@@DPortain at least its a secure way to make HIM waste his resources, instead of yourself. Also trebuchets can self-protect themselves if massed, creating a courtain of fire against enemy trebs. You can do it if you out-economy him.
Its so painful to watch all these people that dont know fatslob and "his thing" start out with rams, being all confident thinking they will easily crush these walls and drive it home. And as a spectator you already know they'll be in for a surprise. Its tragic, I love it
Yeah, right. The "vastly superior" player pisses all of his units away in an obviously futile attack on a prepared defensive position. I'm so surprised that such massive superiority and towering geniusness failed to win the day. What a tragedy.
Many of the more traditionally skilled players aren't actually very good strategists. They're good at build orders and such but can struggle when encountering something new. I'd bet that anyone who does well in community games and has patience would easily beat Fatslob.
@DiscordChaos Except that T90 himself and the Viper had an easy time beating Fatslob. I mean yeah, the Viper's game died but I have seen him winning against T90 in a similar setting (cannon boar, siege war), so if TheViper > T90, I can assume that TheViper > Fatslob.
I never look at narrated videos, but seeing one of my old time favorites i played way to much back in the day, just feels nostalgic, keep it up dude, u make me wanne play it again
You know, I love your videos and the Fatslob legends are my favourites, but watching these videos also kind of make me feel sad now. Like you said, Fatslob just wants to do his thing and have fun his way and I admire that so much, but with the way he doesn't write back and all that I kinda feel like he wants to be left alone. Like because of these vidos so many wanna join and beat him with the unfair advantageof knowing his weakness. I think this fame he got is something that ruins many games for him and not something he enjoys. I am entertained and amazed by him but I also kind of feel bad while watching his videos.. Kind of like when you see a rare and unique kind of animal or people, everyone just wants to admire it andnot hurt it, so they just keep looking for it, taking pictures and bothering it and it must be horrible for the animal. Does anyone get what I am getting at? XD I know it's weird but I just wanna let Fatslob have his fun in peace, leave him to be an undisturbed an hidden wonder of the world.
It's funny and all, but as soon as you know what Slob does you can do exactly what was shown at the beginning of the video, or do nothing but creep slowly forward with trebs until you are in his base (if you have 8 hours to spare). His strat only works against people who don't know what he is doing, don't have the time to finish an incredibly long game, or are too dumb to figure out how to counter it, and keep throwing units at the walls.
So the uber wall serves to delay his opponent while he booms. Opponent then pisses away tons of gold trying to break wall while fatslob picks off his units from the other side, simultaneously frustrating his opponent which clouds their judgement. Builds up scorpions, zerkers, onegers, and trebs. When opponent finally breaks through he flattens them as they come through the tiny choke point. When his opponent is now hurting for gold he deletes his wall and pushes forward. gg
That stutter at the end of the video, I think you should recast the whole game. This is unacceptable, terrible quality content. I am angry and rate this video 4 stars.
Found your channel a few days ago. You will never see this because this vid is so old but I am really enjoying your commentating dude, and I never even played any AoE games lol. You just make it very entertaining :D
The day Fatslob leaves his comfort zone will be a bloody miracle. I dunno how someone can just keep doing the same thing over and over like this, and not get bored.
What's your point? People that play the same game for thousands of hours usually find ways to play said game differently to break up the monotony. I personally got over 1000 hours on TF2, but it's not like I just stuck to playing Deadringer Spy 24/7. I would have gotten sick of that after a week at most. This is just Fatslob playing the same exact match and play-style over and over. I don't get how he doesn't get bored of that.
Fatslob is an inspiration. Last week I played as Vikings against Hard AI on Black Forest and it was hilarious! Today I will take on Hardest AI with Turks. BBC's and BBT's are insane with Artillery
Uncommon opinion but I don't like players like Fatslob where the moment someone counters your "strat" you resign. It doesn't mean that the game cant last a long time but it makes him a one trick type of guy and playing against people like him ain't fun for me. Feel free to disagree.
