- In this video we will be tackling building custom shelves as a beginner in woodworking. This is not a hard process but can become very overwhelming very fast. I'm going to break down every step along the way so you too can build shelves for any purpose you desire.

Thank you all so much for watching!
Hi Everyone, thank you all for watching this video. Let me know if it has helped/inspired you with your builds and also if you have any other things you want me to build.
Thanks again you legends!
Hey what's the measurements?
I really like your video good job
This is great!
Wow, you’re so clever at building that shelf mate
Thats an excellent job James well done.
I have to compliment your scientific measuring technique, using various iterations of Back to the Future! :)
Something seams so right about having Back to the Future in VHS
James nice job and well made , yeah that timber does pop and good looking shelves unit 👍🏻, oh and ears 👂 were designed by God just so man had a place to carry his pencil ✏️ plus he gave us 2 so we were balanced and don’t fall over 😂, good vid mate 👌🏻.

Do you have a Plex server? I have a huge movie collection as well and have moved then onto a server for streaming
Nah not yet. Been looking into it though. Got most of them ripped and on a hard drive but server is definitely the way to go
@@JamesMayer125 if you're looking for a good starting point you can use a spare PC and install truenas into it, it's a free and helps with installing Plex as it has a built in plugin for it, I'd recommend that 100%, I even use it for music streaming, I have about 90Gbs of music alone and it's the main reason I use android is because a normal iphone can't hold all my other data + music, but now that I have Plex anyone can stream my music or moves, even multiple people at once.
Use MakeMkv to for DVDs and blueray as it gets you the best quality out of your rips and maintains the subtitles and alternate languages which is good for myself because I watch everything with subtitles.
Something to look into definitely, if you have any questions lmk
Cheers! Yeah been using make mkv then compressing them with handbrake
@@JamesMayer125 I just use the raw mkv files haha I have a 20Tb server so I have enough space, I mostly have DVDs anyway not many blueray so I save more space
How much did this cost?
Just under $200 AUD for the shelf. But the movie collection… too much 🤣
@@JamesMayer125 thanks
