you can end up having a hard time dealing with the brand/service center. I am lucky. I have three very good ADs in my region that take customer experience and satisfaction seriously whether you spend $1000 or $100.000 on watches. How do you build customer loyalty? customer experience...
It’s insane my AD, based in California, would send the watch to Dallas TX. More reason why this experience was awful.
I wouldn't trust a Texan to work on anything but a truck, a gun, or a steak.
I've had the 925 since August. Haven't had any movement issues however I have feared this being the experience when a service is in need. Especially looking 20 years down the road. Tudor doesn't seem to be the kind of company to listen to the customers opinion on the repair. Especially with the 925. Most won't want their dials or cases touched because they want this watch to age naturally.
Great video, think this kind of info is really important. Sorry for the issues you've had, especially because it's such a looker. I've been looking into the Breitling Chronomat line for my next watch.
Ya it’s really sad as I was a big defender of Tudor, as I love my North Flag (zero issues in 2 years). I also picked up a Heritage Ranger (with ETA movement), and it’s also been perfect. Unfortunately these 3 Tudors will be all I ever own from the brand. It’s clear from the horrendous service and poor AD experience, that Tudor does not care about their customers.
DON’T LET THEM OFF THE HOOK! Keep your cool, but contact Tudor and report your experience to someone above the initial customer service rep (a customer service manager, or whatever). Make sure they document it. And I know it sucks, but send that watch back until it is done right. You will never feel good about the watch until they fix that bezel. They probably used the same tool they use on the steel watches and likely scratched the case as well. That would explain the new case.
Nobody will answer the phone. Better off watching grass grow.
Really sorry to hear about your experience. I would definitely gather a document trail and contact Tudor (either the main general agent in US or straight to Switzerland). As you can imagine this is absolutely unacceptable and if they would deal with me I would literally kill them. They would shake every time I would walk into their damn store. Please what ever you do make sure that you are treated accordingly here
@@pianothatilove Oh please, nobody will shake at all when you walk into their store. If you give the store any problem you will simply get locked up for disturbing the peace. Case closed.
Better still, if Tudor have a Twitter account, upload this video in a tweet. Public shaming is often the only way to get anybody to notice. They might have some social media idiot monitoring the chat and ready to respond. 🤞🏼
That’s why I bought a Sinn! Sorry to hear about your experience. I hope you make them make it right!
Wow! This video looks like a legit interview piece. Good job man! It is sad to see what ADs have become. I will give them the benefit of the supply chain issues but 15 years ago you would have never experienced this type of customer service. It’s just sickening now.
I honestly had 3 BB58s in my cart to purchase and though that I better look for some videos online, as I'm not familiar with this brand. Thank you I will just put my $10,000 into something else, honestly I'm blown away at this experience.
Tough story to hear. I dented the bezel on my GMT around the time you had this issue. My watch got sent to the Rolex repair center in Dallas right as they were starting to re-route Tudors to Tudor repair center in New Jersey because of parts issues. I had a completely different experience (though it was slow). They did a bang up job fixing it and they performed a complete service. They recalibrated it and it came back running far more accurately than before. I have three Tudors in my collection and I’ve had no issues with quality control or customer service in any way. Sorry that happened to you.
Literally the same experience I’ve had. I own quite a few tudors because the customer service is so amazing
@@floridaman727 yeah.. bummer this happened to him.
@@Jdinaz I have a feeling that this wasn’t tudors fault
@@fluffy_kitten own both and love both. They both knock it put of the park with certain models

Thank you for sharing your story. What a cautionary tale. Your account really does make me want to push the brakes on getting a Tudor Black Bay. Thank you.
I would push brakes for sure. Check out Omega or Grand Seiko. Maybe Breitling. I will never buy another Tudor.
@@EDHBlvd great choice! My friend just bought that as his first pic watch, and he couldn’t be happier. It’s a hell of watch.
