TopPop was the first regular dedicated pop music TV show in the Dutch language area. Dutch broadcaster AVRO aired the programme weekly, from 1970 to 1988. Presenter Ad Visser hosted the show for its first fifteen years.
World famous music artists performed on TopPop: ABBA, 10CC, Bee Gees, The Jacksons with Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Earth & Fire, Queen, Golden Earring, Boney M, KC & The Sunshine Band, Chic, Donna Summer and many many more.

Music wise, Dave & the boys were among the very best that the seventies and eighties gave us. Working as a chip boy when this came out and sung along (somewhst badly) every time it was played on the radio.
I often have a laugh with my young son-in-law as he is a dead ringer for the always sunglasses cool ( soon turning 79) Mr. Allured 🙂
Showaddywaddy were a massive part of my growing up and every time I hear a track from them, oh, how I wish that I had a time machine!
He's still drumming, with my brother as it happens. Using an original Ludwig kit.

I always thought this was the best of their cover versions and should have been a number 1. Its just so well performed and unlike most cover versions of this great song they didn't lose any of its very real charm. As a kid it caused me to check out Dion generally and I'll always be grateful for that too.

It belongs to Dion and the Belmonts. Sha Na Na does a superior version.
