  • The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. We sell parts and simple to follow wiring instructions for the 1uzfe engines. For enquiries email info@thecartunecompany.co.nz Take Care. Kelvin

    Gotta love a V8 van. They should come like this from the factory.

      A v8 van is part of the reason I'm here. Toyota did do a few v8 hiace as an ambulance. I have a customer with one.

    So much more room to work with than the Delica. Being able to get at the rear of the engine in-situ is so good :-o

    • @CartuneNZ

      Definately more room at the rear with the access plate. Hiace seem tight but after doing a few they aren't that bad , and have good access underneith. Cheers

    I got my uzed into the car and everything hooked up only to find I didn’t drop the torque converter in and Twist properly on to tranny, and now it moves but won’t go faster then 10mph. Good thing is it’s only a $450 mistake as the junkyards have Em around. I Wanted to punch my self in the nads for that one.

    The Hiace engine bay looks bigger than I had thought. Would it be possible to fit a 1UZ with a turbo or supercharger in there or would that make things tighter than they should be?

    Nice job you're doing.
    1. Does LS400 have manual transmission? If no, what manual transmission system did you use, and from what vehicle pls?
    2. What pressure plates, etc are you using and from what vehicle?
    Thanks.

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 года назад

      No factory manuals available for any 1uz powered cars. When I do a hiace swap I avoid the small G55 hiace gearbox and instead use the R350 out of a suitable model hiace, in this case the same shape has this hiace, using the flywheel and clutch setup which I stock and sell myself. Its a specific 1uz manual swap pressure plate.

    • @CartuneNZ
      @CartuneNZ  3 года назад +1

      They are headers of my own design. They can be made to fit the LS400 by starting with our unwelded set like we did on this van and then tweaking to suit the LS. One pipe needs changing around the steering and on they go.
