@@euclidYT unfortunately they will never be up to the same quality of a AAA game. but i would also rather play a good game for a few bucks, rather than a 70 buck game i can barely run, that will try to send a hitman to my home to steal my wallet.
I don’t comment often, but seriously this is how a first dev log should be done, bros you got it all: nice editing, a lot of things to show already, clear plans for the future, playtesters,…
bro forget about how incredible this game looks, or how sick the animations look, the way you solve issues is sooo amazing, like the lag fix, the enemy shooting you only if you are standing still, so so so smart and amazing. keep doing what you are doing. 10/10 problem solving skills
honestly, I'm getting this as soon as you guys are ready to release. the game looks smooth, the pixel shader contrasts really well with the cyberpunk setting. The combat system is really fluid and satisfying, and the aesthetic reminds me a lot of Katana Zero (as well as the bullet time scenes). Great job so far
As a fellow indie dev this Devlog is inspiring to see, and this game looks like it will be super fun to play on release. You're team really has something here and I can't wait to see more. :)
Hey amazing job! By judging your thumbnail, I wasn't expecting this Maybe show the protagonist doing some tricks in the thumbnail? I don't know I think it's important the thumbnail catches the vibe of the game / shows something important in the game. Here, your protagonist is just crouching and shooting at someone. Maybe spice it up by showing him doing insane tricks while killing the other dude :) Anyway, again: amazing job! I'll follow your project :)
Its crazy how this looks so good. If you were to ask someone when this was made, they might think it is from the early 2000's. And just out of curiosity, are you thinking of a story for the game?
@@retrolightgames I love the idea of the game. I feel like the game is a bit too pixelated. It looks very pixelated on my phone screen, I can't imagine how large the pixel will look on a 27inch monitor or a 55 inch TV. The games lighting is very cool though
If I were to add anything I might add just some small indicators above the enemy heads or something like that since it's hard not to have shite aim while flipping through the air
This deserves to get alot of attention, must take hours of coding, thinking and designing to accomplish this and plus, you already know the speedruns are gonna be crazy.
Wow! This is a total must buy for me. I am tired of overly complex graphics of modern game and always want a game like this. Thank you keep up the good work!
I too am into Unreal Engine development and that sound of Unreal Engine success compilation on the scoring effects in your game - triggers me all the time :D
I really love the look you're trying to achieve and the idea behind it. The mechanics are really unique and original as well. It's fast paced and rewarding as well. It's really well thought out and I would like to see where this goes. I know it's going to be very popular.
I am so glad this was recommended to me. This looks amazing. Love the art style, love the gameplay loop of doing awesome tricks to get higher scores. Movement looks fluid as well which is great. Hopefully it supports Ultrawide, if not guess ill play it on my 16:9 monitor which is fine. It looks so damn good man. These are the games that you can play for wayyyyy longer than you would expect. Gl man
This is the first time I am actually impressed by a devlog usally its not like that deep like low polly kinda or some lack luster stuff kind of low effort , I was massively impressed and i have to say the art style is a hit DW it was what caught my eye the most it looks really nice
the sound of the compiler of unreal is driving me insane lol Looks great, keep up the great work. Mind you, there was no lighting in older games (ps1 era) they just displayed base color and colored in shaders into the texture. There's a lot about z buffer and tons of other topics. Good Luck!
this is so cool,i love the style and the movement, hear me out, wall runing and yall should make a move where this guy just break dance and shot everybody 360 that would be insane
Cyberpunk retro Cad Bane goes around Max Payning people to oblivion ... yep, this game is solid. Good luck on continuing, but what you've shown so far looks great
this looks like it will be so fun! i really liked your original bald character design i think it be cool if you could unlock it by typing in a cheat code in the main menu like retro games back in the day
That only up rip is funny, cause when it was blowing up on twitch I immediately noticed it was ALS with some props scattered around. Also game is looking fun and unique, great devlog!
Super sweet project, the style is right up my alley too, keep it up! Some of the 'add point' sounds reminds me of fail/complete build sounds from UE though, instant PTSD
Looks like a nice project! It reminds me of Double Action Boogaloo, which is a multiplayer shooter from abt 10 years ago that has the same points system. You get points for killing whilst looking cool. 😎
Smart on the spawn boxes as this is something done in older games. But there's also this really cool thing called object culling that makes it so anything not seen by the camera doesn't get rendered and therefor doesn't affect performance. Also, I actually didn't mind the way the old version looked, but the new version is an upgrade no doubt! Awesome work! Looks fun as hell!!!
"but it also runs the risk of looking like old crappy graphics" LOL i laughed so hard at that part haha, as someone the same age i understand completely...we have a strong nostalgia for the visuals we grew up with, but more often then not, the indies that attempt the low poly look typically look like old crappy graphics.. it's kinda like with pixel art, there were so many devs who just aimed at snes like graphics but they always were passed on and at the end of the day weren't really that special, but it's the ones that learned to incorporate it with modern day tech, that make it shine. like look at square enix, they are the KING of remaking games at the moment, no company has more remake styles than them. if you look at their HD-2D style, it was a beautiful way of solving pixel art to make it pop and feel modern without making it adhere the limitations of the past, they did it again with the new star ocean 2nd story r, they incorporated 2d characters with 3d landscapes and its absolutely BEAUTIFUL, as long as you can make the low poly, compliment modern techniques well, youve got it. and seeing what you've been doing with the lighting, tells me you're almost there! keep it up bro this looks legit!

@@retrolightgameshow do I get this game
Haha I lost it at “I’m moving this barrel.” That’s probably the best perk of being the person who made the game 😂😂😂
lmao
It's nice to see someone else making a 3rd person movement shooter! Definitely a slept on genre
How does not have millions of views? I love this idea! This looks so cool, please continue man

he should just write "I'm making the Matrix as a video game"
This couldn’t have came at a more perfect time. I was craving for a 3d shooter with insane movement and this is filling that category 👍
Cheers man. thank you!
You know what would KoolAid? Add two guns to the character and turn the skin into Deadpool.
Absolutely amazing, definitely deserves a sub.
