- Been meaning to do this for a while. Just got around to it. I always find it funny when Mr. Gold uses his "Please" clause. That may just be me, but here you go, all the pleases. If I missed one, PLEASE, let me know.

Honestly, as cool as Rumple is anyway, this power he has over Regina with just this one simple word makes him seem all the more awesome, lol. Darn it, I miss season 1.
I like the fact that Rumpelstiltskin doesn't play around when says "please." Every time he says "please," I think of him saying, "I don't feel like being messed with and when don't feel like being messed with, don't mess with me."
The "Please" always cracked me up, especially when he was in jail and she came to gload and he goes "PLEASE, sit"
And you could see this involuntary sort of jolt shift through Regina. Brilliant acting...
It always made me wonder why he didn't just say please give me the cup back though. Unless he decided it was now time to reveal himself.
That very first please of the series the one where he takes the bite out of the apple. The look on Regina’s face says it all. She realizes what just happened. She realizes just how far Rumple’s power and genius planning goes. She thought she had beat everyone including Rumple. But he played her for a damn fool. And she knows it at that exact moment.
She was putty in his hands the entire time. I believe it was season 5 or 6 where he told her she was nothing more than a pawn in his game.
She really screwed herself over when she agreed to the whole 'please' thing.
The 1st"please"scene is 1 of the most POWERFUL scenes of ALL the serie,I totally,absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!*_______* With the dropped apple and everything...
Yeah love it, once you realize he still has his memories it makes everything more interesting, like him greeting Emma in town.

I ♥️ early Rumple, before the writers ruined him and when his motivation still made sense. And when he occasionally spoke above a whisper.

To be fair his entire motivation was achieved in Season 3 - he got to be reunited with his son, and was forgiven for the deal he broke. They had to give him some other motivation afterwards.

I love the first one as Mr. Gold and the last one in his shop. There's something so utterly dominating about such a polite word.
Ahahahaha I can't XDXDXD He's awesome. And the interesting part that he could've ask her for ANYTHING, but he used it only to shut her up XD

Rumple didn't necessarily know that she had the cup, and he certainly didn't know why she stole it from him. But he did know that she had something bugging her. Something that she saw as enough motivation for her to go after him. If he didn't take care of her issue then, she was going to come after something else of his later.

That... was kinda my point. He had to ask her if she had the cup because he wasn't quite sure if she was the one who had it stolen. Once she said yes, then he understood "Okay, you want something from me, what do you want?"
He avoided saying his name because he was trying to keep the illusion that he was still cursed and didn't remember.

Yes, he could, but he still would not have known what it is she wanted from him to begin with. And even if she couldn't steal from him again, clearly she was determined to know if he remembered or not. That meant she was dangerous. It's likely she would try something else in the future. Rather than risk that, he satisfied her curiosity, got his cup back and reminded her of just how powerful he was even while behind bars.
It was also a nice bit of exposition too. We didn't know if any of the fairytale world was real or in Henry's head until Rumple confirmed it for us.
I get it, Rumple could have overused his "please" to great effect, and we all would have done exactly that in his place. The fact that he chose not to, just made it all the more entertaining when he did say it.
Ah yes, the magic word your mother taught you, used properly by the Dark One.
My favorite was the last one. You could see it in his face that the old Rumpel was starting to come out.

Wording is so very important... see the scene about Gold and Regina arguing about intent (or pretty much any prophecy used in any story)!

Ah, true! How stupid of me.
Yes... it's interesting because when you think about it intent is actually important when you're trying to do magic. Well 'intent' is one way to put it, when it's actually emotions that make a person's magic work. But when it comes to spells&prophecies, like you mentioned - then the wording is what matters the most. They have to be as precise as possible otherwise one would have unexpected consequences. :)

Anyway, in deals with the dark one it's really not about intent at all... It's all in the wording, dearie! ;)
(And it keeps annoying me that people say exactly that, only to turn around and make a very unspecific request themselves that have loopholes and room for interpretation en masse, and then come complaining when they didn't get what they want, but what they asked for...)

No. In the beginning of season 2, after the curse was broken, Regina came to Rumple because she wanted her mother's spell book to jumpstart her magic. Rumple wasn't too keen on doing this for her and said, "Leave. Please." However, Regina was unfazed and said, "How about that? Your pleases have lost their punch," meaning that with the breaking of the curse, this deal was no longer in effect.

Didn't Regina question Rumple when she first adopts Henry about who his mother is? Why does she do it again here?
+iRazenrak bc once Emma broke the curse, Regina remembered herself as TEQ, yes!
But, there was something else in '2x01: Broken' S2s premiere, Emma noticed that she had Jefferson's hat, but Regina didn't remember him, she only knew him as the Hatter from Wonderland. So I think, in '2x17: Welcome2SB' later on in 2B. Regina did ask Gold 'your question about not knowing Emma' but GQ did acknowledge the fact that Regina had one of Henry's hand paintings. So in S3. Gold did promise Regina he would give her a child... which is what he tells her in this episode. Regina, then knew who Emma was, but bc Henry wouldn't stop crying in '3x09: Save Henry' when Regina was about to give him back to the Adoption Agency as Pan, had found Henry and ordered the DarlingBros to grab him in Boston and bring BabyHenry to Neverland, I still wonder about where/how Gold found him, coincidentally. This one! still hasn't been explained how Gold found Henry in the first place, what?! Did he just get a call from the prison where Emma was at, once Henry arrived in Boston?! I mean, he was with another family before Regina, after Emma sent him away. Anyway! I think, we will never know the end of this! But! LATER! In this episode, Regina erased her memories of having any recollection of knowing who Emma was, as Henry's birth mother. bc the only way Regina would be a good mother, is if she forgot all the things she had known about Emma, bc she was starting to suspect that Emma was the Savior to break the Dark Curse, so when she ???d Gold again. That's how in '1x02: The Thing You Love Most' episode, which is the 2nd scene on this video . Regina doesn't remember saying what she asked Gold, in Save Henry. So this is basically the timeline, that had anything to with GoldenQueen about Henry, unless, I, myself have missed an episode.

In actuality, I kind of doubt it, but it's fun to poke at and consider.

There is a strange thing/ Why did not he use his "please"? when he wanted to return his teacup? He couldn not forgot the power of this word. So, I have no idea, why did not he use this word when he wanted to take anything from Regina.

+Вера Балинер My guess is that the "please" thing was intended to be a cue for Regina to start becoming suspicious of his memory. I mean, think about it. He goes 28 years without asking her for the time of day...and now Emma shows up and suddenly he's Mr. Please. He had to know she would get suspicious--and I think that's why he did it.
He probably just knew he was caught and decided to spill the beans
I think he knew she'd find a way to smash the teacup. Maybe not personally, maybe it would be through a crony, but the only way to keep it safe would be to answer the question.

When he greets Emma I can't tell he has his memory...I only know that because I read it.And in the apple scene I couldn't tell if they had their memory or if they were just acting"instinctely"(I don't know if I spelled it right,I'm not English)...and THAT'S interesting!