Grand seiko the Japanese expert
Service is everything - I’d accept a lower quality product with better service than the opposite. I have a Tudor Black Bay that I love and runs well, my purchase experience was horrible. The stupid waiting game ….. Just go to company that has watches and wants to deliver a great customer experience like Omega for example. I love my Speedmaster
Thank you for sharing this information. I was considering the 925, but no longer. I went through the same with a different vendor that had a custom shop an an iconic reputation. Customer service is very important to me, and your experience is unacceptable. Thank you.
Did you see my follow up video?
Shocking! I have to say that i've had great experiences dealing with Oris, Longines, Ball and Christopher Ward, super helpful staff in Switzerland and the UK. No repairs required, just good attentive service and customer support.
It was very shocking. Thankfully in the end, Tudor replaced the watch. They found video and wanted to make things right:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
Good info, will keep an eye out when being mines in for repair in future. This is also a reason i stick with ETA movements (bb36) then in house(bb58), their easier serviced in most repair shops.
Damn, man. What a stressful place to be in, especially with that kind of money and knowing its new from the source! Was planning to buy a ranger, now I might double back. Thanks for the info!
Give this man a Cigar, good on you for telling us. Couldn't help notice the Rolex paperwork, WTF. That has totally put the brakes on my buying a 34mm Oyster Perpetual for my wife's 60th. Oils ain't Oils so it seems. Cheers Johno.
Cheers. Ya I’m sour to the whole watch game now. Don’t see myself buying another watch for a long time. Maybe the positive is it will save me money in long run…
Mannn that's a bummer, you should go back for the bezel now ! Or even get a refund and say screw you take the watch back ! I feel your pain in the video, forget it man, get the watch back to them period. You absolutely right it's not normal ! I'm completely with you on this, and thanks for saying it because some don't, a big hello from Paris bro !
Did you see my follow up video linked in description and comments? I ended up getting a brand new watch from Tudor with a fresh 5 year warranty.
I’m so glad I found this video. You hit so many points. The influencers pushing it has me skeptical. On point with the Seiko 💯!!
Thank you for making this.
I still enjoy Tudor, but you gotta be weary. Won’t buy any watches on first release (not that you can with wait list), as I don’t want to be beta tester again.
Sorry to hear your story. Thanks for sharing this. A BB58 has been on my shortlist for a while, but not sure sure now. Overhyped, desirable watches which are a big sales success can lead to arrogance within the manufacturer and their ADs. Dangerous tactic today in a world of instant global information sharing.
Sorry to hear that! I bought my black bay 58 from AD and luckily I don’t have issues with that.
Very sorry to hear about this. I've experienced a similar issue with Omega and I know how you feel, very frustrating when you spend decent money on something and then get the runaround from BOTH AD and service center, happens all the time. I've bought multiple Tudor watches and have never had an issue but can certainly understand your bad feelings about the brand now
Great vid! Wish I'd seen this today! Bought a BB 58 AND Pepsi for the wife and I. Guess we're going to put those through the paces.
I hope you have better luck than I had.
@EDHblvd Thanks man. I knew about the Tudor Gmt date issue but never heard about the BB 58 having problems. Watch tubers act like these watches walk on water. Thanks for your honest feedback.
I think much of this has to do with the AD or the service center rather than the manufacturer - apart from the movement of course. I've owned a blue steel one and keeps perfect time, and is taking a lot of abuse as a daily beater and apart from the obvious micro scratches it seems bulletproof... Sorry to hear your experience was so bad, but I think it's down to the nature of industrial scale production, especially with precious metals...
Thanks for sharing. Even if they replaced your watch, I'm staying away from Tudor
They did replace it. Posted new video:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
@@EDHBlvd yup saw that
You must take it back to Tudor. That is unacceptable.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Not good.
I’m on my 3rd Tudor and *touch wood* not had any issues with a Black Bay Bronze and Pelagos LHD (both now sold) and my current Pelagos FXD.