T90 :'( You forgot the message Fatslob posted on Voobly after the very first video you made of him. I LOVE your casting. THANK YOU so much for all that you do!!! I cannot really follow your lives on Twitch but I'll made sure to donate soon.
This is so traditional viking as far as strategy. You establish the threat, You build a murder party and then let them lose their unites going after you, this is 2000 year old germanic viking tactics, you let your opponent send units and keep your units at home to slaughter them, because they have to streamline while you have everything at once. Then when the army is spent running out somewhere else, you sent in the berserkers to pillage the whole town and siege them into the stone age. The thing that's most viking about this, is the strategy never changes, and it doesn't always work, but that's just the way you viking.
He might be playing Vikings because he is Swedish, the Vikings came from Scandinavia. When I first started playing AoE 2 all I played was Britons because I am British.
Both I, and a friend (independently of one another) got into watching T90 because of Fatslob... there are seemingly a lot of us. It is funny to think what you might owe to some wing-nut Swede. Meanwhile, said wing-nut just keeps winging. (Preface:I am not a conservative, but I like the joke too much) If we had elected Fatslob, we would have not just 1, but 13 walls.
I know this guy in another game, It's called Awesomenauts. Basically what he does is suicide push, and never stop when it goes wrong. What's defending when you have superior push? He's so aggressive and suicidal it works. The other team either tries to pin him down and stop him from eating a turret in the first 5 minutes of the game, but he's pretty damn good mechanically. He doesn't play with his team but he doesn't need to. He takes the game by the balls and forces others into a playstyle that he can expect, and that's the great part. When he's fed 13 kills, barely killed anyone and your teammates are barely defending, he's at the enemy base pushing. Having a strategy so rigid that you'll never change it can lead to some intense shit.
Just some thoughts on how you could win this. 1. When the game starts, wall up just like Fatslob does. 2. Put outposts along the whole forest between you and Fatslob to identify which points his vision reaches far into the trees and where his vision is a bit thinner. 3. Boom and put 150 woodcutters along the map, on the trees separating you and Fatslob to thin the forest a little. Avoid his siege. His siege can't be everywhere simultaneously. 4. Prepare for battle. Cull your woodcutters, make lots of trebs and position each treb in a unique position along the dividing forest. Micro and just keep firing at trees in various spots on the map. Avoid his siege. His siege can't be everywhere simultaneously. 5. When you get close to a breakthrough, quick, send in arbalests to stop his villagers making new walls. Avoid his siege. His siege can't be everywhere simultaneously. 6. Cut through. Now make lots of gold units with your saved-up gold. Send skirmishers and/or knights or whatever you like into his economy. Avoid his siege. His siege can't be everywhere simultaneously.
Damn ... I'm getting back to this! Just for fatslob :D Haven't seen a movie or a TV series episode for 2 weeks, T90official gives me everything I need. 5 hour long game became standard routine during my studies on flat we rented with buddies ... we first started with pretty fast games (up to hour), with other flat-mates doing tons of mistakes, being slow, bad with micro etc., but as the time passed, the other guys stopped playing as three of us got close to perfection. We started to get unbelievable Age times even with little cheesy attempts during it and in the end ... whatever we played, one could not outplay the other until the low-resource endgame. Barbarian AI put us back for some time as we coop-ed only, but that was the end of it. Looking up to T90Official in 20 years of AoEII Rereremastered VR with direct brain control. Hope I'll once teach this game to my grandchildren...
If you want to win against fatslob, all you need is more time than he has. That's why these games are so frustrating: the winner is always the person who doesn't have a life outside of aoe2.
I feel like mass trebs and elite berserkers would be the best when he walls, also baiting him with occasional rams to bring his siege into range of the trebs.
The first 3 minutes really shows you the kind of person Fatslob really is. Never plays out games. Don't just let him do whatever he wants to do and he just leaves. no GG or anything. Unless you play him and let him play exactly how he wants to and basically let him win he quits.
