    Litroyo is right, he is really boring.
    Instead of trying things out, instead of playing smart or intelligently, he just wasted units over and over again. He deserved to lose.
    Not only that, but Fatslob did a really good job! There were some really nice fights in there, and while you can tell he doesn't have quick reactions he made the scorpions a key part of his composition to help compensate for that, which is a very intelligent thing to do.
    To the people getting all self righteous about Fatslob's playstyle, the guy is playing to have a good time. He doesn't harass anyone, he doesn't hurt anyone, he doesn't exploit anyone. The settings are clear, and if you find yourself not having fun, just drop out of the game. He's not gonna stick around if he gets rushed because he knows his reaction speed isn't the best, so why waste the time and maybe get frustrated. He seems like a nice, chill dude who just wants to have his fun, slow, long AOE2 games.

    • @Quandry1
      @Quandry1 6 лет назад +23

      And his comp is more solid than some might expect it to be. he could switch out one or two things if he wanted. But overall it's pretty rounded for dealing with a number of different kinds of threats wit hthe mix of scorpions, berserkers and trebuchet's. He even switched it up over time to compensate it a bit.

    Fatslob has simply found the way to have fun for himself. No judgement there. It certainly is unusual: same game type and strategy for years, but it works for him, and he’s perfected it so he has a decent chance to win.
    T90 should highlight Fatslob, because he mastered a strategy that wins, when nobody thinks he should. I bet if the developers knew of Fatslob, he would become a favorite for mastering systems designed to let noobs win. It would prove that they programmed the game well to give all skill levels a chance to win.

    I actually like the way he plays! It changes the meta a bit that seems to be a set regime of getting to castle ASAP and then cutting the enemy off before they even get a foot hold on the map! I get that’s clever etc but I love the battles and strategy that plays out with late game battles when both people have had a chance to boom and fully plan out their strategy and then they clash in a big battle where it can swing one way and then back and all sorts!
    Spending 20-30 minutes watching a game where both teams start off with the exact same sheep scout etc etc etc and then just as they almost get to the castle age or something, a handful of military rush in and kill a handful of villagers then people resign and start again!
    Basically it feels like the fastest person wins now not necessarily the best or most strategic

    • @ninjaturtlemaster24

      Correct. Most of the time these pros are just good at the 'game', where they are able to build fast and rush in, attack the enemy before they even have a chance to build an army.
      But their actual 'fighting' ability is actually probably average to equal to everyone else.
      Because when i play normal games im usually not that good, the opponents rush in or they attack me wehn im nowhere near ready. But when I play 'no rush/treaty' games then im very good. I have had time to build up and now its just a matter of whos more aggressive and better at fighting.
      Playing 'No rush/treaty' games i have won against pros or at least given them a run for their money.