Seems like it’s your AD that’s messed you about, l wouldn’t put down your single experience and come to the conclusion Tudor watches should be avoided. I have an Omega Speedmaster, Casios, Seikos, Sinn and most recently a Rolex Submariner 124060 from my AD and they’ve all been fine. Yes you do hear people have issues with their watches but it’s up to the AD and Manufacturer to put right.
I’m feel for you. Its strange how these ‘big’ brands only take action once a person posts a video. Why cant the AD take care of it properly when you went to them the first time around. It seems they just want to gaslight the customer and get away with it. I am considering the Black Bay 54 as my first Tudor, but your experience is making me to seriously reconsider. I agree problems can happen, but its how the company addresses the problem is the point, and this was horrible from Tudor.
You know I didn’t remember if I got into it in my video but when I first noticed the watch stopping I called and even went into the AD and they basically blew me off. Saying I wasn’t wearing it enough and should wind it. Thinking back they were totally unreasonably. The watch clearly had a problem but they were not taking it seriously. Not exactly a luxury experience after you pay. This was with the assistant manager too. I’ve reflected about that more and it’s disappointing.
The more I see this kind of stuff, the more I prefer to just get a Grand Seiko.
Yes the Swiss make amazing watches...but now they're literally depending on the snobbery.
No, I'm not going to spend 8 grand on watch where they treat customers like this.
I want a QUALITY time piece.
Even my Seiko 5 SNKL23J1 doesn't have problems like this. That watch cost me just 100 bucks.
Imagine if you buy Leica, but you have better quality with a Fuji X100.
Tudor did replaced the watch:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
Regarding Leica, many will get better pics with other brands due rot things like AF and more robust metering. A Leica is very bare bones.
@@EDHBlvd I agree but at least Leica has that extremely solid build quality and well put together. Glad you did get a replacement! 😊
Thank you for sharing this honest and enlightening video. I vicariously feel your frustration and indignation and will not consider a Tudor.
The issue with these new movements, they're not tested and proven enough yet. Luckily the warranty covered you. Nice to see the downside to these as I'm seriously considering one for my next big purchase
Yeah but when u charge this amount of pesetas for it it damn well should be. Especially after they had that BBGMT date disaster. Maybe instead of pumping out 64 designs of the black bay they should put some more hours into development & qc.
I bought my new BB58 from an AD about 18 months ago. When I got home the thread on the crown was a little rough when trying to wind it in or out. Also the bezel had a tight spot about half way round it's travel. It was returned to Tudor via the AD. It came back with the crown thread repaired but the bezel hadn't been repaired. Returned again and when I got it back the bezel had been repaired but the case had been scratched. All this took almost a year. I returned it and requested a refund as clearly the watch was defective from the start. Just before Christmas I was contacted by the dealer who said Tudor had offered to repair the watch again but I refused. To cut a long story short I did eventually get a refund from the AD who was fantastic throughout the experience. He then made a claim from Tudor. Never again would I buy a Tudor.
It’s sad to hear how common these stories are. Tudor ended up replacing my watch, but I’m uneasy about buying another.
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
I must have gone through 25-30 automatic watches and the only time I had this sort of problem was with a cheap Invicta (I gave it to a friend who has a relative who is a trained watchmaker, so eventually I might find out what the problem was, but I don't really care given the price point). An automatic watch that new which stops... that spells out "t-r-o-u-b-l-e" in watch-a-nese. To add insult to injury, if an AD just tells you to wind the watch more often... well, to put it mildly, it's a big shame on them. My favorite brand right now is Mido, they are quite honestly priced and their quality is way over what you'd expect for the money.
Appalling and enough to stop me buying one. I wish I'd watched your video first, as I'd seen others and decided this was the watch for me. It was a toss up between this one and the all bronze version, but not so now. I see Tudor replaced it, so presumably if a person needs decent service, they will have to make a video and state their case.
