Best ambient album of all time. Songs like Rhubarb/#3 or Stone in Focus/#19 and Matchsticks/#25 are simply incredible. It's safe to say this album is and will be timeless

@@Wil_Dsensewell actually Rhubarb and Radiator have been confirmed since on the Peel Session it's called Radiator (Original Mix) and the Orchestrated version of #3 has Rhubarb in the name lol
@@IamJustTheBiscuityOfTheSeaity yeah, that’s because WARP or the marketing team probably made them add titles instead of just Untitled 1, 2 etc, they were already called those track names on digits platforms etc so it would make sense to reference the track title if he use some of the audio stems from it to make an alternate version (in this case ‘Rhubarb’). But yes, it’s clear that a Radiator is in the image of track #2, but track is not actually called that.
I always listen to this album when I'm on a plane. There is something about deconnecting from the previous space and temporary being in-between of worlds that it captures so well... Thank you, Richard
A beautiful yet disturbing album. Some of the sections on this album are more haunting than anything I've ever encountered in music. Makes me revisit both pleasant and difficult memories. Bravo Aphex for creating such an otherworldly piece of art
Actually this is the only album I know in existence that can give me a panic attack or deep existential dread and depression. It's so dreadful, hopeless, dark.... I never really understood when people said that it calms them down, that it's beautiful, that it evokes almost heavenly emotions.. for sure there are some tracks on this album where you're taken aback by how beautiful and uplifting they sound, but most of the running time on this album is taken up by some really vivid landscapes of terror. I can hear a purgatory, a liminal space, an existential dread, an overwhelming loneliness, a loss of track of time, a hellish limbo, a dark place, an eternal pain.... this album is terrifying and sometimes I just don't know if I want it to exist. But here we are 30 years later and it's completely and deservedly considered a classic.
if you resonate with the void a certain way, then a certain way you'll feel. i believe there's a thing behind our minds that brings us life and consciousness that isn't sad or happy, it's as deep as you can imagine it for it is the concept of depth itself. if you embrace your bottomless realizations as only natural, this album is like a soundtrack to a process of self discovery. it also helps me to sleep :)

Hard for me to even verbalize how impactful this album was/is on me, and other types of introspective amibent music like it. Absolutely perfect in my opinion. Also want to put this here since I grew up listening to your stuff: Found you back in 2013 where I watched the Rubber Johnny and Come to Daddy music videos and started listening to your music when I found Analord back in 2017. Almost 24 years old and have now collected most of your albums from Smojphace, The Tuss to now (obviously) Aphex Twin. If it wasn't for your music, I wouldn't be alive or even commenting this today. Your music has made me sleep peacefully, focus on important things in life and kept me sane throughout the years. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you never stop making music. Thank you for everything, Rich. Much love. 7\

This album captures so many emotions in pieces. often reflective, and sad but all round a fascinating listen. one you sit and listen to and think how life is always moving forward. the inclusion of the orchestrated rhubarb is a nice touch too.
I've just listened it for the first time the night of release, for sleeping, and it spooked me out like I child in the bed. Made me scared of opening my eyes at moments.
Been falling asleep to this album (well, the original) for decades now. Can't believe how much time has passed since my first listen. This album holds up no matter what. Achingly beautiful, relaxing, chill and ambient, often unsettling... so many different vibes and memories from these tracks. Looking forward to relaxing to this updated classic tonight.

Feels surreal to finally listen to Stone in Focus on vinyl too which is a bonus. Although yes, I already got the OG SAW2 on CD but this one feels complete to me for some reason.
Even hearing the eerie ones like for e.g: #4 (Hankle), #7 (Curtains), #10 (Tree) and #22 (Spots) with a slight Vibrato effects makes the experience fitting along with Rhubarb and Lichen sounding more nostalgic than they were on the original version.
Much love. 7\
Wow. This is awesome. It feels great seeing the album in full lenght
My favorite album of all time, I listen to it many times a week.
38:52 i think one of the best songs here. This song has like a secret history or something in it.
It's one of my favorite tracks on the album. Very creepy and atmospheric.
@@ReasonablySizedChungusInstead of creepy, i find this song very comfy
Thank you Warp for full album upload!
Releasing a deluxe album 30 years later is something only aphex is allowed to do
It’s a common thing to do.
Great to see the Caroline Polachek pfp btw
Thank you for everything Richard, so many times focusing at work and doing my best because of this selected #1 and #2, also so many psychedelic comedowns listening to this one, Aphex 4 Life!
How are you doing Richard? Financially and mentally? Wishing you all the best, keep making banger music.
I bought the double vinyl while on a trip to London in 1996. I've kept it all these years. Lots of memories rush back when listening to this album.
Oh, I envy you!
this is a gift. when im down and i need myself to be inspired and motivated again i come back to this masterpiece and listen to those dreamy and beautiful melodies. every track is a work of art and it’s a bliss in his own unicity. Thank you Richard for a beautiful gift like this. We love you so much❤️7\
公式が出してくれるのはありがたい!
I know what I'm doing for the next 3 hours 4 minutes and fifty-four seconds.
You've got so many machines...Richard!
just got my copy!
it’s beautiful!!
simply awesome, thank you good sir!
What a presie this morning, thanks!
Thank you for the boxset Richard.. it's lovely ❤
So much love for you Richard. Love from Wiltshire England xxxx
Greatest composer of this and last millennium.. you even create your own orchestra
