Back in the 70’s it virtually impossible to land on particular band because they were all great, we seriously had the best generation of musicians…great songwriters and storyteller. It’s great to see younger people finding these artists on RUclips and experiencing real artistry 👍🏻🙋♀️😎
Boz has had a tough couple of years these last few, burned out in one of the Cali. fires (lost about everything in ‘18) and some later health care issues but remains a consummate professional with a unique style. There is no one over these past decades like Boz Scaggs. He’s still touring this year at 77 and still tearing up the house with his incredible voice, musicianship, with the cool, understated elegance of a true Bluesman. He deserves every accolade and professional recognition that hasn’t been bestowed on him-but we who love him and his music know better and appreciate all the joy he’s bought us hardcore fans. A shout out as well to the other members of his band, all of whom are stars in there own right including the fabulous Ms. Mone’t Owens and her “slap happy” colleague, the lovely Barbara Wilson. Thank you all for decades of beautiful memories current and past with more to come.
This is pure talent from the back up singers too every one in the band no autotune no filters just straight up talent all you young wannabe bands have no clue
3:55 One of the best, catchiest, and most memorable bridges I've ever heard. That 30 seconds or so of synthesizer solo is one of the best things ever. And I love how the guitars introduce it, and contrast with it. Just brilliant!
Pretty sure that is from David Paich of Toto fame (he wrote 'Africa', 'Rosanna' and 'Hold the line') who helped write some of the songs on Silk Degrees. A Moog synthesizer is used on this song. Paich, Jeff Porcaro and David Hungate of Toto all played on this song.
@@111Phoenix777 You're welcome. More fun facts related to Silk Degrees. Paich, Porcaro and Hungate played on most songs on the album. As stated above, Paich co-wrote some of the songs. Jeff Porcaro states on a video from 1986 that Scaggs paid him and other musicians who worked on that album $30,000 each (= to $160,000 today) as a bonus or "Thank you" for their hard work. Jeff says he used as a down payment to buy his house.
I saw Boz Scaggs in Buffalo's Rich Stadium in 1975. John Miles Band, Boz Scaggs, and 3 hours of Elton John for $15. I don't think those days are coming back. Great concert!
In 1975 I was making $5 an hour as a derrick hand so that was 3 hours working for me then. When I quit the patch derrick hands were making $35 an hour so still working 3 hours gets you a concert ticket :)
anyone who loves Boz Scaggs has got to be an awesome person with great taste in music. I finally got to see him in concert this past July in Atlanta. I have loved his music since 1977!!!
Saw him 2 nights ago here in Melbourne, australia,,,as good as ever,,watched the whole show with a smile on my face,,the mans voice is so unique,,just incredible
I remember when Silk Degrees came out. I had never heard of Boz until then. I couldn't believe how anyone could have an entire track list of great songs on one album!
Oh man, this is my teen era. I listened to Cat Stevens, Steely Dan, Doobie brothers, Boz Scags, Bad Company, Joan Jett and the blackhearts... great lyrics. Thanks so much for loading this. Yes, I'm old.
Well, some of us may be physically old but forever young at heart. I'm 72 and play the greatest hits of people like Boz Skags and others and dance around my house like I'm am 18 year old ballerina. Can still move these hips like 50 years ago, LOL! Exercise baby, exercise!
I finally had the chance to see Boz Scaggs live at Casino Rama in Canada. He did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the concert. Lido Shuffle is one of my favourite songs of the 70's.
Taped live at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco in 2004. Boz's extraordinary band features the following musicians: Bass: Matt Bissonette; Drums: John Ferraro; Guitar: Drew Zingg; Organ: Jim Cox; Piano: Michael Bluestein; Saxophone: Charles McNeal; Trumpet: Rich Armstrong; Vocals: Monet Owens and babelicious Barbara Wilson.
Forty eight years old this year, Lido Shuffle off his 1976 album Silk Degrees. More than stands the test of time. I thought it was Boz Scaggs best song. We were quite young when this was released.
I also first heard this song while in Coast Guard boot camp Cape may N.J. 1978 this will forever remind me of working in the chain locker during galley week I too spent 20 yrs the memories awsome song Boz is bad would love to see him in concert thanks for the upload.
Thank you so much for posting this! Super visual and sound quality! I spent so much time listening to Boz Scaggs and Stealy Dan in my late teens and early twenties. And still listening!!! The "Boz" will be here in Montreal for the Jazz Fest!!!
Troubled Boys, you have entertained us with 4 classic classics. Well done; thank you. Boz & Steve Miller have proven themselves and their music to be timeless.
This is my all time favorite song ever, It came out and was a Hit when I was a Senior in High School!!! Alot of Great Memories come flooding back when I hear it!!! No other song is as GREAT as this!!!

This is one of the coolest songs where I truly don't understand what the whole song is about. The beat, the lyrics, the chorus just bring you back in time and get into your soul. The girls have their moments where they are in synch and certainly having fun but would have preferred if the camera was more of a wide shot. Truly fun song.
+Ryan Young Lido Shuffle...is about a guy that is a thief. He lives to rob places. Boz 's lyrics are great. "He's for the money...he's for the show...Lido's waitin for another go". "One more job oughta do it....this joint...ain't nothin to it" Means he wants to rob this place...and there is no one there that can stop him. Hope this was helpful
This would have been an amazing concert to be at. Those ladies sound amazing. The sound quality is fantastic . I hope I get to see him live before he stops touring for good
Just come back from Vegas for new year and they were playing it in Margaritaville in the Flamingo. Completely forgot about this classic. Now I can't get it out of my head. It's reminding me about my holiday and now I can't wait to go back again!
All the youth watching this need to pay attention. This is called "groove." Something missing from the ocean of crap being called music today!! Great song and a great artist!!! Thanks for posting!!

I have gotten to the point in my life (age and booze) where I forget some of my favorites. A post today about bands that are touring again brought me here. My playlist just snagged Boz!

Bring back the 70s. Boz wrote a bomb of a tune there.
I think the 50s were great as wel, the 60s and 70s even better. Then a gradual decline began. I believe it’s tied to the rise and fall of radio.
Stop talking through your arse mate, my parents said the same thing to myself in the '70s....

Not as good as Fogerty tho.

Boz is too wonderful for words.

Yeah, my favorite album. Love Harbor Lights.
it was massive, has to be a candidate for top 10 albums ever, like Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, Carole King's Tapestry, etc.
Lucky people get to listen to your music at the end of the month in Durham, NC. Like this song so much, Boz...thanks
Big shout to his singers and band...........fantastic!

Damn reminds me of too many days gone by! This was the best era for rock music. Go from 60's til Kurt left us and Nirvana. No music since,
Toto is still there... They played and wrote this song and most of Scaggs hits... Toto is still alive and kicking with a new album coming next year
Kumi na moja got any proof of that?
One of the greatest for sure, coolest dude on the planet for about 50 years

This is one of the best songs ever. This song has got soul.

This guy STILL does better work than some of the new "talent" running around today. Boz kicks ass and that's all there is to it.