Omega is king! Really, the reliability is top and you don't have availability issues.
I have a Seamaster Diver 300 from 2008. It has never ever been serviced and it still runs@ chronometer specs. It runs fast at +/- 3 secs per day.
I wish I could agree. My 2 year old Speedy is going have to go in for repair, as it unexpectedly stops every now and again.
I have the Omega Seamaster ( Bond ) automatic. Owned it since 2012 . Never serviced , worn it everyday since that year. It looses 2 minutes a month .
I call that a great watch ! I agree ! 👍
i had this happen with a Baume Mercier - it was movement issue with the main spring. The watch had been overwound. I had bought it used from an AD, and luckily they handled the repair.
That sucks. My brand new black bay stopped just like this about 5 yrs ago. One of the original in house watches. I didn’t even have the warranty card with me when I bought it. They took my watch and replaced the entire movement, replaced the Crystal since I had already managed to scratch it and polished it before sending it back. I bought a pelagos and the quick set date function stopped. I bought it used with no warranty card and they STILL fixed it and didn’t charge me. I currently have 5 tudors because I love them so much and how they’ve treated me. Decided to start buying from my AD because they’ve been so good. Payed off because they offered me a Sea dweller over Christmas because I’ve bought so many other watches from them. Love my tudors though.
You just convinced me to NOT BUY a Tudor or Rolex. I have been on the list playing the game as well and something not my preferred color came available and I was doing some last min research trying to talk myself out of it because I already have a tainted view and this video was the nail in the coffin. I had a used Rolex before and honestly couldn’t believe what someone bought it from me for. I honestly think I’m going with one of the micro brands. Thanks for sharing!
That’s a real shame to hear, I’m 22 and this was a goal watch for me to buy in the next year or so but I’m definitely thinking otherwise now.
I’d look at other brands. These Kenissi movements Tudor is using are possibly suspect, and the company service is pitiful.
Years ago I bought an Omega Speed master which ran fine till I started the chronograph whereupon it would stop after 5 minutes. I took it back to the dealer who asked me to leave it with them for the day. I got a call from them the next day to say that there is a problem with the watch and it needed to be returned to Omega as faulty. Just as my heart was sinking he said he'd ordered another identical watch in from one of their other branches as a replacement for me, which should be with them in a couple of days. So that same week I had a replacement watch which worked perfectly and has given me sterling service for 13 years. I was lucky that I bought it from a large nationwide chain of jewellers. Great customer service.
Ya it sounds like Omega has a superior customer experience.
I have been reading the comments here and it is actually not good to see how many people got issues, this should not be happening with a brand like Tudor , specially that is a Rolex brand. I know some says they did not have issues with their watches but you don’t buy a 4000 or 5000 watch worrying about future problems and future disappointments with the service department
Ohh man, I’m very OCD when it comes to stuff like this, and I would be furious if the watch came back like that, like really the manufacturer basically destroyed the bezel. That would be a thorn in my side if it came back with those defects, let alone like you said on a 4 figure watch. Thank you for the information, Tudor watches definitely never going to go for that brand.
For what it’s worth, Tudor did end up replacing the watch:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
I have had Wittnauer, Longines and Seiko watches in the past with no movement problems. I have heard the more complicated a movement is , the greater risk of problems. Certain brands like Tag Heuer and Tissot have had issues with watches still under warranty. An AD told me he sees certain brands come in more often with problems.
What a bummer! So sorry to hear you had this experience. I’ve had the 925 for about a year and had zero issues. My AD says they would deal with any potential problems at any time, but I haven’t needed service yet. I love mine, and have other Tudors, but the way they dealt with you is demoralizing. If they treat even .003% of their customers like that then it needs to be addressed. I hope you have only positive experiences with other brands in the future.
They told me the same thing about taking care of any issues. As you can see, when rubber meets road it’s not so pleasant.
Sorry to hear about your experience...... Real crappy on Tudors part.
