  • As a Unity developer, After their terrible decision about pricing, I decided to try out Godot for the first time and I was blown away! With Godot 4 on the horizon, Unity may soon have some serious competition in the game engine world. Which Game Engine is better? Watch as I compare the two and give my honest opinions. With this video Unity vs Godot round 1 begins!
Godot 4 is looking like it will be a major game changer in the world of game engines. In this video, I'll share my experience using Godot for the first time and why I believe it may be the best game engine alternative to Unity. As a Unity developer, I was pleasantly surprised by Godot's features and capabilities. Is Unity in trouble? Let's find out!

For the most part, Godot attracts amateurs who are unable to fork it, and frankly, they don’t want to fork it because they feel satisfied with what Godot offers them. Most people don’t care, and professionals opt for more established and capable game engines instead. We were just under the illusion that Godot is the game engine we all waited for.

The main developers behind it are running several for-profit companies, and control development decisions both for Godot and their companies (W4 Games, Ramatak Mobile Studio, etc.) Some former maintainers of Godot left the engine behind because of bullying by Godot's leadership. On the technical level, many features are left half-backed or even broken, such as Godot's built-in physics in Godot 4.0.

I mean i have started like this too and there is nothing wrong with it... it decreases the time of programming and is much much easier... But i find it rewarding to program in an IDE... im an Java programmer(not that good but im still learning) and i find it much more easy then using a Game Engine... mainly because i like to instead of putting the position of everything in an scene... i rather use code for it and allot of it... its just easier for me but everyone has their own way i guess lol.
