You're kind of lucky. I just want to get my ears pierced, as I would fit society norms and they would look nice with my outfits, but my mother says "NAH NAH NAH. It'll get infected, what if it gets caught on a thread and when you pull your sweatshirt off it tears your ear clean off?" Stuff like that.
Then after she'll say something like "no I'm not mad, not mad just VERY disappointed in you. No I need a minute. Just leave me be and get to your room now" 😂 you're so relatable
She’s just upset that her TEENAGE daughter rebelled against school rules and her rules without telling her. If you were a parent, you’d feel upset, too.
@@jazzieaintcoolxoxo I mean no because I wouldn’t have that rule. It’s her body she can do want she wants as long as she’s not actively hurting herself or others. Telling a kid they can’t get a nose piercing is often not going to stop them, they’re either going to go behind your back and get it done un safely (see all the cases of them doing it themselves or having a friend do it) or at most delay it a few years.
@@greenbeantm1096I mean if she can’t do it for school, there’s nothing the mom can do about that. I would be pissed too if my child blatantly disregarded school rules (even tho I don’t agree w the rule). Like I can’t change it and she can’t change it, so doing this was a mistake
@@greenbeantm1096 I'll tell my kid whatever I tell them and they'll abide by those rules because they respect me. You don't have kids clearly, so just stop.
@@thegillmachine I guess it's different over there, but in the US parents fight against ridiculous school rules all the time. Sometimes they actually get changed and even if they don't, it teaches them how to stand up for themselves and question authority when they're being questionable.
My mum used to go ballistic about me wanting my septum pierced but once I got it done she said it looked really nice on me and has loved it ever since lmao
My mum was so cool about piercings and tattoos and just my overall appearance. She's like well it's your body so you can do what you like. She took me to get my 1st and 2nd lobes then when I turned 16 I didn't need parental consent for piercings so I got a bunch more. She was like omg you look so cool. I'm getting my first tattoo on my 18th and she's helping me choose. She doesn't like having piercings and tattoos herself but is always supportive of how I look and dress even though its not her cup of tea.
That's me with my Mini Me. I don't want them myself, but she's almost 17 now (like this week) and if she wants, that's her decision. In my state, you have to be 18 or have all this extra paperwork and a parent with you. We've let her color her hair since 7th grade, she's in 11th now, and just this week, for her birthday, we took her to get snake bites piercing, that's she's wanted for years.
I am a parent who sees things the same way as your mum. Although I did have two piercings in my left ear many years ago. I took them out for a job in 2000, and never wore them since.
I got my lip pierced when I was 18. My Dad came to drop something off and said nothing...then as he left he said "I'm not impressed with that". Good for you! I'm not impressed with your skills as a father so...
SAME- my mums like “you’d look cute with that piercing!!” And my dads like “absolutely not, you’re not getting a piercing till your 18!” Though I’m getting both nostrils pierced, my septum and maybe my lip 😏😂
It’s odd to read comments and see that people’s parents are really like this. My mom and usually in Finland in general adults don’t really care about ”small” piercings. Like getting ears or nose pierced. I have like 11 piercings now and a tattoo on my face and my mom just thinks it looks cute lol.
I’ve told my 13 year old that she can get her nose pierced on her 14th birthday as I know she’ll just go out and get it done anyway. 😂 I’d rather she go somewhere that I know is safe.
😂😂 THAT IS SO GONNA BE ME WHEN I AM OLDER I WANT SO MANY piercings LOL I WOULD ASK FIST I WOULD. Probably ask my dad first because basically I literally love get in the light of things and basically like my dad says yes to everything😂😂
i wanna get my nose pierced but my mom told me she'd gonna sue anyone that pierces me since i'm a minor and i need her permission LMAO i gotta wait another 8 months to be 18, imma do it on my birthday with any birthday money since i know a cheap place
Depending on where you live you might legally already be able to get it done. Not everywhere you have to be 18 to get a piecing without a parents consent
I was scared to go by myself to get my nose done, so my mum went with me and held my hand 🤣 It was my dad who didn’t like the piercing lmao Both of them didn’t like it when I got my eyebrow pierced but I’m too old for them to say anything about it aha 🤣
True story I pierced my own nose with a needle at home (btw don’t do this) my mum was SUPER PISSED And the next day I skipped a class and my mum was so mad about the piercing she wasn’t even mad about me skipping class even though I got isolated at school for it, so yeah I got away with that but not the nose piercing lol 😂
I’ve got a fake nose ring that looks like an actual piercing and my mum says I look amazing with it. She also said that if I ever feel safe enough to have any piercing, given I have a needle phobia, then she would encourage me to get one
My parents always said theud kick me out. When i came home with my septum pierced they just called me a bull for a month lol..they waited to kick me out for another few months
Lots of people get piercings to show that they have control over their own body and to show no one else can control them. I just wish parents would understand that.
My mum let me get my nose pierced when I was 14 lol. 3 years later I have a septum, nose, double lobes and a stacked lobe, and a labret lip ring. My mum is cool!
the problem for me is really the school,go have your piercing but during summer so till school starts, the nose would heal and you'd be able to take the nose ring out🤷♀️
You clearly know nothing about piercings. I'm not shoving a needle thru my nose only to have it for the summer. And a peircer has to take it out if it's a hoop
the most accurate part of this is mum acting like it's the ABSOLUTE END OF THE WORLD
Ikrrrrr
So true like it’s not that big of a deal
The fact my mum WANTS me to get my nose and ears pierced one day
Same, all 5 of my aunts and my grandma have nose piercings so my mom fine with it.

The 7 stages of mums reaction to piercings. 1- confusion. 2- shock. 3-disbelief. 4- madness. 5- ranting on 🙄. 6- realisation . 7- acceptance

The tone of voice on “STATE OF YOU” was perfect 😂😂

They are called Creature Comforts 😊❤
the isolation talk was relatable

Probably like 14 to 17 years old
I think you can get a nose piercing in the UK at 16 without an adult accompanying you. 15/16 is the vibe I get from her anyway
Please don't take this the wrong way because I think you're brilliant but you literally look like a Wallace and Gromit character IRL. ❤
You didn’t say the, “what happens when you sneeze?”