A couple of points:
1. If they changed parts and serial numbers, won't there be a disparity between the serial number on your original Tudor paperwork, and would that not affect future resale?
2. If they had the watch in their possession for 6 months, that's approximately 10% of the manufacturers warranty used up (assuming a 5 year total warranty). Did they offer to extend the warranty by 6 months, or could you return to the AD and request they honour this?
I'm not sure what the Trading Laws are like where you are at, but fortunately we do have specific laws in the UK that protect consumer purchases.
Hope everything eventually works out for you mate.
1) the AD said they keep track of the multiple series and suggested I keep the letter from Rolex which shows both serials (the one I showed in video with redactions).
2) that’s another great point. I lost 10% of Tudor warranty period on their horrible quality control or poor in-house movements. Yet another reason to stay clear of Tudor. I did ask for a refund but the AD refused.

Wow, just finished watching the video. This is unacceptable. Theyre honestly lucky that you didn't go back there and make a big deal about this. Honestly, I would have been breathing fumes about this and would have likely gone back to the AD and demanded a new watch. Thanks for sharing this experience. Will definitely take it into consideration when considering Tudor.
He SHOULD go back. Why settle for less than perfection when you spend this amount money on a watch? He has warranty.
Tudor service my watch last year and did a great job, plus I inspected it at the AD BEFORE I LEFT.
I’ve had some similar issues since I’ve started watch collecting, and you’re right, it’s infuriating. It really does crap all over one’s excitement for the hobby, for sure. I will say, that I own the 925 and luckily, I’ve not yet had any issues with it. I’ve also owned a Blue Bay 58 with no issues. But i’ve purchased other luxury watches from AD’s that arrived with cosmetic damage or movement problems, and my experience with seeming like no one gives a shit once you have these issues, is the same as yours. I’m also similar in that I won’t buy from an AD where I’ve had issues, and I won’t buy a watch with the same movement as one that I’ve had problems with in the past. And then I’ll make sure to leave my thoughts about the AD and the watch in reviews online. It’s all part of learning, I guess. And for what it’s worth, I’ve noticed that Tudor has no customer service that I can find on their website, so that’s pretty concerning. Anyway, good luck in your watch collecting journey, man.
And thats why i wouldnt touch the new gmt. Well written
Thank you for sharing and sorry to hear about your tough luck.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Tudor. I was close to buy one but I don’t think I am interested anymore. I get that some products might fail which is not right considering that still an experience watch , that bothers the most is the service they give, I can Imagine the frustration. I’ll take look at your content since you mention the with cameras 🤩
Yes I agree. I’d the service had been pleasant, such as 6 weeks and gotten my exact watch back with a properly functioning movement, I’d have been happy. Waiting 6 months to get a “new” watch with marred bezel, no thanks. Tudor is dead to me. Lost all trust in the brand after this.
Dang, sorry to hear. My Tudor GMT kept having troubles with the date wheel sticking. I took it in and they said that it's a common problem; funny that they didn't mention it when I bought the watch or that Tudor did not recall their watches to fix a "known" problem. Tudor is a loser's Rolex. I'll stick with my Seiko Tuna and Seiko SBDC141.
Sadly accurate. Fake bullshit brand milking Rolex heritage.
I had the same issues with a BB GMT.
So I bought a bb 58 blue, similar issue, bought in late December, sent to ad for repair and didn’t get it back until 6 months later. It’s running perfectly now. Give them a chance to make it right.
I already gave them 6 months and they failed.
The lighting, background, and the way you told this story were like a Jerry Springer show.😇🤑 Just having fun, nice episode.

In regards to the bezel, with it being made out of 925 silver I’m willing to bet it’s impossible to remove without damaging it. The material is much more softer than stainless steel. Part of the reasons I avoided the silver watch all together.
