Daniel Ricciardo publicly SLAMS Lance Stroll

  • Daniel Ricciardo was fuming at Lance Stroll after having his race ruined. Lance Stroll ran straight into Daniel during a safety car, and refused to take any of the blame. Ricciardo became furious when he found that Lance Stroll had blamed him and the other cars in front for the crash, and didn't hide his thoughts on the situation. Lance Stroll has been racing in Formula 1 since 2027, and with his father Lawrence owning Aston Martin, it's unlikely anything will change. Or could it? Enjoy!

  • @rars0n
    @rars0n Месяц назад +26

Stroll's accident was a boneheaded move that shouldn't have happened. However, had he just owned up to it and apologized to Daniel, I'd be way more willing to overlook it as the stupid, unfortunate mistake that it was. Since I watch via F1TV, I have the luxury of rewinding and switching to an onboard to watch what happened from the driver's perspective, which I did immediately, and I got SO ANGRY when Lance said "idiot brake checked me."
And again, even though it was clearly 100% his fault, I know that drivers often say dumb stuff on the radio in the heat of the action. I would have been content with just mocking him for saying something so ridiculous had he come out in the post-race interview and said "Yeah, I'm sorry, I just blurted that out due to frustration." But instead, he doubled down. At this point I'm actually not sure if Lance even realizes that it was completely his fault.
There are a number of things I actually like about Lance, and I generally think he gets shit on a bit too much. But this is yet another example of the things I really *don't* like about Lance, like his sometimes bratty attitude and his occasional total lack of awareness on track. Lance's problem isn't that he can't drive, it's that he can... but he's not anywhere near consistent enough, especially with as lengthy a career as he's had. I said last year that Lawrence is the kind of guy that would fire his own son if that's what it took to win a championship, and I thought last season could have been Lance's last. I think Lawrence has proven me wrong, and if his depiction in Drive to Survive is accurate, it seems that his goal is less to make AMR a winning team and more to do whatever makes his son happy.
Lance is a good driver, he's just not a good enough F1 driver. Put him in the hypercar. Get his ass out of the F1 seat. I know it won't happen until this season is over, but there's no way Lance deserves an F1 seat in 2025. He's making a mockery of the entire team.

For those who don't remember Yuji Ide was the driver who was kicked out of the sport (having his FIA Super License revoked, effectively banning him) after 4 races in 2006, where he was much slower than his teammate and causing serious accidents.

I wasn't into F1 until very recently, when I read that Alonso was going to race for Astom Martin. I knew how good he was but I didn't know the full story but I have to say that I love Aston Martin as a brand, like, they are the underdogs on the motorsports world that refusee to diem both on and off track. So I gave it a go last year, and started wacthing, and boy that was a good call, seeing a car that overall no expetations, be so close to Red Bull, and leaving both AMG and Ferrari in the dust at least for half season, was mindblowing. And I read about Stroll's story, I kinda felt empathy for him, maybe he was under too much pressure due to his that issue, and that's why he was underperforming, I wanted him to do well. Having said that, this issue with Ricciardo was a mess, you basically don't care about anything, you don't improve, you don't elaborate, you're reckless, basically, you're not doing your job. I think the guy had his chance, and he has to leave, like, no offence, but I don't expec anything from him anymore, I fully believe that Bruno would do 3 times better. I still like AM as a team, and I hope they get better, because they showed they completely capable.

My point is that Fernando Alonso also touched the gravel in the last corner and the car snapped but Fernando recovered the car and he did not crashed, unbelievable skill still at his age.
One could argue then that Fernando is better than Sainz and Stroll has zero chance of coming close.

Let's keep it real here. Sh*t like that happens. Remember when Danny offed Albon in Japan because he wasn't paying attention or looking elsewhere? Yes it's bad, but let's not make a mountain out of a molehill.
He's the team owners son and that's that, simple. We may not like it but that's the way it is. Lawrence is a businessman and I'm sure if it gets too bad, he'll make a business decision. But I don't think we're there (yet). What Lance said about Danny brake testing him was said in the heat of the moment. And Danny is p*ssed off, rightfully so. But don't forget Japan. Every drivers makes mistakes.

There is a YT video of "Every Single Lance Stroll Crash". There is one thing you will notice in almost all of them. He has no clue of what or who is around him. He's looking at his racing line and that's it. Also if a Track has walls, he's crashing into them.

Honda might push Tsunoda on the 2nd AT car when their deal comes into effect.
Alonso already has a deal and is secured for some time, so i believe Stroll will be racing his last season next year as no team will want him, obviously. They may give him a test driver job and the opportunity to say he's retiring on his own terms, not getting fired.

    • @enriquejavier8056

no, he could only be forced to be suspended for 1 race, and thats only after he gets like 21 points on his license. Its really hard to actually get suspended. There have been drivers in the past that were basically forced to retire, i think the last one was like 20 years ago, a japanese guy.

You hit the nail on the head; I don’t know how anyone on the Aston team can take themselves seriously with such a clown driving for them. All he had to do is take ownership over a mistake, but that’s apparently too much to ask for. The guy has zero awareness, on or off the track.

Is it really crazy to think that he should had quit on his own accord a long time ago? I mean, if my dad had a team and ok, I got in because of nepotism but if I didn't perform well in the course of a season, I think I'm the one that should step aside on my own for the benefit of the team right? I don't think it's an ego thing. It's the opposite. If you have a big ego, you probably want to leave a situation in which you are constantly being humiliated. If anything he has low self stem and tries to mask it with an attitude.
