God this album makes me cry so damn hard. It reminds me of those small, transient moments in life that are beautiful and filled with joy and wonder but forgotten only a little while later. I so badly wish I could remember every small exchange I have with every person, every second spent alone observing the beautiful world around me but like an airplane peeking through the clouds I can only experience it for a moment before it’s gone again, and I have to just be content with the fact that one day we might be able to do this again. Good music.
Always amazed how even though these albums are released every 2 months or so, the music is consistently incredible. Love this one a lot, reminds me a bit of Boards of Canada.
The cover art reminds me a lot of Warrior Cats, specifically the StarClan cats, even more specifically how fan-artists interpret them. Transparent feline phantoms formed of stars, all of whom are parted souls of fallen warriors. Every star in the sky is one of those fallen, and the cats all call the starry night sky that of which they gaze upon Silverpelt. That cat emerging from the night sky reminded me a lot of those cats. Even the gorgeous music I'm listening to now has that enchanting starry vibe to it, just like the cat ghosts. And even though I never really cared about the books all that much there's something so damn beautiful about making the connection between these books and the stunning cover art I'm seeing right now.
@@dongvermine what are you talking about? I meant the artist who drew the cover, and I said nothing about the meaning behind the artwork, only that the artist did read the Warrior Cats books
I listened to this album with my eyes closed, I really loved how smoothly the music transitioned and faded out. It felt like something incredibly delicate that I had to take immense care of to let down without damaging it.
Cribwhistling lives up to the name of the album, I truly feel like I'm flying when I get to 34:35 it's magical. The rest of the album is amazing as well, especially Scruff and Skyhorn. The soundcapes are so vast and varied, yet cohesive and warm in a lot of places (like Kitty ❤). One of my favorites as I work my way through Patty's discography.
I always find myself returning to this album because I remembered Kitty, and what it made me feel, but every track on this release conveys such wonderful emotions. Always a delight to listen to.
The whole vibe of Scruff is absolutely immaculate, heavy beat, sonar-like pings, ominous droning bass, it's got all the weird little things I like and makes me feel strangely calm
This was pretty nice to listen to! Cribwhistler and Minute are defensively my favorites so far. Honorable mentions also go to Scruff and kitty as well. Scruff is an absolute killer and kitty is such a sweet track. This album is definitely a good one for sure!
I just downloaded this album off your bandcamp and spent over two hours trying to burn it onto a CD to no avail and ultimately ended up folding my disc drive in half diagonally This album is so good, definitely your top 3 work.
This album is SO AMAZING! I LOVE the variety of sounds on this album, and it's SO well produced! Such a breathtakingly good album, and I can't wait to listen to more of Patricia Taxxon's music!
Dood! WTF, you are blowing my mind with how much I like this. Praise to the cover artist too - those big, warm, inquisitive eyes pop with contrast in color+mood.
This is easily my favourite album of yours so far, I love the concept and every single song sounds wonderful, thanks for creating and sharing miss Taxxon 🖤🖤🖤
hell yeaaaaaaaaaaa. This has that Traveller album & Rainbow Road album sound I been longing for. My soul is quenched. Giving a sound to that retro futuristic space colonies on the brightest timeline. Real good juice to create art too. Forever thankful.
In regards to the described inspiration, wow, you really managed to capture that oddly specific feeling. Especially with Scruff and Skyhorn. There's a sort of awe-inspiring sense of scale and distance, and almost openess to them
This style feels like an evolved take on Patricia’s earlier album Motel Sounds. I love the pacing of every track, and the beat transition on track 2. Ms Taxxon, you’ve done it again! Edit: fixed appositive
Your music always gives me so many thoughts and feelings. This is an album I frequently revisit! One of my favorites of all time not just of your work but of any music!
Man, this reminds me of driving home on a dark highway late at night with only the stars and moon to guide the way. Thanks for sharing the music with us Patricia Taxxon!
I keep coming back to this album! It's getting me through a difficult time (I'm about to graduate from school, and I'm loaded with finals). Also, your production is super clean. The supersaws are both rich and clear - they're neither muddy nor piercing. Porter should take some notes from this album.
@@alexandriablake8992 in kitty, the line "I’m her entangled pet, offhandedly beloved" is a near-direct quote from vihart's extraordinarily good video essay Twelve Tones, at the timestamp 7:28 (though i seriously recommend watching the whole thing)
Kitty kinda gives me beach life in death vibes lyrically. Like the idea of meeting a significant other, not sure if that's exactly what the song is about tho, I couldn't tell you what it means, but it meant something to me.
This album shreds and I've listened to it many times, but tonight my earphones unsynced from each other and the left channel was lagging, like, 0.15 seconds behind the right channel and it gave a cool, trippy vibe to it that I really enjoyed. I wonder if that's something you'd be interested in messing around with, as a woman who knows how to make music, to see if that's an effect you could use to great (and intended) effect
"That thing your ears do when i say you're my best friend" Edit: after a few listens i'm pretty sure this is about meeting your discord kitten irl and personally, i'm all for it
It took me so many years to discover this artist's beautiful music...
This album gets better with every listen…. Kitty is such a heartwarming track
definetly one that grows on me
@@gemmahudack6182 same
I want to print that cover art on a t-shirt.
Heck, I'd have it as a print, that artist is incredible
It would be such a nice wallpaper too !! 😊😊❤❤👍

They are! Especially as a questioning possible furry
I've never listened to this artist before, but... I really like this. Feels like it describes another world.
this was the first album she released after I started watched her and omg i've been hooked into her music
You shold totally check out more of her music! She's amazing.

It’s actually about cat stevens
I know the artist, she did actually read Warrior Cats
@@ozzush incorrect unfortunately-I’m familiar with the artist as well and it is meant as a tribute to the fallen musician.

I thought it was too much reverb but I was convinced that I was wrong. Cool and beautiful music. I like the cat. Also nice vihart reference.
vihart??? what! where?
oop ok i just found some other people talking about it below, i know now
How is it even possible to make content this technically demanding at a pace this rapid?