I bet you are right. Hence them needing to simply use new bezel. Tudor did end up replacing my watch. Posted video:

On the 925 silver black bay, the bezel is still aluminium, the case and strap is 925 silver. They should have just slapped a new bezel on when they marred yours…
@@stuartarbuthnot8487 The bezel insert is aluminum, the rest of the bezel assembly is silver.
This is like the 4th negative video I have seen about BB58. Two videos were for the Sterling silver turning yellow rather than patina-ing nicely. Another one is of the Ceramic model stopping within a short time after purchase, similar to what happened in this video. Same comment about customer service too.
What a story! Thanks for sharing. Definitely one of the worst customer service runarounds I've heard of. I've been considering a Doxa 300 but might get an homage Seestern instead for $175
Can definitely recommend a Doxa, no issues with my 300t, reliable ETA movement can get it serviced anywhere!
Well the Gentlemans cost tutor £3000 I was going to buy BB 58 this week I live in the UK I’ve got one the black Bay 36 but I’m too frightened now to buy any more that’s cut my watch collecting short I’ll stick to Seiko.
I had a very similar experience from Rolex, I bought a new silver/ white OP39 from an AD in NZ. Black dots came out from the pinions and marked the otherwise flawless dial (within 2 months of purchase). I sent it back and the AD initially tried to tell me that it was my fault and I had been wearing it without the crown screwed in (not true I babied it). After several months it was returned with some light scratches on the caseback but a clean dial. There was no paperwork that explained what they did. Within a week new black specks showed up on the dial. It was again sent away for 5 months. Again it came back with black specks on the dial. I sent it in for a third time and when it came back it was fine (though the hands had fine scratches on them). I decided to sell it when someone offered me more than I paid for it. Unfortunately, it was publicly discontinued a few days after I sold it. It is a shame as it otherwise would have been a dream daily. Rolex after sales service is very very poor here in New Zealand and I simply would not buy another Rolex, so much hype for such poor quality and experience.
Very sad that Rolex also has issues like this. I need to send my dad’s old Submariner (1986) away to Rolex for a service. I’ll stress for sure. BTW, Tudor replaced the watch after all this. I posted an update video:

Thank you for your story. There is no way on God's earth I'll buy a watch from them after the trouble you have had from them! Thank you.
@@MrPINKFL0YD did you watch the follow up video? They did replace the watch in the end. But the whole situation was very frustrating.
What a terrible experience with Tudor , I feel for you brother .
Really sorry you had a bad experience with the Tudor, but I don’t think this is an isolated incident, and people have had similar issues with them, and the movements. Some are okay I imagine, but it’s definitely a brand I would avoid. You can get a lovely Fortis Flieger F-39 for less money, with a sellita based moment, that is basically an ETA , that will give you excellent performance and value for money. I’d definitely steer clear of Tudor.
I have 3 Tudors . A GMT, a Black bay 58 bronze boutique and a vintage 1980'S oyster date with rolex case and movement. My wife also has a tudor royal date adjust.
No problems at all from here
Yes, I have 4 other Tudors (3 purchased after this situation with the 925). I am a fan of the brand, but this situation was still very poor. Thankfully they ended up replacing the watch and getting my situation resolved. I posted an updated video a while back. Its linked in both description and comments if you are curious. The Black Bay 58 Bronze is my favorite watch in my collection. I picked it up earlier this summer and it is incredible.
So sorry to hear this. I have a Tudor Black Bay Chrono. I have had it for one year +. One of the reasons why I bought it from an AD, is that I was scared to buy a luxury watch with an in-house movement via grey market or preowned. I figured the extra few dollars was worth it for the 5-year warranty. Now I am nervous! However, I do put the blame on both the AD and dealer. Dealer should simply go back to Tudor and fight to get you a new watch. Quality control of the repair sounds abysmal. I would also be very upset if I experienced what you experienced. My Seikos have also been great! AD should really step in and simply demand a new bezel for you. Or better yet, take the bezel off another watch, give it to you and let them deal with waiting for Tudor to supply them another one.
