Wipeout and Wipeout 2097 were some of the earliest gaming memories I have. Both great with 2097 in particular having an absolutely brilliant soundtrack.
To those put off by Volgarr II's difficulty, I did notice something on the eshop listing : "Volgarr II offers modern quality-of-life options such as checkpoints, save states, and an undead mode. You decide how punishing your quest should be - but now anyone can be a viking!" So you may still want to give this one a shot! :)
I've been planning to day 1 Cat Quest 3 for a while. I'd be interested in Volgarr... if I'd finished the first out of my backlog. Same with SteamWorld Heist... I... have memories of WipeOut. I didn't get the platinum. :P It weighs on me. (Mostly because I don't like how air-boosting worked in that game. I've never been good at wagging a joystick right-left-right.) I play a lot of metroidvanias - but I'm definitely going to wait on reviews for that one. I played Deathbound at PaxEast, and thought the system was interesting - though the environments and level design was drab. A bit jank. Sort of Thymesia for the vibes. (Or Immortal: Unchained)
Aero gpx looks awesome. Loved Wipeout (and killer loop) back in the day. Also, cat quest 3 looks like a good continuation on the first two. I'm sure my son will love it.
I don’t know anything about the Steam World Heist games, but something about that song at the end reminded me of the musical group Steam Powered Giraffe… and given the name, if they’re not involved with the game in some way, they really should be 😂
