33:31 - "Loving Was" is freaking amazing. I dunno what it is about it, but the chords combined with the melody just tickle me the right way and even when I'm focused on something other than the music, it just pulls me right back into the vibe, and it's beautiful.
Wind and Winding & Dandelion really hits that sweet spot I really dig with RainbowRoad and Traveller. That S O U N D is so rare, I cant get enough ofso happy to be hearing more works
you know, i think being primed by listening to an entire album beforehand made the chorus of "Our Axis" just a little less stressful on my jittery ears/brain, so i think i can actually enjoy it now (it's good!) and acclimate the rest of the way yet another point in favour of albums being a good and useful format, and it's a really good album
I'm 100% right there with you. I found it excessively overwhelming like not in a bad way at first, but DEFINITELY stressful. Stressful was an excellent way to put it. Almost like I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS SPLENDOR THAT SCORCHES MY SOUL - like gazing into the eyes of THE DEEP ONES @_@
I love this album. It speaks to that part of my late-millennial, early Gen Z brain that was raised on a variety of Internet media and digital/software synths. The production is delicious and flavorful. You are an inspiration, Ms. Patricia Taxxon.
That 1999-2002 generation is so incredibly small for having such a distinctive vibe. Like. We blend with the rest of those who are near but those four years. Especially 2000-2001 feel like there is something a little unique/specific that the others had slightly different
@@QuintonMurdock I think the defining feature of that micro-generation is that we remember a significant amount of time before the proliferation of modern smartphones (that is, smartphones with few buttons and large touch-screens, and the ability to access the full internet and not a stripped-down version), yet nearly everyone had a smartphone by the time we graduated from high school. This also coincided with high-performance laptops that could outpace the desktops from 5 years prior, which had an effect on the sonics of the generation. MacBook Pro was the instrument of choice for so many bedroom producers. And the fruits of this revolution were the hits of our middle-school years. We're also the last micro-generation to have significant memories of cassette tapes, tube TVs, and maybe dial-up internet. We're the generation of rapid technological changes, for better or worse. To me, I think that technological change is more defining of the Z-lennials than simply not remembering 9-11, which was still discussed frequently in our childhoods.
Your music reminds me so much of the beloved cartoon network music of this second golden era of cartoons, and it's a lovely feeling I enjoy it so much, thank you.
45:51 Thanks for that blast from the past! I think I was yeeted all the way back to my first year of high school when this track started to play, haha. In the context of the songs you usually write, hearing your voice singing Owl City's lyrics puts a WAY deeper perspective on the song. I commend you! 🤝
On Dandelion, are the meters of the chords, percussion, and bassline out of sync? It's super cool that you pulled that off while still creating something so musical.
I wouldn't call this project as ambitious or well-produced as DTB, but this is grand ol' time all the same. I love how well you're working with the guest vocalists and the forays into R&B were very well done. Favourite track for me is Kanban - and were those references to Nine Stars intentional or was that just me? Can't wait to hear what you'll put out this year Patricia! You've got nowhere to go but up.
i put 20 into this on bandcamp just for the way its been with me the last month. been a tough and stressful month but the way patricia uses basic wave forms to imply endless sounds is amazing to me. pls patricia can we be friends
Cool Album! It sounds more art-popish than pop for most songs. Also, was that a tritone modulation instead of a semitone modulation in "You're Welcome"?
THIS ALBUM JSGJGHJHDBJHGSHKUCH This slaps so fuckinh hard. I don't know how you manage to constantly top your own work but this is my new favourite work of yours
"The Horse" reminds me of something from the "Krusty's Fun House" video game for some reason and i mean that in a _good_ way ... so, like, reminiscent but _better_
fuvking best album of yours i have heard, amazing stuff, but if you gonna include a song listing why would you not also have timestamps next to the names in the descpription for easier relistening?

Thank you so much for timestamp
Yeah holy moly this is incredible
Dissociating to this on new year's as a fun new religious experience. Shit kicks. A good fucking album
Dissociation as an exercise... What a concept.
Oh, didn't realise I was finally listening to this on its release anniversary haha
41:51 - Our Axis takes me to another dimension, and I listen to it too often
damn, I was just looking for some background noise but this album busted my door down and decked me.
Damn... Damnn.... Just watched the 40-minute-long video on your theory. I liked it a lot. Great ad for the album, haha.
listening to this stoned made me feel like my brain was being turned off and on again if that makes sense
I don't think I've ever actually analyzed/interpreted the lyrics of fireflies until it was recontextualized in this album
I could be 60 and I'm gonna come back to You're Welcome. This song feels like what a modern classic is in the year 2021.
Perfect music to listen to on my porch while doing online school work on a dark and stormy, windy and rainy night.
Our Axis is stuck in my head now
Wind and winding is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard
this slaps harder than that twisted tea guy slapped that other dude
fireflies cover caught me off guard. I loved that song so much jfc
Our Axis blew me away. It seems like every album you make tops the last.
2:14 that mitsuda lick tho 😳
Wind and Winding & Dandelion really hits that sweet spot I really dig with RainbowRoad and Traveller.

this album made me play my piano that i've been neglecting. fantastic work, as always.

The Horse is the ultimate 2020 experience, that track sounds like the world is falling apart

The vulnerability of your vocals in Fireflies is so beautiful. I truly love this album. Thank you
I really wish I could buy a vinyl of this album
Whatever started happening at around 11:50 is amazing~ #o#
Not sure what track but daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn #3#
this album feels like im crying to myself, in the middle of dance floor, cathartically jamming out

Ok, I wasn't expecting Dandelion to make me feel that sad kind of nostalgic
I need to press charges against this album because it slaps so fucking hard

I'm getting some Zelda vibes in Wind and Winding. I love it.
Cool Album! It sounds more art-popish than pop for most songs. Also, was that a tritone modulation instead of a semitone modulation in "You're Welcome"?
Can we have the little animated snippet of your welcome as it's own video?
i was not expecting a cover of fireflies, and have major whiplash
THIS ALBUM JSGJGHJHDBJHGSHKUCH This slaps so fuckinh hard. I don't know how you manage to constantly top your own work but this is my new favourite work of yours

I DID NOT EXPECT YOU TO DO A COVER OF FIREFLIES! I feel betrayed.

That last song choice surprised me, it was fuckin perfect
I like this, I can tell someone bled to make it. Was it adam?
that fireflies cover is amazing
"The Horse" reminds me of something from the "Krusty's Fun House" video game for some reason

@@GEMOTO Loving Was
Nice

damn this is really good
would be awesome if you'd put time stamps in the description :)
I wish I knew which song is which
yeah boiii
Wind and winding legit sounds like something out of a pokemon ost. DPPt maybe?
dastardly
Some of the bits in wind and winding sounds like something straight out of ys lol (specifically origin)
damn
'gagement gang 2020
Is this ever going to be on spotify? Or at least soundcloud?
It's on Bandcamp

Still good, but knowing more of what the album is beforehand it still feels a little confused. The second half of this feels more "mainstream pop".
I mean... 2 of the songs in the second half were used as examples in her video essay on pop music theory, it sounds like she did a great job
I'll be honest. Adams bass is a little lame until he starts the solo.
I told you nothing matters
The first one kinda sounds like 8-bit music
already claimed fat F
This music is sour as rhino milk. Make it as long as the longman.

Took too long to pick up. Came here from 4 chords song. Left like 4 minutes in
