Thanks man! I'm about to do this myself on my 2000 Tacoma. My seals were torn up so I thought I would try a cheapie ($72/pair!) from Rock Auto that looked like a good match on the profile - same extra lip and everything. One thing I noticed, before even starting, was that the original seals already had some buffer type internal material along the front/upper portion, and I thought I would just extract that and re-use. Did you not encounter that piece? Also, assuming the weatherstripping I got was correct, why not do the same, since you are completely taking out the existing weatherstrip anyway and pushing all that hose through seemed like a good chunk of work that might make the seal tear along the way. BTW your seals were comparatively in good shape! My tacoma had 140k miles on it, all garaged, and the seals really were shredding everywhere - both doors. Factory replacements were $170 apiece, so yea quite expensive! Enough to give the cheapies a go...
I did encounter that piece I extracted and pulled the new one through my truck has 164k and they are original. The trick worked great and is still holding strong
