Dennis! Holy cow, what a blast from the past! I saw that Gary Colson passed away the other day and it brought the memories of UCSB flooding back. I went down the rabbit hole of googling some of the folks from back in the day, and bam- there you were! Who’s have thought you’d turn into a celebrity? Incredible. Congrats on the success. Hope you’re well.
Looks AMAZING. My favorite restaurant closed several years ago, and I'm always trying to replicate their recipes (with no luck). Happy that you were able to remake this recipe.
just read your blog for today and really enjoyed your “speaking of speakers” line!!!!!! Anyone interested in what dennis was referring to, just go to his website. All his blogs are educational, pleasant, funny, well-written and in good taste. Never have i been offended, and i’ve been a faithful, old-lady fan of his blogs for years. Always makes me smile!!
Thanks Nancy. I always enjoy your comments, and I'm pleased you continue to enjoy my blog. Those interested, or maybe just curious, can find it here: www.white-trash-cooking.com/blog.html I have been updating my blog every Sunday and Wednesday for 13 years. I have fun with it. And it's a free site. No ads either.
hi, dennis! Just read today’s blog from your website and was delighted to see you REALLY thin tortillas - you could see through them! And i wasn’t surprised that you knew about Better than Boullion - most folks have never heard of it or tried it but YOU have!!!!!! I agree that it is not as good as home made, but it sure is better than…wait for it…boullion. Love that your Pumpkin Cookie recipe popped up when i went to your site - it’s really autumn here in new jersey and i want to make your cookies this week to send to my mother - i’ll tell her i used your recipe. Enjoy the rest of your week.
Thanks Nancy. Yeah, I really couldn't be happier about the success of those flour tortillas. It's such a relief to have a recipe that really works. I hope your mother enjoys the cookies. -Dennis
Looks delicious! It's so sad when good Mexican restaurants close their doors for good. We've had a few that are gone but the best one is still up and running!
I just ran across your channel. I really like that you give us the metric weights. I have everything to make this except the salsa and guac. I do have an avocado but I think I will run to the store tomorrow and pick up the few things I need and try this. OH and I'm in the same boat, I have too much stuff frozen that I have to thaw and eat! Ya got a new subscriber.
I think the most valuable thing I learned from this video is remembering that I MUST EAT FREEZER FOOD!!!! Always wonderful to see and hear you Dennis, and this recipe looks DELISH!!!
good morning, dennis!! Not to worry about that decimal point - it is right where i want it to be. I have benefited in so many ways from all your efforts on youtube and your blogs and your cataloged recipes and just wanted to wish you a pleasant merry christmas.🎄🎄 And whatever recipes, videos, blogs, etc. you might create in the future, i’ll be one of your fans!
Thank you again Nancy. You are very generous and I am in awe. Sunday's video will be Cream of Spinach Soup. It is among the most delicious soups I enjoyed. I'll be making more today. I hope you will enjoy the video. Happy holidays to you and yours. -Dennis
happy new year, dennis!!!!! Just finished reading your wednesday blog - i learn something new all the time when i read them. I didn’t know you play the keyboard - did you learn as an adult? Your dexterity is often highlighted in a video when you are repairing something - must also help with playing a keyboard. On a different subject, I’m looking forward to any and all of your commentary and insight during this political year ahead - i’ve enjoyed your views on the subject for years and this year will, no doubt, give us much to opine over. May this year ahead be pleasant for you and filled with health and maybe a cooking video or so!!
Thanks Nancy. I am very far from being a pianist, but I do enjoy making some music. As Maude said in Harold and Maude, "It's the cosmic dance." I tinker. That's about it. I'm hoping the Quest 3 will help me tinker better. I'm writing more about it in Sunday's blog. Thanks for the suggestion to do more political commentaries during 2024. As you said, there is likely to be plenty of material. I said to some friends, and now you, "May the First be with you." May way of saying Happy New Year. -Dennis
What a wonderful idea, to blend heavy cream into guacomole in order to create that smooth texture. So glad I found you! I just made mascarpone with you, and I am subscribed. I see you have many recipes, so I look forward to seeing your videos!
just finished reading your blog for today. Yes, i’m jealous over those lovely pots with the removable handles - such a clever feature!!!!!! And i was delighted to hear you will just HAVE to tailor a few new shirts - i hope you’ll debut the pink one on a video. I always say, “only real men are confident enough to wear a pink shirt”. In my travels it has always proven accurate. Best regards for the week ahead. nancy
Thanks Nancy. Those white ceramic saucepans are among the best gifts I every received. I'm thinking I might tailor the pink shirt next, after I buy some thread. And I might do a year-end summary on My Kitchen Vlog wearing the shirt.
1 medium to large boneless, skinless chicken thigh 3/4 tsp taco seasoning 1 TBSP Salsa Verde 71 g guacamole 2 oz. heavy whipping cream 1 oz taco mix cheese salt and pepper to taste
So nice 👍 👍 👍

Simple and easy, love this. Thanks for sharing Dennis!

Thanks. Two favorite Chinese restaurants closed in recent years and I've given up trying to replicate their recipes. - Dennis
Thanks for the great tip on the creamy guac.

Absolutely delicious 😋 thanks for sharing 👌 👍 😋
Great video Dennis! I enjoyed your walk down memory lane and I'm glad you finally figured out the guacamole secret 👍 The food looks delicious!
Thanks Mea. That recipe goes into the kitchen binder as a permanent keeper. -Dennis
I made this tonight and it was very good! It's a keeper for sure.
The look on your face tasting tells me you nailed it, and it brought back fond memories.
Thanks Jake. This is now one of the few foods I crave often. -Dennis
Thank you for sharing - will be trying this recipe
Looks delicious! It's so sad when good Mexican restaurants close their doors for good. We've had a few that are gone but the best one is still up and running!
Thanks. I'm not a big fan of Mexican foods - too spicy - but I really enjoy these flautas. I've made them several times. -Dennis
I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving with people you enjoy being with.
Thank you. Happy holidays to you too!

Yes, eating freezer food is probably the most important lesson in life. Thanks for the comment, Scott. -Denis

I would really love to see the inside of your camper. Will you give me a tour?
Thanks. It's just an average double-wide mobile home - kitchen, dining area, living room and two bedrooms. -Dennis

I just ate lunch and I'm craving one of these now haha
Thanks Andrew. I crave these a lot - not only for the flavor but for the memories of eating in IV too. - Dennis
Nice! 😋👍
1 medium to large boneless, skinless chicken thigh
3/4 tsp taco seasoning
1 TBSP Salsa Verde
71 g guacamole
2 oz. heavy whipping cream
1 oz taco mix cheese
salt and pepper to taste
We used to eat the green burritos also. Do you have that recipe?
Sorry, I don't. We only ate the flautas there.
Thanks Dennis!
You are welcome!
We used to eat @ Serranitos also
Looks yummy. If I made it, I would probably shred the chicken...that's how I like it.
