People THINK they don’t like anchovies. Many who say that have never had them in a meal/hors d’oeuvre prep in fact have had them. They add such wonderful glutamates to pretty much anything. It’s not that you can detect anchovies, but that you can detect their absence. If you tell me you’ve added a few anchovies you’ve got me all excited. Such an underused food item. Collioure, Spain’s anchovy festival is a tribute to this God’s gift to mankind.
I just discovered this channel and I LOVE the style. It reminds me of the cooking shows my mother used to watch when I was a little kid. Great recipes as well!
Anchovie paste or anchovies are something you do not miss until their gone out of a recipe. They do bring something. These look delicious. Will be trying for sure. Great video Dennis!
The strong flavor of anchovies can easily overpower almost any dish, but used sparingly it adds a little extra flavor that can be very good. I mostly add one or two fillets to a pot of marinara or when I make pasta e fagioli. A little Red Boat brand fish sauce is a good alternative in soups and sauces. -Dennis
just finished reading your sunday blog. I LOVE how your camper patch turned out - good for you!!!!! And congratulations on finding your watch and thus assuring your brain that all is well with it. I know that worried feeling well as i’m just a year younger than you. I so enjoy your blogs!!!!
Thanks Nancy. I felt really stricken for a while about that expensive watch because the one place I didn't look was the recycling box and it was already picked up. I feel really good about the little camper patch. It should look good on the aprons I use in my cooking videos. -Dennis And for those who wonder about the blog Nancy is referring to, it's here: www.white-trash-cooking.com/blog.html It's like a journal in which I write about the stuff going on in my life, good or bad, and it keeps my writing skills polished.

Oh no evil anchovies... the main flavoring ingredient in Worchestershire and many meals. Looks delicious. I can see enough in sun to type and autocucumber helps
Thanks Jake. Glad to know the eyesight is improving. I'm building a shirt today to test the new machine. Check out my blog to see my first attempt at embroidery: www.white-trash-cooking.com/blog.html
Lolol.....I love your humor. Can you use sardines instead? I'm new to these kinds of fishes. I have a few sardines on the shelf, because I've heard they are so good for you.
I keep sardines in the cupboard for the same reason. I like them on buttered toast. The flavor is milder than anchovies, but they might work well on the bruschetta. -Dennis

That’s an interesting recipe, I don’t really anchovies but I’m tempted to try this one, good to see you.

Looks great! I'm surprised you didn't add basil. I think it'd add a nice touch if you like it.
