Right off hand I can’t remember where I saw this on a website that pointed out all the errors and variations for 1989 Topps. But there is a variation of the Gregg Jeffries and also Gary Sheffield, where the Future Star logo is actually printed higher and lower in some cards. It’s been a while since I’ve gone through my 89 Topps, but I do have the a Gregg Jeffries where the Future Stars logo is placed wrong. Pretty interesting. Right off hand can’t remember which is more common, if it’s placed lower or higher.
Do you have a video that shows how to determine a fixed barrel from unfixed? I cannot find anywhere on the manufacturer site where they state which each model is.
I have a topps gold cup ken Griffey Jr card but the back is completely blank and I haven't been able to find anything about it,any info would be helpful ..thanks
If it brings back memories then it has value to you. Actual value... not so much. There's a few cards here and there worth a few bucks from this era. You can check sold listings on ebay (NOT current listings). Beckett almanac may give you some idea as well. Just don't quit your day job. Hope this helps.
lol no day job to quit so im doing great@@Hungryman97sCollectibles my dad got these for me a long while ago before he passed so theres some sentimental value i guess but he got them for me to sell them one day so i am just going through trying to get all the cards worth five plus bucks to gether i mean i have some good ones also some seventies and sixties cards lots of shaq and jordan cards as well. where would you suggest i go look at selling them or is my best bet to get a bunch graded and try selling Them myself i know thats how i get the most out of them
Yes I think so. I think I talked about it in my "tale of two errors" video. Be cautious. Those sellers are more than likely creating an artificial hype.
If Nostalgia had an actual money value...89 Topps would be worth a million$$$$$!! I started in 89 too!I I have never heard of most of these exist. I have never heard of these errors. It sounds like the 90 Donruss with the period/missing period?!?!? I love the 89--ALL the sets!
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles No kidding! I am only sending out TTM's now. I do like garage sales and antique stores but you just never know what you'll run into.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles I have a buddy who talked to me about 90 Donruss with the missing . and how they were errors. I had never heard of that before either.
I'm not familiar with that particular error. There may not be another like it. These junk wax era cards can have strange dots from printing. But the dob... I have no idea. I'm happy to take a look. My email is zagarfarts@yahoo.com if you'd like to send a pic my way. Thnx.
I looked up both of those. The 500 Canseco I actually made a video about. Another trick by sellers. Some of the stat headers are cut off. ALL of these are cards are like that, adding NO extra value. The 753 Uribe doesn't have a confirmed error. Are you referring to his DOB wrong? Then it's on all his cards and has NO extra value. Both cards are worth a quarter. Ignore those crazy prices on Ebay. Hope this helps.
Your error videos are always great. 1989 was a great year of card collecting. Like you it was my first real heavy year into collecting.
👍
Came across this video after I found my box of 1989 Topps...Turns out I have the Bob Welch card.
That's a cool one!! Thanks for commenting.

Cool!! I'm aware of the Sheffield one. I did a video just about that card.
But I don't know about the Jefferies one. I'll check that one out! Thnx.
Great vid! Thanks for doing this, as I just won a box of 1989 wax in a contest, and I'll be busting it soon.
That's fun! This set brings back a lot of memories for me.
@@Hungryman97sCollectibles Me too. Unfortunately, I opened a ton of Topps from 87-90. lol
Great vintage cards!
I once tried to eat the gum from a pack of 1990 Topps hockey cards. Thankfully,I'm ok!😄😄😄

Any chance you have a 1989 felix holguin from the cubs
I don't think so. I'm not familiar with who he is. Anyone you know?
Do you know anything of the Jose conseco errors and some of the cards listed as errors on eBay. Right now are listed for hundreds.

@@Hungryman97sCollectibles thanks! Yeah I know how they do that. I don't buy from eBay.

Isn’t there a Garry Sheffield error
I was going to tell you about my Gary Sheffield video but it looks like you already found it. His Future Star variations are pretty cool.