That economy difference was so deceiving in the postgame analysis. Red threw away so many wood and gold units into the walls which meant he just had no steam once he DID finally breakthrough.
Fatslob is like the Zezima of AoE2. Gets a lot of criticism for how he plays the game, has a lot of fans or people that talk to him, but never really chats back, etc. The guy is a real interesting player.
I entered UNITY RTS tutorial in youtube search and right now i am watching aoe 2 for 3-4 hours. Can't stop it though, hillarious wasted all day though :( I myself have some hundreds of LAN games on it but i wasnt playing it since 2010. We did all these crazy stuff way back then though, like 10 hours games on blackforest with everybody had 50 pop on trade
I played this game a long time ago, i got upset at how weak walls were, and went and started playing stronghold instead. I am please to finally see walls and siege being effective.
I just don't understand how can Fatslob still enjoy doing this.. For all people reading this.. imagine doing the exact same thing over 4000 times and imagine that you still enjoy it.. Yes, we have jobs and school where we probably do this, but this is free time. In my opinion, beauty of Age of Empires 2 is that every match is different, even when you are playing against AI, it's always different. But fatslobs' games aren't. He literally plays only the same thing over and over again. And even when there's a chance that something new will actually happen, like when he gets countered, he immediately resigns. I saw some people here saying that he has autism, but I wont say that, I dont want to assume other people's conditions especially when I know so little of them. But I definitely think that fatslob has different thinking than most of people, because I can't imagine anyone playing the same map, same strat, same civ over 4000 times and still enjoy it, and actually refuse anything new (resigning when getting countered).
Ever heard a phrase "I love when the plan comes together!" ? That's Fatslob in nutshell. But that aside I think its just age thing. Think about this way, what is new and exciting (perhaps challenging) turn in events for you, is already old and seen by Fatslob. He probably already has over 500 times seen how losing the villager brawl ends. Now from my own experience I can say, repetitive doesn´t make it unfun. Grinding your enemies into paste and winning never gets old. Especially if they outclass you with pure physical prowess.
Its easy to understand, since the guy is probably old, like 50+. He cant almost cant win in normal settings since his APM and reaction time is so much worse from this. Se he needs to win by using a superior tactic only possible in a fixed scenario.
My name comes from a game called Planetside 2. I am known for just playing a single vehicle, the sunderer. I have an absurd amount of time in it, and for most of my time in the game I just played the one vehicle hour after hour. The thing is, there is no skill ceiling. I figured originally once I mastered the sunderer, i would move on. but I never mastered it, so I didnt stop. I have had some people blame me for getting that vehicle nerfed. (it did get significant nerfs). I dont know if that has any truth to it. So, i have about 3 months of playtime actually within the sunderer. The thing is, theres always some slight change to make in what i do. I think theres more variatio in what I do than fatslob has, but i can relate to him. Every game he plays gives him a deeper understanding of the strategy. even if he is playing the same type, he can still learn intricacies that you arent even close to understanding. just something to consider.
I dont get why u (t90) say that fatslob never talked to u. In an older video u said that he wrote u that he wants u to watch some games where he actually plays more offensive. So thats actually a nice and friendly question from him or not?
My guess is t90 meant no real-time talks... That thing you mentioned was a comment on their voobly account pages, not really a discussion, just a kind of "open letter". :-B PS There was also another time they kind-of "talked" in a similar way: fatslob asked about the images on t90's videos about him (my guess is through an e-mail or PM or something), but he didn't continue the exchange by replying to t90's answer.
First, Fatslob builds the wall, then he makes the other team pay for it.

- Take each treb separately and have it shoot at ground somewhere close (important to break their unison)
- multiselect your new tree cutting machinegun
- quickly click yourself a new hole though trees
"Yo dude do you wanna go out for a drink in 7 hours?" "Nah man I'm playing Fatslob" "Oh fuck cya tomorrow"
Thank you ! Fatslob was the reason i started watching you would love to see even more of him xD
Why not make trebuchets, and max range the walls.....
was just thinking the same thing
You can, but he'll expand the walls behind the existing ones.
