@@mentalhittingguy How to stop overthinking and just to have clarity of thoughts. In BP I smoke balls but come game time I sometimes just freeze due to thinking if my swing is the correct one and then by the time the pitch I actually want to hit comes and I’m done thinking it’s by me. So just you emphasising what is needed helped me a lot

@@mentalhittingguy great! So, there is a thing I see MLB guys do. When they stride, they would “shift” their upper torso somewhat to back leg. So that their head is not above the pelvis, but more above the back foot. I believe it’s done so that upper body continues front for line (which is not vertical but inclined). This ways, the whole body is inclined, which makes a good looking axis to turn around during swing. The question is, do I make things up? Or is there really something like that happening and has a reason?

@@oleksiinezhyborets6821 No, you are correct. That is definitely something that MLB hitters do. I would just want to point out, the more you lean back the more your path will be working upward through the hitting zone and thus not getting on plane. Same way if you’re leaning too far forward your path will be steeper down. Big power guys can get away with more lean back bc high fly balls can turn into homers. I’d say the most common and “ideal” position would be NOT straight/centered with the head, but a tick or two back. Most of the best hitters for average and power with lower strikeouts will have more of the position I just described. Aaron Judge would be an exception, NOT the rule.

Depends. I have a rule of thumb on this, around 10% of your body weight in ounces should be your heaviest bat weight. If you weigh 150 pounds that would be a 15 ounce bat weight. So 16 is perfect! This is not including the weight of the bat, just the bat weight itself. Then I usually recommend a second bat weight at half of your heavy weight. So if 16oz is your heavy, then that would be an 8oz. Start with heavy until you start to fatigue. Drop down to the lighter one, go till you fatigue in the hands/forearms, then go to your regular bat and into hitting routine. Hope that helps!
