This is professionalism. The guitarists has it nailed, the background singers are outstanding, the rest of the band are damn tight and Boz's voice just doesn't grow old!
This is professionalism. Something that is sorely missing in today's music scene. Everyone plays an instrument and the singers are incredible. Boz is great and he knows how to put it down. No faking the funk here .
WOW!!...Boz sounds great!! 65 yrs. old and sounding just like he did in the '70s!! I appreciate his accuracy-fantastic and the best I've heard for any singers up there in age. Many memories too. Thanks for posting!....
Echo that .. I always check out backing singers as they can make or break a track. Scaggs clearly recognizes this as he has always had top notch singers and these two ladies are first class.. great sound.
@@garylove5475I saw Boz Scaggs 5 years ago in Atlantic City, NJ. He had these same backup singers. They are absolutely very talented singers! Boz and his band also brought their A+ game 😊😊😊
Probably not the best thing to listen to late at night when I need to get up early in the morning, but I just can’t help myself. Just want to get up and sing and dance… lol. Love Boz!
I am a Classical professional musician who mainly listens to classical but and can say he is one of the best vocalists EVER in popular music.Believe me I am fussy. He is very musical-I love his very disctinctive sound.NO-ONE else has that voice. He is like Elton-a one-off .
Wow! What a fantastic performance. Those background singers are incredible. Boz has aged so well. His tour last year was stellar. Looking forward to catching his next tour.
This one sends chills down my vertebrae. Got good nostalgic memories when this song came out in 1980. That was a great year for music. Not seeing anything like it these days.
Frankie Pitochelli Yeah I've been busy with my dad, he had his second heart attack on Dec.12th 3 weeks in the hospital and 3 weeks in a rehab facility. Finally getting to come home tomorrow and he'll be living with me from now on since he's 84 now can't take any chances. Yeah I'll look you up on fb and send you a friend invite :)
Great song and what a great performance...i DLed the album of this show a couple of weeks ago and haven't stopped playing it since...live music at its very best.
One of the most underrated musicians ever. He had his fame but he impacted music with this stuff. And how many can say that the live version is almost better than the original? Dude is a bad@ss
This man is a new cat to me, but how good is he? It is so nice to hear a great voice, splendid musicians perform sooooo good. Boz has this seldom laidback style and his timing is down to perfect. For this kind of music is doesn`t really get any better. All smiles :-)
Back in the 70s there was so much great and different music, we were spoilt. My favourite soloists were Boz and George Benson. Hell they were spectacular and such laybacked performers
@Troubleboys.... Thanks for the upload! Fantastic song and as usual an excellent performance. I saw him in concert last Fall in Tulsa, Oklahoma it was quite an experience! He is even more awesome in person! Boz Scaggs is simply the best at EVERY THING!!!!! " I'll never let you down", Mr. Scaggs truer words were never spoken!
You know the bit that gets me every time? The run down into the chorus section of the song along with the double hit right through the kit! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeahhhhh!

@sandystillblooms I'm old too. Back in the 70's when he was in Portland OR, he and Steve Miller were on the bill at the Memorial Coliseum. I had an in, and went to dinner with him and his entourage at famous Jake's Crawfish till 3AM. What a night! I'll never forget it. He's better than ever. Thank you for communicating your feelings so far away, yet so closely.
@Mickagume : YOU have excellent taste...I just saw Boz last night in Sacramento Ca. and he never fails to delight and amaze.....what a legend.....I got so close to the stage that I was thinking , "I can't believe I am seeing this legend still performing, as good (or better) than ever! And he seems so laidback and truly a gentleman....
Highly recommend the "Fade Into Light" CD has reworks of "Lowdown and "Harbor Lights" that when I first saw them thought "Oh no! Remakes!" But man they are great! Although this doesn't back the punch of the original with the Porcaro brothers and Lukather's guitar it great and Boz hasn't lost a step! Bonus copies of the CD have a DVD on flipside with videos from this concert! By the way, The full concert "Boz Scaggs Greatest Hits LIVE" DVD is available at Amazon,Ebay or lots of places!
oh the memories. first boz scaggs song i ever heard being played on the american top 40 on capital radio 604 in south africa. such nostalgia. great artist too.
If I didn't have a fricken job, bills,...I'd be protesting in front of the RRHOF until they let this dude and the Doobies in? H3LL, you could even make a case for his background singers to be inducted.
It keeps the drum sound from "leaking" or over powering any nearby mics. It keeps the drums self contained so to speak. The drum kit is mic'd itself (which is standard for most live situations), and on a stage that is full with that many people, there are too many mics that could pick up the drums and make the sound muddy and "slappy" with the slight delay you would hear.
FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC BY TWO!!!!!!!!!!! What a feeling! "Look What You Did To Me" was hauntingly moving. Got chills so intense I'm perspiring! I'm spent!!!!!
get the San. Fran. Concert DVD which this is from. Superb, every track a winner. I never tire of it. See and hear real muscians give a great performance. Why this guy was'nt a appreciated more over here in little ol England, is a mystery to me.

@tytandan Just trying to explain to the non-musicians who were the FIRST ones on this vid criticizing Boz's bands performance in this vid. The unknowledgeable criticizers HAVE to understand that the drummer did not just decide on the spot to play the way he did... Boz and company worked out in fine detail the arrangement of songs within the concert songlist during rehearsal. I don't need to have a string of hit records to set people straight. Peace Dan.

Boz Scaggs is one of those artists that you can imagine someone listening to generations from now thinking that his music just gets better with time.
Fantastic, great everything- balance, sound, bass, staggering/layering of vocals, drums, guitar, keys, everything- love this.

Ooh baby
Layin' it on the line
If this is last call
And you say that's all you can take
It's fine
I'm sorry but
It don't make sense
You'd be a fool
If you just run out on first offense
Ooh baby play it smart
Before you go south with your big mouth
Better check your heart
Danger there's a breakdown dead ahead
Maybe you're in way above your head
I may burn.. might upset you
But you know I'd never let you down
I told ya
No more lying
No more tears a falling
Stop your cryin'
Ooh baby
I'm your man
Before you go back to your side track
Baby understand
Danger there's a breakdown dead ahead
And just maybe you're in way above your head
I may burn.. might upset you
But you know I'd never let you down
No no no
No no no no
No no no no no no no
Danger there's a breakdown dead ahead
And just maybe you're in way above your head
I may burn.. might upset you
But you know I'd never let you down
