    I over seeded my gross awful lawn last fall with annual ryegrass. It looks so amazing all winter, here in Atlanta area in Early march. Can I just put out a tall fescue grass now to start dealing with my lawn. And then over seed again with an annual ryegrass in the fall?

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  10 месяцев назад

      In the south ryegrass is temporary and in the next few weeks you will grow to hate annual ryegrass because of the growth habit it’s going to take on. Make an attempt to seed with fescue now …. By the end of the summer it won’t look so great and then seed with fescue again in the fall . Fescue and annual ryegrass will not mix together the color of the fescue is way darker also the ryegrass will start to poison its competition when it’s stressed so mixed lawn will look terrible

      Paul's Prime Cuts that’s 4oz/acre. Hmm...so I would still have bleaching. Thanks!

      PutEmInTheBox I have had bleaching with residue in the tank .... and no bleaching at over 5oz per acre so it’s a toss up🤷‍♂️

      Did you not lower the height of cut/scalp before you over seeded ? Are you just using the meso as a pre emergent or do you have an existing weed problem ?

    How many pounds per k on a normal over seed with the triple threat PLUS. Thanks!

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад

      Same as any other fescue if you are seeding into a pretty fair existing stand it could be as low as 3 to 6 pounds on bare dirt I go up to 6 to 10 lbs per k

      I can tell you tons research goes in the development of the genetics
      Of the varieties used in triple threat plus it’s as good as I have seen for southern lawns

    My 50 lbs. bag of Triple Threat was delivered. I’m going to core aerate before reseeding. Do you recommend I rake up the plugs before reseeding?

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад +1

      karlhungous it’s not necessary but you can . It will keep that dirt from going back into the holes as they break down

    • @karlhungous
      @karlhungous 4 года назад

      Paul's Prime Cuts thank you for responding. My yard is small so I will rake them up. I just watched your aeration/reseeding video. You mentioned a less than 6 lbs. per 1000 square feet ratio if the lawn is healthy. What do you recommend if the lawn is essentially dirt? Is there a type of fertilizer you recommend to use in my aerating/reseeding process. Thank you!

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад

      karlhungous 10lbs of seed on dirt

    • @PaulsPrimeCuts
      @PaulsPrimeCuts  4 года назад

      karlhungous a starter fertilizer like xstart... something where the middle number is over 20 generally

      As you know I put some head to head with some MVS top verities they both do well ... the triple threat plus had slightly better color and a small edge in disease resistance ... I like the local backing the ability to see and know the pure seed verities were developed and selected in my area
