No loud subscribe-to-me messages. Just got right to it. Easy to follow. Nice instruction to let the glue dry for a minute or two before pressing the weatherstripping in place.
i went to your web site, i am looking for some weather stripping for my 97, ford, areostar doors. apparently "they" do not make it any more. can you help?
thank you for the video...I have an idea for anybody that just watched this. if you can afford it buy the weatherstrip from the dealer. then you clean all the old glue off. then you do what he did with a. brand new weatherstrip. your car door will thank you. if its just a quick fix this will hold up but not as long and won't bring that nice thump a new one would bring.
@@DAnderson410 I like the comment. However, it’s incorrect for several reasons. First , I have been creating RUclips videos for a long time. Secondly I’m not teaching you how to make a RUclips video. Thanks, I will give it a try. My door seal fell off of my 2020 Tesla. It's under extended warranty but my appointment is 6 weeks out. I think I must have gotten the HMO coverage. Tesla sucks.
What glue did u use please ?? Just purchased the front Holden Cruze shields but they come with nuts an bolts an being a woman I don't own a drill etc so thought maybe I could stick em on like my previous car had them attached ?!
Can any suggest the best product to glue back a small rip in the rubber seal of the door??? It's the thin rubber seal that surrounds the outer door trim.
I'm about to use this adhesive for my Honda Civic. Just to confirm, once you apply, wait 60-90 seconds to dry then bond the rubber strip to the body? Thanks!
When I bought a minivan most of the lower liftgate weather striping was all torn off or missing. Do you if that will cause rattles going over bumps and pot holes? Great video 👍
if you get it on your hands.. will it stick and make bodyparts joined together ? ( would be nasty if you need to drive that old car to the hospital with your elbow or foot attached to your nose or maybe a Chihuahua )
will this adhesive glue a weatherstrip to plastic trim? i have a chevy express van and there is a roof drip weatherstrip that sticks to that top plastic halo trim above the rear doors
Hey Peter von Panda! I bought the same 3M weather stripping glue but it is wrong for my project. What I need is something that will keep the plastic in-place against the inner door that covers the door components. To be clear, Im referring to the plastic that you find when you remove the door panel sometimes called the "door card"...the plastic covers the actual metal door panel...between the "door card" and the door... hope that helps. the 3M hardens, I need something that stays tacky without hardening so as to not have to reapply each time I remove the plastic. thanks
Was this Maserati not garaged? It has all these small issues (e.g. oxidized headlights, peeling rubber weatherstrips, etc.) that are typical of the cars that are not garaged.
Lets see, Why show the "Plastic Knife" if you weren't going to use it ? It was suppose to be used to spread the glue flat so it would dry and bond better. Oh, well there's always a "Video" of how not to do it.
@@David-kk4dr - Yes If you can but alot of the times it's stuck on one side that if you try to pull it off I'll rip the rubber with it, still a video on "how not to".

It helps to tape down the weatherstrip with painters tape so the weatherstrip stays in place. Cure time is 1 hour.

I was looking for this answer. Do you leave door open while it cures also?
Do you leave door open until glue dries and how long?
@@osita395 Yes, leave it open for about an hour which is the cure time.
Just what I need to find. I noticed my door seal starting to pull away just like this one. Quick and easy application--thanks for the video!!

That 3M is awesome until the day you want to remove and replace the weather stripping. "Sparingly" is an understatement.
Just curious, but is that from personal experience?
G2K
Just tape the areas vulnerable to sticking out so you know everything is under pressure and will stick evenly
The 3M clear exterior trim adhesive also works well, and thicker to stay on vertical surfaces, but larger nozzle. Peace
OK.....So the plastic knife serves....Absolutely No Purpose!
Got It!
Just in case you splooge too much
Awesome. Just did the rear passenger door seal on a 2006 Matrix. Following your advise, came out perfect. 🔧

Nice video, about to do this on my top front windshield adhesive on my Corolla 👍🏼
As a fellow Corolla owner, I hope it went well for you, and will for me also! x'D
Maybe to have used something like the old clothes pins used for hanging clothes outside . Or I expect they have miniature plastic clamps to use .
That looked quick and easy! 👍😊
Can I have the rest of your tube? :D Just kidding. Honda just informed me the glue and labor together is $200. Thanks for this video!
That's funny. Honda told me the exact same amount for my driver's side weatherstripping on my 2017 honda civic.
This is exactly the video i was looking for. Thank you :)
Finally, the video I was looking for! Thank you sir!!
Mine lasted about a year and now i'm back on looking at videos.
This was a big help.Thank you my panda brother!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the video. I bought it from your link.
Helpful this video what I want
Thank you so much,
Black rtv also works almost the same, and a little cheaper
rtv has nothing on this stuff,. t's essentially contact cement...once they are together you have to destroy it to separate the parts
Can any suggest the best product to glue back a small rip in the rubber seal of the door??? It's the thin rubber seal that surrounds the outer door trim.
Thanks for the video 👍
Is there any way to remove dried glue on the trim? Getting OCD from the excess adhesive that somehow dried up on the mold trim.
Can I use this on outside parked car in 50-60 degree weather or should I wait for warmer day ?
Thank you, I am going to order some.

Yep, that's what I did and seemed to work great. It was about 70 degrees, so if it's a really hot day, maybe wait less time.
Great video. Thank you!
Hi, Can this be used for Roof rubber seals ?
Trying to be smart: disposable flat piece of flat wear
Everyone else: plastic knife
If that's not just repackaged rubber cement glue, I don't know what is. Looks and acts the same!
taste the same too
nice. thanks. i have some work to do.
Is this the same fix for the rubber gutters above the car door?
Should work for that as well.
How many Ford Focus drivers watching this? =(
For those wondering, the 5 fl/oz bottle is massive lol. But at least I have extra.
Hello will contact cement work.? I loved the video

If definitely could cause rattles. See if someone sitting in back can locate the noise.
Will 2 part epoxy work; just as well?
Glue works too

I would think so
What if it's on the bottom side of the door and it has those stupid little plastic clips?
@brandon perault Did you find a fix for the clip issue? I watched a video that said there are holes on the rubber that the clips go in...
now I understand thanks
Would b better if you cleaned both surfaces 1st...also when about to press put a thin film on either side

Try looking for Butyl cord, black and round. Commonly used for "shower curtains" as we call them in motor vehicle production in the UK.
i used high temp bearing grease. seems to be working.
Ok
