Someone once proposed the theory that Little Inferno can be an analog for one’s time spending on games, primarily through Sugar Plumps and how she’s a friend with the same “toy” as you, lamenting her own loneliness, before leaving abruptly, horrifyingly…and then coming back, alive. Once you follow Sugar Plums, giving up your distraction like she did, you learn that she’s older, that it’s supposedly been “years.” One has to wonder, at that point, if that was the message, what else contributes to that? Would each product we buy represent a purchase of a game? Coins spent and acquired being time, instead of money? And despite all of the smokestacks burning whatever we find before moving onto the next, the world grows ever colder… This was made long and far before the Pandemic of 2020. It couldn’t be a plague, if we’re talking a large city at least. But with that emphasis on everything freezing over…would that represent a lack of action, instead of literal cell explosions (freezing)? Or perhaps something more, a reason to give us for purchasing, installing, and consuming our very own Little Inferno’s. When this game mentions the world growing colder, and its whole may represent something else, maybe it’s either the people or our reality that grows colder, despite the sun.
I think you hit it exactly on, the Devs had a lot to say and they managed to fit it into such a small package. Sugar Plumps saying it had been years in her letter is what really drove the time passing regardless message home for me while playing. Thanks for watching the video and giving such in-depth analysis, you're great!
What I find really interesting is that, it is snowing because of the fireplaces When a volcano erupts, it emits volcanic ash which can block out the sun causing a short term cooling effect So if everyone in existence used their little inferno to be warm by emitting smoke then we would have locked ourselves into snow
Yep, it's a runaway cooling. People use fireplaces because it's cold which makes it colder leading to more fireplaces and more cooling. It's pretty sad.
Theory: after the events of World of Goo, all the smog you blasted into the sky caused the sun’s heat to be unable to reach the ground, freezing the earth. Furthermore, if the world WAS freezing over it should stop snowing after a while since there’s no more water being evaporated to produce clouds, and then snow. So either 1. The world ISNT freezing over and it will warm up, as this is an isolated weather event. Or 2. It’s raining frozen, toxic ash and the entire planet’s water, soil, air, etc. is screwed because you blew up WoG corporation. Also another thing, 8-Bit Nate looks like your boss in HRM and 7 billion humans, he even says “I’ve got an exiting career in middle management”
You’re correct about Nate being Boss Man, but the “WoGCORP caused the little inferno snow” theory has been disproved by the new World of Goo 2 as it reveals that WoG and Earth are 100000 light years away from each other, so it wouldn’t make sense for an explosion on wog to affect earth’s climate. In an earlier version of Little Inferno, they planned to reveal Tomorrow Corporation was creating artificial snow but not sure if that’s still canon to regular little inferno.
I remember back when I was a little kid, watch Ming jackseptic eye roll through the game. Still remember the characters voices he had for them. Still tear up at the end “over the smoke stacks, over the city, the weather man”. This game was my childhood.
The sad part is that this was no prophecy... we all knew what would eventually happen but did nothing to stop it. I played this game when I was around 6-7 y.o and I still faintly remember the attempt to inform people about climate change that's slowly starting to get reversed due to misinformation. 😔
Here is a fun fact about the combos. They are listed in chronological order of how soon you could get them. And ties where they share a latest avalable item are broken by the other item's obtainability. This is best seen by how the DLC combos are spread throughout the other combos. Tripple Error is the exception, but it's more of a story thing, so it half counts as a combo.
Oh yeah thats interesting. I didn't worry about figuring out combos until I had gone through everything for the most part so that explains why I didn't notice!

You should play World of Goo next !
Its on my todo list, would be nice if it went on sale lol
Man. I miss real-time narrated gameplays. Nowadays there's like a 80% chance of a video being narrated post-recording gameplay
I actually agree with you. It's unfortunately just the youtube meta at the moment. There are still people doing the let's play style but the content just doesn't get served on RUclips as much anymore sadly
crazy
Hey, can you try Library of Ruina next time?
Wow this game looks super cool! I haven't seen this before, I've added it to my list! Thanks for the suggestion
@@Pehnk make sure to play, or at least check the story of lobotomy corporation, for which library of ruina is a sequel to
a fair note though, both of these games take a lot of time to finish and get pretty difficult at times
@@absentchronicler9063 Yeah some of the achievements in library of ruina looked pretty challenging, and I wouldn't have known it was a sequel. Thanks for the heads up!
IS THAT THE BLACK SILENCE
I watched jack play this
Now do world of goo
Its on the eventual todo list!
