I just drove for a distance of 300miles on the highway - having this album on repeat. When I arrived, I felt like I traveled through space & time. Best purchase I made this year... probably the best album I bought in years. Easily one of the best records I listened to in my whole life. It's as close to perfection as it gets. Favorite tracks: Nattväsen, ~42°, Loss Aversion /// CBL... thank you for this piece of art, it gives me peace of mind.

I accidentally stumbled across CBL about a month ago. The cover art for this album is hypnotic and drew me in. I know it came out in 2017... but it's my 2021 favorite. They should have used these tracks in the movie Bladerunner 2049. This album would have been the perfect accompaniment.

I understand exactly what you're trying to say. It's weird, because other ambient producers just don't sound quiiiiite right. But CBL know how to build a complete album that just works. There are other Ultimae artists that can make amazing tracks, but overall, making a complete piece work, CBL seem to be the only ones.

It's not only frequency - it's rhythmic delays and their hallmark liquid SFX, as well as pads/drones washed by the long reverberation. Also they use subtle side-chaining on their bass lines quite a lot that creates rhythmic pump feeling.
Same. I think it's because CBL isn't afraid to bring the warm feelings of the new age genre into their music. So it's kind of dark and atmospheric, yet warm, glowy, smooth. It's what sets them apart from anyone else and why I've loved them for so many years.

I am growing into being a fan of Carbon Based Lifeforms! They make music with electronic instruments, giving them a tremendous sound pallet to make acoustic paintings. They create symphonies of sound paintings.
It's impossible to listen to just one track on this album. When Accede starts I'm unable to stop listening to change to any other track. This is the best electronic music album I've ever heard, and one of my favorite albums ever, no matter the genre!

I went to the release party for this album. They hosted it in an old cinema in Gothenburg. I almost fell asleep a few times as the event were so relaxing :D
Most music fades on you. It gets repetitive, you grow out of it, you mabye still appreciate it, but those feelings it evoked when you discovered it are gone. CBL is not one of them. I still regularly listen to it years later. Whatever ultimatly brought this music into the world. Im thankful for it.

You know how good ambient music is when you are so lost in your process/monologue, you don't even notice that you notice it, and that it is quietly helping you stay in your focused flowstate and get stuff done. This is why CBL. much like Stellardrone, and H.U.V.A Network are so awesome. :)

Man...CBL is soooo good. I still hold that Interloper is their best album. In my opinion, I'd say it's a perfect album...in the sense that you can listen over and over again, all the way through, and never get bored with it. Refuge was always my favourite CBL go to album for the first two tracks over the 12mins but I've found myself scrolling to 43:00 to 49:00 on Derelicts, love this section. I've been listening to that album many times, and I found that it has a rare quality. It allows me to get in a state of mind that, I think, is similar to meditation. It's like all of life's noise momentarily dim down while the song slowly brings my consciouness within itself, to a place of peace. I'm not an esoteric person, yet I feel like the experience is deeper than just music.

Man...CBL is soooo good. I still hold that Interloper is their best album. In my opinion, I'd say it's a perfect album...in the sense that you can listen over and over again, all the way through, and never get bored with it. This album has been really neat so far, and I'll keep listening. Good stuff, thanks guys!!

It isn't really a thing, nor does it exist in one particular place
You could say that it is an optical phenomenon that only appears when the atmospheric conditions are just right, and so is the sunlight
It is also dependent on the viewer's position, that should be in this one particular place
It isn't something divine or angelic, but it's appearance can be truly and utterly breathtaking
And some would say that it is borderline magical
I have been hand-picked by the celestial gods, as a usable specimen of the human, to go forward in time and space as a representative and show other galaxies what inhabits Planet Earth. How humbling this is, and as my theme I have chosen CBLF, to calm and enlighten those who may gaze upon me wondering my intentions.

After the explosion of electronic ambient dub and ambient hypnotic bands of the 90s, the age had passed and muzik peaked in that Genre. Then came Carbon Based Lifeforms.
Already my favorite album from CBL
"Loss Aversion" (1:02:35) is particularly nice. It's the kind of music that for me evokes the idea of a hopeful and livable future.
My personal favourite. Tied with "Derelicts".
Divine, spiritual and dreamy what great music especially Derelicts and clouds.
I enjoy RUclips's visible play analytics because it reveals what songs other viewers really don't seem to like. Seems like "Clouds" and "Path of Least Resistance" are the whipping boys of this album.
11:55 song had me in tears. Brought back some good memories and reminded me of some things I try and forget.

It has a blues//swing beat that hooks you immediately, and I feel like I'm in a movie while driving to this!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!
Hearing the opening synth melody on this album immediately removes me from my current state. There's something very simple, but transcendental about CBL's music that I can always count on to take me into a different space.
"Clouds" is terrific. Listening to this song is like entering a transcendental portal to a distant time & place. Good stuff.
I think almost all their songs are like that. Its the nature of ambient.
It is not condemning me for being self-indulgent but it seems to encourage me to be a better version of who I am.

Refuge was always my favourite CBL go to album for the first two tracks over the 12mins but I've found myself scrolling to 43:00 to 49:00 on Derelicts, love this section.

I've been listening to that album many times, and I found that it has a rare quality. It allows me to get in a state of mind that, I think, is similar to meditation.
It's like all of life's noise momentarily dim down while the song slowly brings my consciouness within itself, to a place of peace.
I'm not an esoteric person, yet I feel like the experience is deeper than just music.

This is one of the most perfect albums I’ve ever listened too. I can listen to it cover to cover and it never gets old. Its a masterpiece of the genre.