@@DPortain at least its a secure way to make HIM waste his resources, instead of yourself. Also trebuchets can self-protect themselves if massed, creating a courtain of fire against enemy trebs. You can do it if you out-economy him.
Kheros Silverlight Sure. The guy's not unbeatable, he just tends to make his opponents overconfident.
Those who've watched Fatslob legends before would know such trebuchet tricks would end up in nothing but frustration...
What a tragedy.
fatigue and frustration is a powerful tool
kinda like ww1...
@DiscordChaos Agreed, I suppose fatslob isn't too excited about T90 making these videos
33:24 - Thanks for the reminder T90; I'm watching this in the morning and forgot all about my coffee
I never look at narrated videos, but seeing one of my old time favorites i played way to much back in the day, just feels nostalgic, keep it up dude, u make me wanne play it again
are we just going to ignore the actually pretty good micro red is doing with the onagar at 25:53 ? he actually got a couple good kills right there
Fatslob you remind my child time playing style, its so fun to watch you man !!!🙋♂️🙋♂️🙋♂️
Someone should play fatslob just like fatslob would (10 layers of walls and wait for him to come) .... It would be the most exciting game ever 11
How do you think these 5 hour long games go, which t90 refuses to cast? :D
on forest nothing
@@Coondawgwoopwoop On slow speed and no lumbercamp mod
Are wonder victories enabled? Youd have to force him to go on the offensive
We need to protect and preserve Fatslob!
P
Yikes
You could say t90 did us all a great service showing us how to beat this annoying strategy.
fatslob shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo
It's funny and all, but as soon as you know what Slob does you can do exactly what was shown at the beginning of the video, or do nothing but creep slowly forward with trebs until you are in his base (if you have 8 hours to spare). His strat only works against people who don't know what he is doing, don't have the time to finish an incredibly long game, or are too dumb to figure out how to counter it, and keep throwing units at the walls.
disagree.
peak performance would be no walls. all balls.
this is negative performance.
if you have time. you can beat fatslob at his own game.
🧠
Fatslob is a legend! I'm gonna have to play him. This is great. lol. I love these.
While watching this, I got an ad for a movie about trying to break out of an impossible escape room. The algorithm is getting smarter.
32:49 "That's more Gold down the shitter for red" LOLOLOLOLOL 1111111
This entire video is like watching horror movie characters going places they shouldn’t
When his opponent is now hurting for gold he deletes his wall and pushes forward. gg
The Legend of Fatslob introduced me to T90Official!!! Came for the Fatslob, stayed for the tower rushes.
14:00 Twelve layers of walls? No, my dude, that's a plug.
That was a game well played, a winning tactic.
Fatslob takes kiting from micro to the macro level. The true kiting master.
Just a Viking Guy building the Danewerk and depriving your gold xD
Almost 100k Subs!!! Congratulations man keep it up
That stutter at the end of the video, I think you should recast the whole game. This is unacceptable, terrible quality content. I am angry and rate this video 4 stars.
5/7
remembering the gold old youtube time when you were able to rate stars?
like 5 if you liked it and 0 if you were a troll
Mauer01 or when comments showed a like/dislike bar? Old RUclips was so much better.
@@HekateMGO There is still a like/dislike bar though.
Found your channel a few days ago. You will never see this because this vid is so old but I am really enjoying your commentating dude, and I never even played any AoE games lol. You just make it very entertaining :D
Man, i'm watching this and you're almost at 200k!
I'm a late-re-starter to AOE2 and you are making me wanna play MOAR.
PS. Fatslob is a legend
The snow looks so good in this game it's a shame I never get to see it in these videos. :(
I have to like and comment just for T90's incredibly wholesome thank you to youtube viewers.
Fatslob is an inspiration. Last week I played as Vikings against Hard AI on Black Forest and it was hilarious! Today I will take on Hardest AI with Turks. BBC's and BBT's are insane with Artillery
I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times. ...

