I am Eastern Orthodox, but I grew up Roman Catholic, so this hymn is very special to me. Very powerful prayer, although I couldn't help but notice that the breastplate was left out. ✝️
St Patrick Legacy lives...Praise to Jesus Christ...His work through the Saints bears witness....for 2000 years now......NO OTHER CAN SAVE US ....JESUS IS MESSIAH!
I suggested this as an Introit, to be completed with The Deer's Cry at the Eucharist at my lical Episcopal parish. The former Lutheran pastor thinks I'm crazy. We didn't even talk about Druids and smiths.
Sorry. I love the hymn, and the performance as far as it went, but performing only two verses out of seven gives a disorientingly amputated version of the whole.
This is from the BBC program Songs of Praise. You can see they are holding the hymnals the show makes for them. The show always keeps the hymns short so they can fit several into a half hour, while including travel documentary and background for the episode.

A wonderful powerful hymn, which is the School hymn of Dilworth School Auckland. My wife Jill composed a Mass based on the melody.

I love this hymn- it touches my soul

Beautiful rendition of this great hymn.

This was our closing hymn yesterday @ Cathedral Church of St. Mark Salt Lake City
A shame they abridged the hymn and left out the breastplate verse.
Is there a longer version by this same group?

Is the full version anywhere online by the same choir?
