I'm so glad I grew up in the 70s. An incredible decade
The best times
best decade ever, glam rock, flower power, less prejudices more love.
Grettings fellow Moon followers :)
thanks moon app
1977 - remember dancing along to their steps, in our big bathroom, to the top 40 countdown, Sunday night bathtime. 11 years old.
Bath for school, Hahaha 😂😂😂😂
Snap
Hi my moon people
From the opening drum sequence, I'm instantly transported back, 10 years old and dancing in my velvet maxi dress at the school Xmas disco - we made our teacher play this over and over again (sorry Mr H! 😊) - and nearly 50 years later, it's one of a handful of songs that triggers wonderful memories and yearning for better times - smiling through the tears that just won't stop ... The incredible enduring power of music can never be underestimated.
Gteat tune, I was 13 I think. This was one of two of my first records, I also bought ABBA money, money money. They were number 1 and 2 in the charts, so predictable
Thanks for sharing your memories with us all.
I saw them live about 10 times they was my favourite group as a kid
I work with people with dementia, this is the karaoke favourite the residents love it (sadly I sing it 😂😂)they get up and dance none stop smiles
Not bad for a 32 year old bloke providing entertainment 😂😂
Wouldn't change it for the world
Good on you buddy
You sound like a class act. Whatever you get paid they should triple it. Backbone of this country people like you.

Hi mam I agree hundred percent. I am 52 but I love, love this music the rhythm transport you back in time when music still speaks to YOUR heart and soul and makes you happy and sad at the same time. Not ANGRY and give you feeling of kicking the radio like this generations music.😢😊❤❤❤❤

How time fly's...
Same here....
Still have the 7" single...
Me too. It had me dancing round the living room
We are the real ones !
Love that the moon app showed us this groovy track! New appreciation for an awesome band unlocked and what amazing outfits!
I remember seeing them at a holiday resort about 17 years ago. A dog walked on stage and Dave started singing ‘Who let the dogs out?!’ Everyone there absolutely wet ourselves. It remains the funniest moment in human history and anyone not there missed out big time.
We're all here 🌕🌜
Members of the house, the band was... Showaddywaddy
My teen years were the best 1970s my best decade ❤
I still have this on a 7 inch single. Loved it back then and love it now. Showaddywaddy were very talented and I wished they did more original stuff.
Great song! Wonderful memories of my teen years.
I was 21 when this came out, loved showaddwaddy then and still do
This kept Queen's "Somebody to love" from UK's #1-spot, weirdly enough.
I actually don't rate somebody to love i think its not a very good queen song
@@pinkbeatle2012 I agree. I think Good Old fashioned Lover boy was a much better song
Duhhh
Wow didn't know that x
Lol! Ooft! 😄
thx moon!!!🎀
Much maligned group but in the 70's got me into rock n roll and still love them to this day showaddywaddy are here to stay, Love this song
This bands name was on my 50th birthday card (I’m from Australia) and not familiar with this band. I’m very impressed, nice one guys, keep on rocking 👍
The 1970s Teddy Boys. Taking us back to the 1950s with their dress sense and music.
I saw Showaddywaddy several times they're brilliant even the last time I saw them. They even had the girls go up on-stage and dance with them. Loved them in the 70's and still now after all this time ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was my first ever vinyl record. I loved this song x
One of my Fathers all time favourites, be loved Showaddywaddy, he died 19/09/23 we played this at the Church during his removal, everyone was standing clapping along to the song it was such a special moment that will always stay with me ❤️
So sorry about your 😢
I've never lost a pool frame when this is played.
I think every person in my generation know this song as soon as those bongo drums played .
Brings back so many memories 😎
I was convinced this was a summer 1976 release but it was actually 6/11/1976.
Those are tympanis.
kettledrum or timpani, dearest, bongos are small portable hand-drums
Aww bless you 🤗 xx

Literally popped into my head......
Haven't heard it since I was a kid....
I'm 53...still had a bop too...x😂😊🎉🎉
I remember doing the step dance to this at school discos, also remember fancying the lead singer🤗😍😂
This was the first song l took note of when l was a 10 year old. It should have been my first single purchase but it wasnt. I cant remember which record was my first single purchase. St Michael.
Hugh Dennis brought me here. My love for music kept me! This is groovy!
Great memories of these beautiful times of music. Best music years ever. I was born in 1962 and very happy that I was able to experience these years when it was noh beautiful music with content. 60s 70s and 80s best years.

Many years ago I had the pleasure of a long taxi ride with dave. What a charming and gracious man he was. The music is of its time but still stands up on its own.

Malcom Allured was my neighbour in Griffydam, NW Leics for many years.
A great bloke he'd do anything for anybody.
One Christmas morning we'd been to the New Inn, Peggs Green for a few beers. On the way home we had to stop for a wee and an old lady reported us to the police.
