- hello everyone, in this video i will take a look at a somewhat obscure Portal 2 mod that was used as a recruitment tool back in 2013-14. it is called Wibi!data.

i remember this mod back in 2013, but i didnt know it was a recruitment for a company lol
I like the idea of the CEO of Wibi just really liking Portal 2 when it came out and wanting to use his company to make a cool Portal 2 mod. This just screams "i want to make my own portal mod with my bags of money".
This is crazy. I played this way back in the day but didn't finish it. Never knew it was a recruitment tool.
I remember watching a old video speedrunning this mod (i think it was in a Turmoil video, not sure), i genuinely can't believe i didn't dream about it.
this map was just in my head for years now and im so happy to finally realize that its a real thing that wasn't just something i dreamt up

Why would they make the AI mean? I know theyre trying to replicate GLADoS but this is also "The AI of their company" which just makes them look like assholes. Wild.

Interesting mod but for the nature of it the AI voice lines are a bit too passive-aggressive
Nah they aren't, they are meant to be just like the original GLaDOS
As a hiring tool, they should have made the AI less of an asshole.

@@Simi1024 I have in fact played Portal. I preordered Portal 2 and played it on launch. I BEAT it not long after. And I am very familiar with GLaDOS as a character. She’s a great character, well-written with a great vocal performance.
But this mod was made AS A RECRUITMENT TOOL. If you want your company to be successful, you can’t call your potential employees nasty things.

Getting into topic of video, it seems like a interesting and strange idea at the same time because you are testing someone's brain and inteligence capablities presenting the test at the same time in fun and nice visual form. Overall i never seen that combination of visually looking nice test with exercises to test someone's brain to eventually assign that person into programming very important stuff etc. and that makes for me very interesting topic and idea.
Edit: I didn't pay attention at the fact that the well-known Source Engine helper has been assigned to do this mod.
was kinda busy irl, so that pushed back this video back abit, i wanted to release it in like early to mid February but some things came in between
yea it certinatly is interesting, would be cool if this concept was ever expanded into a full on standalone, longer, more challenging game in the future
