Does anyone else wonder whether these songs were written under the influence of a highway?? The synths purr like laughing automobile engines, made of the finest porcelain and crystals. Anyone who has lived near a highway can tell you. It's a growling noise, but it has a pleasant familiarity once you get used to it. Maybe boc just delivers what is familiar in our subconscious. Maybe it is the automobile that drives us, just for once?
the truck sound in Odd Nosdam's mix of Dayvan Cowboy - a sound coming from far away then disappearing into the night - is that Highway sound you talk about - recall that they did travel Canada and the US in the late 90's where they picked up the sound, and have used it in their sound here and there ever since
Most of their music has a feeling of a journey, either by road, rail, air, sea or space. There are lots of their tunes that has the rhythmic sound of a train on tracks at various speeds. They also capture the sound and feeling of weather perfectly which adds to the trip. The music is largely nostalgic nods to the sounds of our childhood. Projector sounds & PSA films, Train travel & seaside trips, wildlife walks, kite flying, sail boating etc. Oh & distant chatter/laughter carried by the wind. Making music that you can feel is a rare gift & these boys are absolutely brimming with it.

I'd say Jesus would be fucking fuming as the things that are 'happening in his name'. I'm sure it'll be all right in the end and the world will keep turning like it has for billoins of years (or a a few 1000 if you believe the magic book of fables). Keep safe!
