Great breakdown and analysis, thx for the video. I agree that it simplifies the timing issue, especially for the younger players

What i really get out of Ohtani is the load of his left back pocket moving toward the 1st base dugout. This forces the entire body to stay back/balanced/closed and coiled until trigger. Still working on improving my toe tap 😁

Watching this on Ohtani's 39th homerun in 2024.

Ojalá hubiera habido youtube en los 80's, habría quedado más veces campeón jonronero en amateur

So I’m playing 14u and I’m 13 and when I take my step it’s gets me off balanced I have tried this and it helps a lot and I am more consistent should I stay with this swing or no

      100% stick with it!
Our goal as hitters is to have a consistent timing and rhythm on every swing! Once you have this, then you can really start to dial in on your mental approach.
At this point, your adjustments become more mental than anything. Too many hitters start struggling then change their entire timing/rhythm mechanism which only creates more issues.
If you need help with your mental approach, I just started a FREE online community where I can help you directly with your approach and how to make adjustments. If you signup now it’s 100% Free forever!

@VernonFord-vz6gl Thanks for sharing! Also, I’m recruiting coaches to be apart of my online Mental Hitting community. It’s 100% free to join now. My plan is to bring together a group of players, parents, and coaches that recognize there is a huge gap in the mental training side of hitting and baseball in general. This is a place for collaboration and growth for ALL members! Here’s the link if you’re interested…

Basically you can’t teach this and Ohtani is just a natural legend.

He is a living legend, that’s true. But anything can be taught and learned, doesn’t mean you’ll be Ohtani, just means you can benefit from the strategies of the greats. And calling him a “natural” is more an insult than a compliment.

Interesting, mostly, ohtani hits left-handed. This video is right-handed.

Yes it was reversed. Same swing. Same principles.