Thanks for sharing your unfortunately negative experience. I’ve been looking at BB58’s and thought I was getting closer to buying one. Now I’m drawn back a little bit. Hope it all works out for you!
I hope so too. Tudor actually got in contact with me last week and plans to fix this situation. If it all pans out as I hope, I’ll post a follow up about what they did.
Tudor replaced the watch. ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
Dang bro, sorry to hear about your experience.
Like many other comments have suggested, I wouldn’t let them off the hook. Talk to the manager or owner of the AD and explain calmly the situation and even send them this video.
They’ll make it right.
You should also share the AD’s name on this video.
Absolutely horrible. Thank you for sharing this!!
You’re very welcome. If I can help people avoid such a terrible experience, all the better.
Absolutely terrible. Sorry for your experience. Thanks for the warning.
Things worked out. I’m uploading a follow up tomorrow. Tudor reached out and replaced the watch.

I got the winding noise and high resistance issue on my new 2021 Tudor black bay 58 blue dial after couple weeks wearing. The Tudor AD helped me send the watch to Tudor service center. It took more than two months to fix the issue. I suspect the Tudor manufacturing process and quality control are totally different than Rolex. I totally agreed with you that Do not buy Tudor watches.
Yep. It’s a shame as they make some beautiful looking watches. But the movements are not up to the level of other Swiss makes, and the service is dogshit. Tudor is dead to me.
You are right. I went to Tourneau to re-condition a leather Dior watch. I ask to keep old band and stuff. Instead of explaining to me it is not usually done. He basically called me impossible. I eventually went to Dior boutique and got it done.
Tudor should have hid this ugly movement behind a case. I feel bad for you man. Wish you all the best and thanks for sharing.
Tudor ended up replacing the watch:

I want to buy a Tudor BB85, but you help me save money. Thank you for your sharing. I understand your feeling. Hope you can get other better nice watch. Hope you have a nice day.
Tudor ended up replacing the watch. See my update:

I heard of a lot of similar stories, the most honest thing they could of done is give a full refund.
Shame shame Tudor. Thank you very much for sharing your experience
Thanks for the video! What a terrible experience! You are right, maybe most don't have any issues but if there is one they should take care of you if there is an problem. Brutal. I have been lucky in my watch purchase. Interesting that I was thinking of getting a Tudor, now I don't know. I've been happy with even the micro brands like Halios and Monta, super nice guys at those shops.
Thank you for sharing such a horrible experience. I can see that happened with many AD's when you walk in; they get all over you because they want your money once they make the sell..They don't know you if you have any future problems. Just like a car sell man at a dealership. 🤬😡. Paying $$$$ and receiving mediocre service that's unacceptable 😤. Good luck 👍🏽
Exactly. Your analogy is perfect. Swoon over you until you pay. Then when you come back you are an annoyance.
Thank you for sharing, I was in the process of saving for a Tudor, not anymore, or at least I'm giving it some more thinking.
Yep, you could end up like me. It’s always a possibility.
So sorry you had to deal with this. Taking notes. Was going to buy a BBGMT or Pelagos. May have to check out speedmasters instead.
Yeah it can be good or bad. I had experience in Singapore sending in a Tudor and they fixed it up really good and fast because I went directly to Rolex Service Centre. On another occasion, the AD finally got my waitlist and when I went to pick up my black bay 58, there was a huge scratch on the side of the case, and the AD told me I can either take it or leave it. They will probably sell it to the next person who is willing to polish it.
Don't trust watch tubers! Period! We need more vids like yours. Rolex SA that owns Tudor is shiting the bed lately!
Yep, “Shill-Tube”.
