@@neighbor472 Aphex twin is 62, playboi carfi gave birth to him at 12 years old after being impregnated by bill Clinton , that's why his complexion is so mild and clean
You are not alone, it took me decades for his work to "click" and now I'm absolutely in awe of his specific sort of casual brilliance. He's a modern Mozart who has pushed music forward and continues to challenge listeners to catch up. When we arrive there we find that he was right all along.
I think its never too late to discover something that brings joy. First touch to Aphex for me was seeing the Windowlicker on MusicTV. Looking back at that video now and it is even more valid - So well produced and what a tune! Aphex is oracle and composer of our time! Saw his live set couple years back. when im having a hard time with life or my mental or creating more music and art i always find myself turnin to the countless aphex twin mixes on youtube or soundcloud. i may lose friends i may lose sanity i may lose minutes but at least when the clocks turn and the sand settles i can have aphex playin in the background as i drift off into the ether once and for all it sucks everything has to be so hard but life is as life is i love it thanks to aphex
There is an article about him out there called 'unidentifiable emotions'. like yourself i think it pretty much hits the nail on the head, his work leaves you guessing just what emotion it is you are experiencing.
Aphex Twin music unlocks some creative part of me like nothing else in existence quite does. My writer's block fades away with every song. Props to the best to ever do it, Richard D James!~
Same, first song that hit me was "On" when i was a little kid watching mtv & viva at night. Then i forgot the name for years but always kept the melody in my head. Never forget that day I found this track and listened it again...
For years I’ve meant to get into podcasts but I pretty much always get distracted by much more beautiful & beneficial listening experiences like this mix. There’s only so much time!
Fair comment about listening and chilling. You could always blend a podcast in with the music, like another tab for example. Then pause, change volumes etc of either as you go. Make the best of both so to speak. Could also make for an interesting blend depnding on the podcast subject. Enjoy as you do.

I never went to a free rave with aphex twin playing but went to plenty others. It' hard to describe without writing 10,000 words. I'd just say it was a freer time. Things were easier. People just got along and had fun. I remember we'd ring a number at about 8-9 oclock and the answer message would tell us where to go. under a motorway or an empty warehouse etc. The traffic getting in was always fun. People would have tunes blasting from their cars. people just dancing wherever they were. Hard dancing not just swaying - having it on the hard shoulder. Girls fully in the mix too. Dancing and sweating like their lives depended on it. pilled up chewing their faces off haha. Lost to time now. Gotta look pretty or tough I guess these days. @@kevinsedwardssounds awful these days, im 34, but back in my teens i saw Aphex a few times and it always involved ecstacy. Old Godzilla was hopping around
Tokyo City like a big playground
When suddenly Batman burst from the shade
And hit Godzilla with a Batgrenade
Godzilla got pissed and began to attack
But didn't expect to be blocked by Shaq
Who proceeded to open up a can of Shaq-Fu
When Aaron Carter came out of the blue
And he started beating up Shaquille O'Neal
Then they both got flattened by the Batmobile
But before it could make it back to the Batcave
Abraham Lincoln popped out of his grave
And took an AK-47 out from under his hat
And blew Batman away with a rat-a-tat-tat
But he ran out of bullets and he ran away
Because Optimus Prime came to save the day
This is the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
Good guys, bad guys, and explosions as far as the eye can see
And only one will survive, I wonder who it will be
This is the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
Godzilla took a bite out of Optimus Prime
Like Scruff McGruff took a bite out of crime
And then Shaq came back covered in a tire track
But Jackie Chan jumped out and landed on his back
And Batman was injured, and trying to get steady
When Abraham Lincoln came back with a machete
But suddenly something caught his leg and he tripped
Indiana Jones took him out with his whip
Then he saw Godzilla sneaking up from behind
And he reached for his gun which he just couldn't find
'Cause Batman stole it and he shot and he missed
And Jackie Chan deflected it with his fist
Then he jumped in the air and did a somersault
While Abraham Lincoln tried to pole vault
Onto Optimus Prime, but they collided in the air
Then they both got hit by a Care Bear stare
This is the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
Good guys, bad guys, and explosions as far as the eye can see
And only one will survive, I wonder who it will be
This is the ultimate showdown
Angels sang out an immaculate chorus
Down from the heavens descended Chuck Norris
Who delivered a kick which could shatter bones
Into the crotch of Indiana Jones
Who fell over on the ground, writhing in pain
As Batman changed back into Bruce Wayne
But Chuck saw through his clever disguise
And he crushed Batman's head in between his thighs
Then Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf the White
And Monty Python and the Holy Grail's black knight
And Benito Mussolini and the Blue Meanie
And Cowboy Curtis and Jambi the Genie
Robocop, The Terminator, Captain Kirk, and Darth Vader
Lo-pan, Superman, every single Power Ranger
Bill S. Preston and Theodore Logan
Spock, The Rock, Doc Ock, and Hulk Hogan
All came out of nowhere lightning fast
And they kicked Chuck Norris in his cowboy ass
It was the bloodiest battle that the world ever saw
With civilians looking on in total awe
The fight raged on for a century
Many lives were claimed, but eventually
The champion stood, the rest saw their better
Mr. Rogers in a bloodstained sweater
This is the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny
Good guys, bad guys, and explosions as far as the eye can see
And only one will survive, I wonder who it will be
This is the ultimate showdown