We love you T90! Greetings from Colombia
At 17 minutes: *skips to 41*
"Hopefully people don't skip the video"
Uncommon opinion but I don't like players like Fatslob where the moment someone counters your "strat" you resign. It doesn't mean that the game cant last a long time but it makes him a one trick type of guy and playing against people like him ain't fun for me.
Feel free to disagree.
I disagree then
keep up the good work T90, we appreciate you as much as you appreciate us!
Congrats on all the success T90! Road to 100k!
Long live Fatslob, Wise king of the forest.
I think the two minute trash talking started when fatslob was using all his vills to wall him up in the beggining of the game
I'm a simple man. I see "The Legend Of Fatslob", I click the video.
T90 you make really entertaining contents! Definitely will have to catch you streaming one day! Keep it up!
Its funny how many times t90 says 'fat slob' and normally I'd think of that as such an insulting name but here I'm just like...'yes, fat slob'...😂
That k/d ratio is legendary
Both I, and a friend (independently of one another) got into watching T90 because of Fatslob... there are seemingly a lot of us. It is funny to think what you might owe to some wing-nut Swede. Meanwhile, said wing-nut just keeps winging.
(Preface:I am not a conservative, but I like the joke too much) If we had elected Fatslob, we would have not just 1, but 13 walls.
i havent played fatslob, but if i do, i think i would appreciate his tactics, because i am a little bit a fatslob myself :D
Isn't everyone a little bit a fatslob?
We are all fat slobs on this day.
I'm a trolly, stalematey, salt-milking (kinda fatty slobby) MFer. I can respect it.
Having a strategy so rigid that you'll never change it can lead to some intense shit.
holy shit o_o
I really want to see now him
This was really entertaining, good channel man!
CAST THE 5 HOUR GAME T90, COME ON WE ALL WANT IT AND YOU KNOW IT!
SocratesAth but i guess that’s why you just don’t play black forest. Play arabia, where skill is rewarded.
Fatslob:"I'll play for 2hrs....so long as I win"
I feel like mass trebs and elite berserkers would be the best when he walls, also baiting him with occasional rams to bring his siege into range of the trebs.
The first 3 minutes really shows you the kind of person Fatslob really is. Never plays out games. Don't just let him do whatever he wants to do and he just leaves. no GG or anything. Unless you play him and let him play exactly how he wants to and basically let him win he quits.
I scrolled through my subscriptions, saw this, and just said "oh no" out loud.
Never played him but glad to see him!
That economy difference was so deceiving in the postgame analysis. Red threw away so many wood and gold units into the walls which meant he just had no steam once he DID finally breakthrough.
As eccentric as Fatslob is, I choose to believe he does in fact drink his hot coffee from a drinking glass.
Fatslob is like the Zezima of AoE2. Gets a lot of criticism for how he plays the game, has a lot of fans or people that talk to him, but never really chats back, etc. The guy is a real interesting player.
40% increase in subs within 9 months after 4-5 years... happy for you T90 :)
You need trebs near max range to just slowly cut through his walls outside of his countertreb range.
Especially if they outclass you with pure physical prowess.
he's a really old player. Over 50 if im not wrong (someone mentioned that before). He got a LOT of time on is hands
@Thomas rus but I bet you didn't do it 4000 times to the same video right? :D :D
Did I ever tell you the definition...
...of insanity?
i dont even play aoe, i just like to watch these casts
Fatslob is love, fatslob is life.
I can apreciate fatslob simply because he is smart enough to beat better players by his own smart plays.
Go early imp, siege ram plus a couple trebs to micro down onagers. Maybe add your own tower to stop any extra vils from walling.
needs more trebs
Fatslob!!!! Wooooo!!!
Fatslob is like King Leonitas
AMAZING LEARN!
PS There was also another time they kind-of "talked" in a similar way: fatslob asked about the images on t90's videos about him (my guess is through an e-mail or PM or something), but he didn't continue the exchange by replying to t90's answer.
@@irrelevant_noob that last one was after he recorded this and the next one IIRC
