16:40 It's actually just a common construction joke. Though you may know it as a bubble level instead of a spirit level. You were basically sent to fetch the bubbles that would be in the level (ie, not a real thing you can grab, like a can of blinker fluid). So the joke is you actually ARE able to find bubbles for the level.
Other examples of useless tasks for items which dont exist which they often send unsuspecting apprentices on as a joke are being sent for "a long weight" or "a long stand"; holes for the hole punches; catch the sparks from a saw to be reused; or get a tin of tartan paint
The punchline is that our character isn't the butt of the joke: I think Flo is! They clearly led her to believe that they were setting up the player character, but her reaction on seeing the bubbles implies she wasn't expecting them to actually be there.
@@Pehnki think you missed the brick guy all the way to the left. Hes the older guy struggling to lift the metal shutter. You can help him move it up by hitting the metal shutter. Later on you have to hit the brick wall to change the scene. After that you will see a guy who looks homeless in the hole in the brick wall trying to heat up some beans. You have to hit the beans. You'll get an achievement for this.
@@theghostoftheuchiha1999 Hey, yeah I did that at the end of the video actually. I always try to play through the first time without looking at a guide or anything so I just missed it the first time and then I played through again after to clean up that achievement. Thanks for the tip though!
The guy whose chimney you go down is named Rod, and he's Megg's husband. Megg says he called her distressed that a little man keeps coming down thier chimney, nice detail
@@Pehnk Apparently when you do the sick guy confined to the bed quest to make the soup for the ending you can knock on the doors in the hallway. Apparently someone can let you in.
9:20 i dont think anyones quite caught onto it, but this is actually a joke about processed meats. The talking.. meat faces (ew) are different animals talking about their death (or something along that line, at least) So while it looks like a ham that hes cutting, we can interpret though the freaky scene that its actually just an amalgamation of different processed meats put together, which is fairly common everywhere (also explains why ron might not use his stuff regularly- its cheaper in qaulity lol)
16:42 basically you were sent on a quest to achieve the construction equivalent of headlight fluid, the joke is in the irony of actually finding the bubbles
3:54 I haven't see enough people talk about this. Ronnie says, when he wakes up, that he has a drink, takes a big wee, and THEN GETS OUT OF BED! His mattress must be stained yellow and smell awful if he does that everyday
So that live action footage is not stock footage, its Test Footage from an early hand crank camera that was *stable* enough to operate on a moving vehicle, which means the footage was prolly in black and white originally. Thanks to advancing video editing tools and techniques, old hand crank footage can be colorized and have their speed stablized, making them look as good as color VHS recordings! Wild, eh?
I feel so bad for ron 😭 hes just trying to clean up the mess (also dose anyone understands the joke of the kid collin hes the one thats says "Sorry my mom has gotten me back on the mercury or bismuth)
Well apparently at one point not only was mercury used in products before we knew it was posioness i guess people took it. Kinda like asbestos but i dont understand the bismuth cause that seems even more out there than the mercury.
@@lilacsanctuary3323 The joke about the bismuth IS that it's even more out there than mercury. That, or it's because it's an ingredient in pepto-bismol.

I actually played the Dev's other game, The Good Time Garden to completion twice some years ago! very good little weird game, very raunchy though, I recommend it to any person (18+) looking for a weird and kinda gross game with humor like Thank Goodness You're Here!
I think you can see the guy who gives you sausages through a hole (don’t think other things) outside the big pies stores sitting in a bench but I’m not pretty sure
I keep being surprised that no one remembers Good Time Garden, their other project. It’s WILD, incredibly… horrifying is a good word. Lots of sexual… stuff? Tons of body horror. All wrapped up in their super cute style of animation.
This game is so disturbing to me, especially the bit at the very end 😅 I’ve been thinking of a game you could play, and I think either Tales of Monkey Island, or Sly Cooper: thieves in time would be fun for achievements! :3

...That makes a lot of sense. I read spirits as like alcohol and was thinking like champagne bubbles but that makes WAY more sense.

The last sequence is most likely a reference to Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, since it follows the editing style that's present in all of it's episodes.
Oh thats very interesting. I wouldn't have gotten that reference at all. Thanks for the comment!
it honestly gave me dhmis vibes when I first saw it
im not sure its a reference but it definitely feels very dhmis