Thanks for this video, very interesting. I'm a watch collector and massive Tudor fan. I own multiple Tudor pieces however most of mine have not been serviced yet as as most of my collection is fairly new, however I bought a Harrods limited edition Tudor in 2020 as a investment piece so put this straight in my safe, the last time I went to my safe to wind the watch the stem and crown completely came away from the watch!! I was extremely surprised and disappointed as never worn this watch as only wind it occasionally to keep the movement used so it doesn't seize up. I took the watch in last week and they told me it will be 6-8 weeks to be repaired! Let's hope i don't have the same disaster. However even if my aftercare experience is better, for the stem and crown to come away from a watch of this value without wearing it is pretty poor.
That sucks!!! You didn’t even wear it and now it’s in for repairs. Very poor indeed.
I bought my Tudor GMT at an AD, new back in 2019. Everything went well, champagne, great team etc. After 2 days I noticed on the 4 o'clock a what it looks like a hair, a tiny arm or other part of the body hair. I went back to the AD, we both "laugh" offered me more champagne and a Rolex tie for the inconvenience.
They send back the watch in Switzerland, after less than a month, got my watch back. Everything went perfect, I bought 4 more watches from them.
That’s how it should have gone. My experience wasn’t anything like that. It was doubt about the movement having a problem. Telling me I must not be wearing or winding it enough. Refusing refund. Then saying they can send back but prepare to wait. Then endless calls for months. Finally to get a damaged watch back. Colossal failure. Thankfully Tudor ended up watching this video and replacing my watch:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
I’m considering asking my AD to put me on list for the Black Bay Pro now. Going to wait a bit though. Don’t want to be a beta tester of a new piece again. Didn’t work out so well for me with 925.
@@EDHBlvd oh wow, I'm glad Tudor came to back to you and helped you out.
In my opinion, Tudor is a fantastic company, so glad this brand is "affordable" and "available".
I am my self on a waiting list for the BB chrono white dial, tried the watch, loved it.
I hope you'll get your pro, I am not that fan of it yet, I really hope they will make a white dial with a green or orange even blue GMT hand, that would be nice I think.
Stay safe ! from France ;)
Man, thanks for posting. Id heard they had movement problems before. I really like the FXD design but will need consider based on your exp
FWIW, Tudor saw this video and reached out to me through the AD. They ended up replacing my watch. I posted an update:

Great insights. You can spend a lot of money, only to be unhappy and super stressed.
Lol I just waited 6 months to get my bb58 back after I brought it in. I told them I thought it was running slow, they said they would have it back to me Thursday the next week and six months later I got it back. They said it was originally off 4 seconds….. I didn’t think they even sent a watch away for that lol
I wouldn't blame Tudor entirely for this, the problem is with the service centers. From what I've seen it's completely different in Europe and in the USA. The issue is the movements in these watches are still pretty new, in-house movements and they indeed have had some issues with them unfortunately and if they can't be sent back to Switzerland for a proper treatment this is what you get. Some service centers are just BAD and it's very hard to control every single one of them...
I blame Tudor as they shouldn’t have released the watch without adequate parts supply on hand for repairs. I blame Tudor because their poor quality control is allowing many duds out the door. Finally I blame Tudor for having such poor Tudor Authorized Service Centers. If they cared about their brand they would ensure the service centers do top notch work. The result of not doing this, is the very poor experience I went through.
Sorry for your bad experience bud
It’s alright. In the end, Tudor replaced the watch:
ruclips.net/video/CX3Lp1WORek/видео.html
THANKS FOR THE INFO.
WAS GOING TO BUY ONE AND HAVE JUST BAKED OFF!!!
NO WAY WANT TO GO THROUGH THIS...
YOU SHOULD OF GOTTEN A NEW WATCH....
WHAT A NIGHTMARE...
Nightmare indeed.
Your experience and the return of a watch with a damaged part makes me so nervous about sending out any watch for service. Apparent lack of oversight throughout the process is troubling. You can easily observe issues on the outside of the watch. So one can only imagine potential mistakes made on the inside!
Great point. Who knows how careless the work is. BTW, Tudor replaced the watch. I posted an update video.
