I just paid off my student loans!!! ONE STEP CLOSER BABYYYYY
YASSSS! I’m so close to paying off mine too, only like 2 more years I think 😅😅
Loved habit 1. Wish In school we were taught these life skills
So many life skills I wish we learned in high school and college! It's insane that they aren't taught - taxes, raising kids, money management, etc. Home ec was optional at my school.
You’re videos are so inspiring 🫶🏼
Yes to rewire my mindset 🙌🏼
Yay! So glad to hear that. I agree thats one of the hardest but arguably most important things!
Thank you for always providing so much value in your videos, Jess! The hardest one for me is habit #1. Trying so hard to rewire my beliefs! I've loved following your YT journey. I was laid off last year as well so your videos have really helped me out and even inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and make my first video (nerve racking). Looking forward to more of your videos!
I totally agree! rewiring beliefs is such a challenge but so important. Thanks for following along my journey, I'm so glad it has helped inspire you! I just watched your getting laid off video and thought it was really good! keep up the good work, keep going!
I retired in March at 56. I have 2 income streams still coming in. I took a 5 day trip in April and I have another trip coming up in July. Retiring early and be able to travel is a huge privilege, I know. I'm grateful that I set myself up for success.🎉
Amazing!! This is absolutely my goal in life! Congrats! 👏🏼
So - when it comes to learning - I find that with varying books and videos there is SO much information and often tend to contradict each other so I become really overwhelmed and not sure which parts are ones that are legit and known to work vs someone sharing something as a cash grab.
That’s fair! I have found with books at least, to take people’s advice with context, like this is their experience, their recommendations, etc. I can take bits and pieces or give their advice a shot and see where it goes. The more books I’ve read, I have started to find reoccurring themes in some and obscure ideas in the others. So like anything i think it’s just about educating yourself so you can make the most informed decision
I definitely need to be better about living beyond our means especially with our baby girl coming. Its just so easy these days to see some ad on instagram or some sale for a product on amazon that we really dont need and give into the temptation lol.
haha yes that social media marketing works, doesnt it!
I do love these types of videos. We did not learn how to build wealth and now that I am in my late 30s feel like I am so far behind that I will never be able to live the lifestyle I would love to have (travel) but instead will need to work overtime just build money for retirement…without even knowing if I’ll make it there 😂
I think what is hard for those of us not well versed is how to feel like we are building anything when starting at $0 and also the numbers projected…Will that be enough 20-30 years in the future with seeing how expensive things are.
Many people are just trying to keep a roof over their heads, so what are ways people not making large salaries each year can start making progress.
I would love to get out of the mind set of “I’ll never be able to own a house, I’ll never be able to travel comfortably etc” because everything is just so expensive.
It is a really tough mindset to break, but i think that's definitely where it starts. I know it always feels too late to start, but I think there's no time like the present to get started investing, saving, or working on side hustles. You got this!
@@jessssalemme I do hope to continue to learn. I’ve really appreciated the videos you make on this topic.
Thank you for your information
Sure! Thanks for watching! ❤
This was suuuuper helpful! I just downloaded the survey app.
Good! Thanks for watching!
Hi Jess 🙂
Possibly not the time to invest in the UK stock market with a change of government looking likely. Higher taxes including a windfall tax isn't good news for the biggest companies. Of course, over the longer term, the stock market is the way to go.
I don't normally order takeaway but I do like a McDonald's 🍔🍟🥤 occasionally. I think that most of us should employ you as our financial advisor 👍.
That is fair! I do think the stock market is very much a long term goal
Jess this video is very very important for me and thank you for the video and I am so so so glad to see you back again 💗😀😀
Glad you enjoyed☺️
Great videos 🤍
Thanks! ☺️
Maybe dumb question but in excel when you multiplied by 10% shouldn’t it be 0.10 instead of 1.10? Can someone explain the math? I’d appreciate it SO much!! Thank you
Yes!
multiplying by 10% would be the gains only, I do 1.1% to show it being added to the previous balance to show the ending balance. It would be like saying 10% of 100 is $10, but I want to show ending balance so 1.1% shows the ending balance of $110. Does that make sense? You could do it manually this is just a math shortcut! Hope that helps
Just curious, what are your thoughts on Dave Ramsey?
I’ve read one of his books - the total money makeover. While I think he has some good points to his methods, some ideas are definitely outdated (in my opinion)
@@jessssalemme I agree! ESPECIALLY with his views lately when it comes to the housing market. He literally put out a video a while back of, "You all need to stop whining about the housing market." He's gotten to the point of being out of touch.
oh I definitely agree!
Yup, he was super helpful to get into certain mindsets when we were first married, my husband in school, and we were making around $20K a year 😅 despite both of us working and I was 50-60 hours a week… but we still got all our bills paid, paid off a chunk of student loans, and didn’t accrue any debt.
Now, 10 years later, we take many different strategies and no longer subscribe to every Ramsey way. But it’s ok- I’m glad we had him when we were straight out of college and broke with no savings and minimal income 😅
Next time you should lower the music in the background... it's very disturbing
